The music was a bit too loud but it was classic and smooth jazz. People were friendly and atmosphere was good. We will definitely try it again.”

If you’re not in a hurry and you don’t care how your eggs are cooked or how long it is between the arrival of your eggs and hash browns until your ham shows up or your waffle makes it to the table then this is the place for you - but not at the bar counter because it hasn’t been wiped since the morning shift cleared out and the waitress isn’t happy about being asked to clean it. The food was good even though it came in shifts, the service was minimal as was the server’s personality and the prices were reasonable.”

I was seated at the busy bar during Sunday brunch in front of the kitchen window. The entire staff, from bar tenders, servers, chefs, management etc, are all happy and respectful towards one another. The vibe of the staff says everything about the restaurant…almost as important as the food. It was busy to say the least but all staff were getting the hard work done and joking along the way. Refreshing to see.
I highly recommend this restaurant and have already been back during my short stay here. Their outdoor seating area is quite large too if it’s not too hot & humid out.”

I found that Winston Salem was a pretty good middle stopping point and looked for top rated pizza in the area. I found Burkes after searching through a couple different options and to say the least we are overly impressed. We love pizza and this is definitely top 5 best pizzas we’ve eaten. The girl who answer the phone was awesome at answering all my questions and we ended up getting at 16” chicken pesto, and added all our favorite toppings and a slice of the grandma pep cup. It was cooked to perfection when I ordered it “well done” and my slice was HUGE. Highly recommended as it was super fresh .”

“We had our wedding reception here. It was fabulous. The food was wonderful and the service was excellent. We had a lunch reception on a Saturday and the restaurant took care of all of the decorations. All we had to do was pick out the menu and show up.
In addition to the indoor seating the restaurant has an outdoor covered seating area. The plan was to use one area for hors d'oeuvres and the other for lunch and the restaurant would be able to choose which was best suited for which based on the weather that day. We ended up having lunch outdoors and it felt like a lovely picnic.
Our guests were talking for months about how the reception was a nice relaxing lunch that allowed people time to visit with each other as the service was so seamless that it never interfered with socialization.
The staff always kept an eye on my wife and I to make sure that we had anything we needed. She and I actually were able to sit down and have a full meal during the reception while still visiting with everyone!”

The food was amazing but the service by far stole the show. Our server Donvelle was the best server I have ever had at ANY restaurant. She was attentive and made sure every aspect of our dining experience was covered the moment we sat down to the moment we walked out. She’s AMAZING!
