“My son took me to lunch here as he's familiar with it from working in the area. I got the veggie burrito, figuring it would basic. Wow, wow, wow. I have never tasted flavors like that, and it was beyond amazing! The owner and employees couldn't have been more accommodating and I can't wait to go back. Oh, and my son got the burger. Again, not your basic burger. It was so, so good. The best burger I've ever tasted in my life.“

“I tried El Rey tonight. I haven't had guacamole that good since Tapatia was a luncheonette in the Tapatio Supermarket, Circa 1995, and the chips tasted like they came straight from Playa del Carmen. “First time ordering. Ordered online. 3 out 4 sandwiches were on point. The other one we were not happy with. There was no option to add or remove ingredients. The picture of the sandwich had lettuce tomato and onion on it and that’s what we wanted. When the food arrived that one sandwich was dry. No lettuce tomato onion or mayo. Update the online services to customize the deli sandwiches and I’ll give 5 stars. Cuban panini was on point “
“Though no one was answering the phone there to see if it was open, we ventured on a Wednesday night around 630 before a show at the Count Basie. Walked in and a less than handful of folks at the small bar. No one at the tables. I had to trust the Yelp reviews. Two people seemed to be working, and I believe one was manager and chef. Menu was nice and service was attentive and friendly. The guac was very generous and very good. The entrees had a lot going on on the plate. Fish, rice, corn, salad, veggies, Brussel sprouts, asparagus. A very large serving plate. Could tell care went into the food presentation. Will definitely be back. This is a hidden gem that deserves a spotlight.“

“This past Saturday my boyfriend and I had a reservation to celebrate his birthday. When we got in the car to go home, he looked at me and said "This is probably one of the best birthdays I've ever had". We got to sit at the chef's table, and everyone from the hostess to the wait staff went above and beyond to make him feel special and celebrated. The food was fantastic as it always is, but the experience was truly the highlight of the night. We will never forget it and want to thank everyone at Barrio from the bottom of our hearts for making it a truly unforgettable experience. “This is a family run business. Everyone is warm and friendly. Service was fast and great. They offer great specials weekly. Food is cooked in less oil than you traditional Chinese restaurants. There is a restroom for customers only which is very clean. You can find parking on the right side of the building.“
“Stumbled on kitchen Tex mex when our regular Mexican place wasn’t open yet. How fortunate for us! The food is excellent and fresh and very affordable. The chips are not salty. A variety of tasty salsas. So good we went back 3 times in a week. It will be our new regular place.In those 3 visits there were few people eating. “Walked by one morning on our way to Offshore, checked out the menu, the tacos caught our attention, specifically the Baja Fish and Tulum Shrimp tacos, a couple of our favorites. Decided to come back for lunch the next day. We ordered the aforementioned tacos. Server was nice, brought our drinks fairly quickly along with some tortilla chips... but no salsa. Had to go inside and request it later. Salsa has good flavor, they have a green and red, mild to medium spice. Tacos arrived, they looked great, nice presentation... but the shrimp was seriously lacking in flavor. My wife and I have had shrimp tacos in Tulum and these weren't even close. Plus only 2 medium-sized bland shrimp in each taco. The Baja Fish taco had decent flavored sauce on it. The tortillas were not warmed or grilled or anything on either tacos.“
“Birria Tacos, Shrimp Tacos, elote Corn, cauliflower burrito (they forgot our guac :-), quesadillas all were delirious and certainly plentiful even without the guac it was very nice size portions. The only reason for taking off a star was the 'queso' and chips, the chips were great but the queso was not good at all, it tasted like blended refried beans it was not cheesy tasting and had no pull as queso should, it was very odd and it went in the garbage as no one liked it.I would decently recommend giving them a try, fun place with wonderful food.“
“What a great local restaurant. My son recommended we go, he had only ordered delivery and wanted to try dining in. Very very good. Server was friendly and attentive. The chips and salsas came out as soon as we sat and were so good. Loved the salsa verde. I had asked for no onions in my meal and the waitress thought to ask about onions in the guacamole after we added that on afterwards. It was nice that she remembered my preference. And came out with extra chips to go with it without us needing to ask. We both ordered Tacos Mexicanos. One vegetable and the other chorizo. Happy to say the vegetables were not just peppers and onions but included zucchini and broccoli. Lots of cilantro, which I love. It was so tasty. All 3 tacos are in double tortillas. Great to make an extra taco with anything that may have fallen out or just insurance it holds together. We ordered horchata as our drink which was also quite delicious. Everything was fresh, and reasonably priced on top of all of that, just fantastic. I'd definitely go back.Vegetarian options: Many items include your choice of filling so vegetables are always an option for so many things on the menu.“

I love going there and sitting in the dining room, the food is always fresh and delicious. The owner said absolutely and even cut it up in small pieces for us. He didn’t charge us for the chicken either which was unbelievably nice. “This place is the best authentic Mexican place I've ever been to. They are so kind and give you such a good deal for what you get. I only paid about $17.50 for a drink and my three tacos. They also give you free home made corn chips Every time you eat in. If they don't have the self serve sauces available they will give it to you in containers. I've been here with my boyfriend so many times and it never disappoints me. The food is always high quality. The pink building and colorful environment is different but very authentic. They won't even let you clean up after yourself if the owner is there.“
