“Came all the way from Michigan just to eat here because of word of mouth naw JP was at the pilot off exit 24 and had breakfast at Haywood 209 yesterday morning and wanted something different in a good way and the grits was spot on as was the bacon and hash “
“We were in town for a family getaway and tried this restaurant. It was lovely. The service is great and the food was delicious. We tried the duck, the fried chicken and the trout as well as the duck wings and the chicken liver pate. We finished off with banana pudding. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.“
“So we had a fantastic supper. Service by Hattie was so very attentive & she tended to our every need.My husband & I shared fried green tomatoes & then ordered more! They were hot, crispy & delicious. We shared a Seafood platter with Fried Cod, Shrimp, and Hushpuppies, & coleslaw all cooked to perfection! We would have had dessert, but we had no room!We definitely recommend the Blue Rooster for value, quality & great service!“
“Solid southern cooking. We both had fried chicken with different sides. And a slice of "German chocolate" pie.Definitely off the tourist trail. Lots of character with the old school diner aesthetic. Couldn't find a build date, but maybe the 1940's.Looks family owned with a gaggle of sisters working the front.“
