“Kudos to Solera! Service and private seating were top-notch and very personable. Ordered several items from menu and all were delicious! Celebrated granddaughter's 2nd birthday and staff did an amazing job with dessert with candle and song. Traveled from the south and will visit again on next trip to NYC.“
“The wine selection is outstanding, accompanied by a superb food menu that's straightforward and user-friendly. The ambiance is wonderfully minimalist, and the food is served at the ideal temperature with exceptional flavor. We enjoyed the Long Island duck and pork tenderloin, as well as steelhead trout and gulf prawns for starters. I highly recommend stopping by if you find yourself in NYC.“
“I love this Craft Beer and Burgers but this place is amazing is like you were in Disneyland roller coaster of flavors and I’m very thankful to my Server Kendra L. Briggs to take care any time and how she’s rolling this place from the beginning to the end great food experience and service as well!!!!!“
“I had such a great time at Cozy Royale yesterday! I had been wanting to visit this spot for a minute and I was finally in the neighborhood so decided to slide by. Service was excellent, and the cheeseburger definitely lived up to the hype! I have to come back and try the famous martinis, they look sooo good! My one recommendation is to make a reservation especially if you’re coming on the weekend! ?“
“Cozy, dimly lit wine bar that is inviting. Prices for happy hour are very reasonable, a bottle of red wine costing $44. For nibbles we tried the goat and double cream cow cheese that came with a homemade apricot jam and spicy chutney - both which were very good. We sat at the bar in front of where they were prepping ingredients so got some marcona almonds and a spoonful of their delicious chocolate mousse. Would definitely come back.“
“Got there at 6 on a Thursday, waited 2 hours for a table for 2. Mozzarella sticks and ribs were amazing. Wings, burger, and ice cream sundae were fine. Service was great, and I loved the atmosphere, it was loud as hell so some people may not like that but I have no issue.“
“Embarking upon the gastronomic journey that is Barnea in the heart of Manhattan, one finds themselves in a culinary dreamscape, where each dish serves as a verse in an epicurean sonnet. This establishment isn't just a restaurant; it's a symphony of flavors conducted by the maestro chefs, with the bustling, yet impeccably orchestrated, service reminiscent of a New York minute—swift, efficient, and without a beat missed. Our odyssey commenced with a parade of appetizers that whispered tales of the sea, the earth, and the ethereal realms in between. The king salmon crudo, a dish that seemingly swam from the ocean depths directly to our plates, offered a refreshing prelude with its delicate texture and zesty accompaniments. The Barnea egg Benedict, a celestial reimagining of a brunch classic, was poached not just in water, but in a potion of culinary magic, making each bite a revelation. The polenta fries were like golden beams of sunshine on a plate—crispy on the outside, whisper-soft within, proving that even the humblest ingredients can be elevated to haute cuisine. Crispy dumplings, a playful nod to the global palate, danced with flavors that were at once familiar and novel. Patatas bravas, a dish steeped in tradition, were reborn here, fiery and bold. The beef carpaccio, a testament to the art of simplicity, melted away on the tongue, leaving behind a longing for just one more bite.As we ventured into the main course, the narrative deepened. The duck confit risotto was a masterful blend of textures and tastes, each grain of rice telling a story of craftsmanship and care. The glazed beef short ribs, tender to the point of poetry, were glazed in a sauce that could only be described as liquid gold. The rack of lamb, an ode to the pastoral, was a symphony of succulence and seasoning, while the tournedos, a ballet of beef at its most tender and flavorful, performed gracefully on the palate. The chef's special miso black cod, a dish of understated elegance, whispered secrets of the sea with every forkful.Ah, the grand finale of our gastronomic ballet at Barnea, where the curtain call was as sweet as the symphony preceding it. Dessert is, after all, the encore that every foodie soul yearns for, a final note that lingers long after the performance has ended. And what a standing ovation our choices garnered! The Key Lime Pie, not merely a dessert but a voyage, transported us to the sun-drenched groves of Florida with each bite. Its delicate balance of tart and sweet sang a duet with the buttery, crumbly crust, a harmony so divine that even the angels paused to listen. This was not just a pie; it was a slice of bliss, a creamy whisper of dreams made tangible.La Noisette, on the other hand, was a masterclass in the art of subtlety and sophistication. A ballet of hazelnuts, chocolate, and cream that pirouetted across the palate with grace and elegance. Each spoonful was a brushstroke of flavor, painting a portrait of indulgence that was as exquisite to the eye as it was to the taste. This dessert was a love letter to the senses, penned in the language of sweetness and texture. To dine at Barnea is to partake in a feast for the senses, a testament to the art of cooking, and a reminder of the joy that can be found in a meal not just eaten, but experienced. Would I do it all over again? In a New York heartbeat.“
“Absolutely love stopping here. The staff are sweet, helpful, and timely. The oysters are fresh and delicious. Definitely get yourself the Mac and cheese and ricotta dip to share bc they are delightful! Great place if you’re looking for a light tasty meal and a proper glass of wine.“
“I had a fantastic experience at the restaurant yesterday! Mamun, our server, provided exceptional service, and Jordan went above and beyond, giving us a thorough tour and sharing insights about the Virgin brand. Highly recommend this place and looking forward to returning.“
