“I cannot say enough within this review to express how excellent Benny’s is. Firstly, the atmosphere is capturing from the exterior in. A beautiful, classic pizzeria with luxury table tops, stained glass fixtures, rustic wood floors and brick walls that provides an elegant yet warm feel throughout the dining experience. The service and hospitality were superb; every interaction from the host, bartender, server, and manager allowed me to feel welcomed and accommodated. Each member went above and beyond for my friend’s engagement celebration. We were greeted promptly and generously. I met the manager, Drew, and my server, Lauren, who were both fantastic. Lauren made us the best cocktails. She even juiced real apples to make the most phenomenal drink I have ever had. We ordered a pizza and Strombolis, which were all fantastic. They both came with a fresh salad and warm, crispy fries. We ended our experience with gelato, and even though our bellies were so full and happy, I don't think we could ever go back without getting the gelato for dessert. Everything was clean, beautiful, and tasty—just perfection. If you want a fun evening with exquisite food, friendly service, as well as a memorable experience, Benny’s is the place to go. Definitely a 10/10 all the way around and one of the best places in Wilmington to dine. Amazing for a celebration with friends and family or just a date night. Highly recommend!”

I only order sushi but my husband always gets a cooked dinner and he says they are amazing as well! The staff is attentive and the sushi chef (I believe owner) is fantastic. I sometimes get supermarket sushi as Genki is not real close to me. I used to appreciate it was “just supermarket sushi” but after Genki (10-12 times) it’s real hard to get a quick supermarket fix. Actually right now I’m salivating!”

Clam chowder and crab dip. Dinner was blackened salmon with risotto and green beans, fried haddock fish basket with fries and slaw, broiled seafood platter. Risotto and asparagus. Desserts were crème brûlée and blackberry cobbler with ice cream. We will absolutely be returning!”

I've lived in Wilmington since roughly 2012 and have always planned on visiting, but dragged my feet until last week. A HUGE mistake!! The partner and I planned a date night, made a reservation, and headed to the Little Dipper to check out their "Traditional" 3 course fondue dinner. We were greeted by the kindest hostess (who sat us five minutes before our reservation) and our server was with us only moments later to take drink orders. Our server was amazing and the service itself was *exceptional! With so many years in the restaurant industry, it does something for my soul when the waitstaff are friendly and obviously enjoy where they're working and what they do! Not only was the service flawless- the food was UNREAL. After visiting a chain fondue restaurant in the area, I thought I "didn't like fondue"- evidently I had never had GOOD fondue! Who knew! The "Chedder Ale" cheese was rich and the depth of flavor had me wanting to lick the bowl. The cheese plate was hearty and filled with meats, breads, crackers, and fruits and (While I can't recall what cooking style we opted for) the filet was butter soft and melted in your mouth.
I CAN'T believe I waited so long to try The Little Dipper, and I can't wait to introduce TLD to my family, friends, coworkers, and clients in the very near future.

Although they were busy and there was a wait for a table the staff looked after us quite well and made sure we were comfortable while we waited. They took an interest in my child and made us feel very welcome. The food was amazing. The restaurant was super clean. The menus are clearly marked. I overheard the staff being cautious about an allergen for a family near our table. The wait staff triple checked to make sure everything was safe. We added to our order twice and added an additional $10 tip at the end of our meal (it was that good). I wish they had more room for additional tables because they would be FULL every night. “Faith restored!!! After swearing never to return I thought I would give it another try and very happy I did. I ordered the Eggs Benedict again and our Waitress, Trish remembered me and said, "you like your Muffins well done right?" I must confess being remembered after so long was a tad uncomfortable and I thought "oops maybe I was a little too vocal and critical last time I was here! But Trish was charming and allayed any concerns in that area. She was very attentive made sure my meal came out exactly as we had requested, Muffins well toasted!. I have been back twice since and hoped that I would again be served by Trish, sadly not but received great service from my servers and the food was perfect. This restaurant has an holistic approach to serving insofar that your main server may not be the one that brings your food or ensures you are well served with Water, coffee or whatever. I believe tips are shared but regardless this results in a high level of attention to the customer. Though not our prime server today I was happy that Trish was on hand to keep my coffee cup full. Shame on me but I did not get my prime servers name today but I would be remiss in not also giving kudos to her for great service. Thank you for restoring my faith. Oh, I forgot to mention the Breakfast potatoes are to die for!

