“That was completely unexpected and just DELICIOUS. We went on a Saturday evening based on fantastic Google reviews and they were NOT WRONG! Mexican street food with global influences. Elote corn, Ramen Fries, Asado and Chilango Burrito. The Chilango burrito was the front runner but everything was soo flavorful. It isb ocated on the north side of the strip mall on the northwest side of 50th and L. It is not easily visible from the street. They apparently will be expanding into the next bay. It is very casual (order at the counter) but very clean. It is easily accessible with only a threshold and a swinging door. We spent $40 for 2 apps, two entrees, a soda and a beer. If I thought I could eat more food and live, I would have gotten the Tres Leches Cake. Strongly recommend!”

“I've known of Yoshitomo now, for roughly 5 years. I've not had one single bad experience. The food is always amazing. By far the best sushi I have ever had. The atmosphere and tone are a perfect blend. The service, knowledge, and recommendations from the staff never miss. If I had to choose one specific thing that stands out the most aside from the food itself. It would be that you NEVER need to ask for, or even use soy sauce, ginger, or wasabi. 10/10 and I will always recommend Yoshitomo to everyone that loves sushi.”

My order came out faster than I thought, which was nice since I was kinda hungry lol. Food tasted fresh, fries were hot and crispy, burger was decent—not amazing but def not bad either. Only thing was they got one small detail wrong in my order, but they fixed it quick so no big deal. Overall, solid spot when you need something fast and easy.”

However, I recommend this restaurant still due to the great food they have there. The chicken is cooked perfectly with the best blend of spices and sauce. “My wife and I were in town for the "Beyond Van Gogh" exhibit at the Mid-America Center. Afterward, we looked up restaurants near us and chose La Sierra because several reviews mentioned authentic cuisine. We were not misled. The menu is small and straight forward. Pick your fillings and choose it in either a gordita, burrito, quesadilla or on a plate. We both got selections as gorditas. My wife ordered: Asado De Puerco, Picadillo Verde and Picadillo Rojo. I ordered: Papas Con Carne, Papas Con Chorizo and Deshabrada. I also wound up getting a burrito with Machaca. All the meats were seasoned nicely and delicious. Both the verde and rojo salsas they brought out enhanced the food. The rojo does have a kick (same sauce as in the Desshbrada) but the heat didn't linger so eating it was enjoyable. The margarita I ordered was delicious, made with real lime juice. Some people might complain because it is regular sized, served in a glass roughly the size of a martini glass. It isn't a gigantic gimmick you find in a lot of American-Mexican restaurants. It hit the spot! The fruit empanadas were lovely, the crust similar to a sugar cookie with strawberry or apricot. We tried both and thought the apricot won by a hair. Its sweet flavor was slightly stronger than the strawberry. The service was excellent, both our server and the gentleman from the kitchen (maybe owner) who brought out food to the table were extremely friendly and a pleasure to speak with. We've marked La Sierra in our "must do again" list and when we care back in Omaha, we will be stopping in.”

“While staying in downtown Omaha, my husband and I walked from Hotel Indigo to Block 16 and quickly understood why there was a crowd both outside and inside when we arrived around 6:00 PM.

We ordered at the counter and found the process easy and efficient. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit. We especially appreciated being told about free refills and being checked on to ensure we were enjoying our meal and overall experience.

We shared a grilled cheese sandwich and the Funky Fungi Fries. Both were outstanding. The flavors were distinct, creative, and clearly intentional. The portions were generous enough for a hungry individual but also worked perfectly for sharing between two people, which is exactly what we did.

What impressed us most was how well everything came together. Despite the restaurant being busy, the food quality, service, and overall experience never seemed to suffer.

Block 16 is an easy recommendation for anyone visiting Omaha. Great food, friendly staff, generous portions, and a restaurant that clearly understands why people keep coming back.”

It is an adorable restaurant. We ordered wine and their wood fired pizzas. It was delicious. I am a pizza fan, but I normally do not eat the crust. We ordered, the salad bar was amazing!!! Fresh and had several choices. Our meal was another story, our waitress got our order wrong. I wanted chicken parmigiana and I got a sandwich?! She did get it corrected but I had to wait longer. At the end of our meal the manager trish came over to offer apologies. She also brought me the martini I originally asked for that she said she made herself. Awesome!! It was delicious!! She was friendly, chatted with us for a moment and deliver our bill. She didn’t even charge me for the drink! We noticed her guiding our server who was then having issues at another table. I would say we won’t be back but Trish really helped turned our opinion around! She’s definitely a manager who cares! We will give it another try and hopefully just get a more proficient server!”

The packaging for to-go orders is also unique in that it doesn't trap moisture in so the chicken stays crispy upon arrival. I do miss the Hot Mala flavor and hope it returns.”