The good, excellent friendly and attentive waitstaff. The bad: the kitchen does not respond to customer requests/desires. I love Eggs Benedict and this is what I typically order and they do a good job getting the eggs right. However, I hate soggy muffins and specifically ask that my English muffins be well toasted (just about black) and on only one occasion out of many they actually got it right! I have had to return many due to the underdone muffins and even after returning them they still seem reluctant to toast them as requested. Today I made the same order
plus a side order of Hollandaise sauce. Specifically mentioned I want the Muffins very well toasted, they arrived almost pure white! I returned them and then at best got medium toasted and the side order of sauce was stone cold and the potatoes barely warm. When I informed the waiter that the sauce was cold I got the most ridiculous response that they could warm it up but that could cause the eggs to cook up. When the English Muffins are well toasted and crispy the Eggs Benedict are excellent but I have had enough of not being given what has been requested and ending up frustrated and disappointed. Sorry to say this will be the last time I eat here.”

The flavors were outstanding, and each bite was a delight. The service was friendly and attentive, making the meal even more enjoyable. I'm not sure what has changed but it just didn't taste as good and the sauce was very vinegar heavy. One of the first times I had the mushroom steak dinner it was amazing; I think maybe it was overcooked this time. A different sauce would be better too; like a au jus or something. Or a steak sauce. Something savory. Or a gravy. More menu options would be awesome too. For the price point we just can't eat here often. Sometimes we feel it's just too expensive for what it is. “Was in NC for the weekend 8/16/24-8/18/24. Saw this restaurant that was walking distance from the hotel. Not knowing what to expect as usually any Me I can food I have ever had here in New England has all tasted the same. Got a plate of nachos and I got something based on a picture on the menu so I’m unsure of the name but it was 2 slices of bread with shredded steak and it came with a small bowl of broth and a piece of meat (like an au jus gravy) for dipping. BEST nachos my wife and I ever had hands down. Every nacho on the plate was covered not just on top. My sandwich type item was great too especially with the broth. And like some other reviews have said just the plain tortillas given with each meal are great, the dip is mild and I can taste that it had a taste of paprika in it which is a magical ingredient. I never leave reviews but for this place I had to.”

“I cannot recommend Burney's (Wilmington location specifcially) enough! The owner, Anthony, is incredibly kind and generous. I used them for my wedding desserts and got 6 flavors of croissants, cake balls, white wedding cake and a 15 layer caramel cake. Several people told me it was the best wedding cake they have ever had. My only regret is not getting more croissants because they were gone SO FAST - people are still talking about them! Not only was the quality of everything amazing (as it always is when I'm just visiting the store), but everyone was so kind and helpful. I did several tastings and this one was by far the best (in flavor and service), they have so many options, are super customizable, have a reliable staff - truly everything you could want in a local bakery or a wedding vendor!”

Lately though we've been getting it to go because I'm disabled and I hate to get in people's way; hopefully I'll be fixed soon but what I've found really aggravating is getting all the way home to find the order isn't all there. Granted we should have checked it before we left but we shouldn't have to and as is normal, you all were packed and we didn't want to keep anyone waiting. It is disappointing though especially when I'm paying the same price as if I were sitting down enjoying myself, tip too. Maybe the people doing to go orders could just check behind themselves, it sure would be nice when you have a to go order and you live 30 miles away. We're all human and we all make mistakes as well, so I know we'll be back!!”