“After binge watching Love is Blind for 4 hours, it took everything for my lil baby and I to peel ourselves out of bed to make our 6pm reservation at Virginia's. To be honest, the last minute cancellation would have cost me $50 so that's really what got me... and that's so fair they should charge for last minute cancellations on a res.I've walked by Virginia's hundreds of times at this point, and made so many mental notes to pop in as it looks so inviting from the outside. Upon finally entering, I was right. Inviting af.As we sat down I became almost giddy for the meal, as the ambiance is so well curated. I'm a sucker for those little floating orb lights and a cool under lit bar ahahaha. We started with drinks (Negroni for me, obviously. My nickname in high school was Post Negrone), the little gem salad, and the crab croquettes. The little gem salad was out of this world honestly. I don't even know, I could have eaten 10 of those things. For mains, wifey got the burger per Yelp direction and I got the Steak Frites because I am on a mission to try every Steak Frites in the city. The burger is absolutely to die for. The hype is real. It's recommended medium rare, and it came cooked to perfection. I mean look at the attached pic, Jesus Christ. Every bite of this large beef patty amalgamated with cabot cheddar, onion marmalade, marrow aioli, and bacon is a juicy blast of heaven between 2 buns. It was spiritual. The Steak Frites was the best one I've had in NYC. Granted I've only had like 7-8, but still, head and shoulders my favorite right now. I mean again, just look at the pic attached. Do I need to say anymore? I mean look at that Maitre d' butter soaking into the steak. Great portion size too. Steak was bigger than my head ahaha God did. However the only negative, that is my civic duty to mention, was fries do not come with the burger... and the fries are an extra $12!?!?! DAMN. Me and wifey just split the fries from my Steak Frites so we were chillin, but an extra $12 for some fries? On top of a $20 burger? $25 if you add bacon too… $29 if you add the egg…I really began to worry about the future of the world when burgers stopped coming with fries. I wonder if they'll start serving scrambled eggs without bacon lol. That's when I'll know it'll be time to flee the country.Regardless of fry-gate, I loved this place... I don't hold it against them either, as most high end American places are doing this. Much to my chagrin in times like this, the market is the market.Shoutout to our girl, Morgan, as she was an amazing waitress. Super engaging, giving us great recs, checking in on us all the time, etc. The staff here was fantastic. My experience was so memorable that I almost bought a hoodie, but bailed last minute as I got really shy and I spent a good amount on dinner ahahahaha. This is one of the best American Food spots I have been to in all of NYC. It will make my revised list of All NBA Lower East Side Restaurants. GOD DID!IG @jnov_Tiktok @jnov__“
“Milk & Hops is definitely worth checking out, great selection of draft and craft beers along with some small bites. Two different sides of the bar: great atmosphere to watch sporting events on one end and the cocktail lounge on the other side.“
“This is hands down the best restaurant in NYC! Nestled in the vibrant West Village, it's an absolute gem. I brought my sister here while she was visiting from out of town, and she loved it!The sushi is truly out of this world, and the ambiance strikes the perfect balance between sophistication and great vibes. Daniela and the entire team work wonders to make the experience truly special. Whether it's a date, birthday, or business dinner, this place is perfect for any occasion. The food quality is simply outstanding, with the most interesting ingredients expertly combined.I find myself recommending this restaurant to every friend who visits. It's no wonder it's gone viral on TikTok! Hurry up and make a reservation, because you don’t want to miss out!“
“My wife and I visited Handcraft Burgers and Brews for my birthday this past weekend. As soon as my wife opened the menu she knew that I was going to have to try the burger of the month which was a peanut butter and grape jelly topped hamburger with jalapenos, bacon and cheese. Admittedly I have never had peanut butter and jelly on a burger before but I figured I would try something new and see what all of the hype was about. Turns out, I loved it! Every bite was so flavorful and completely made my birthday lunch a worthwhile venture! We also tried the tater tots, because who doesn't love a good tater tot. We could have chosen from multiple dipping sauces but we decided to go with the garlic aioli and I am glad we did. I dipped each of my tater tots in the sauce and there was plenty for both of us to share. We were helped by Vanessa at the restaurant and she was very accommodating when I was having trouble using a coupon that I had for my birthday. All in all this was a wonderful choice for my birthday lunch and when we are in the area again I would definitely stop by and perhaps try the latest burger of the month along with some tater tots and garlic aioli dipping sauce of course!“
“Located in a convenient area within walking distance of the subway, with many shops and restaurants nearby, the room has a sleek design with minimalistic style, albeit not overly spacious. You can head to the rooftop bar upstairs to relax and enjoy the city lights at night. The staff were friendly and helpful, and there is also a café on the ground floor. If you're seeking a more traditional hotel experience, you might want to look elsewhere, as this one is more akin to an Instagram-friendly hotel.“
“This is the best and the cutest place for a happy hour in the city. We got midori sour, old fashioned and Negroni… and each and every drink was amazing. Not diluted or less. My new fav places with prices being so reasonable. I will be back again that too next week. Loved it ?“
“First time at this place! Had a great meal at this place. We were able to sit outside ima beautiful day, Server was great even though it was busy for a weekend lunch! I would recommend! this place! We debated on getting an appetizer, and the server suggested not too since it was busy, and our food came pretty quickly!“
“We knew it was a gamble to do takeout, but wanted to try it anyway. The burger is decent, but no special sauce and the 8oz patty was in our view too large to be properly complimented by the ingredients, so recommend the 5oz for a more optimal taste compilation. The fries were tasteful but unfortunately soggy even though we had a 5 min transit time only, so can only give 4 stars for the takeout experience. Probably best to eat this on location (and support the staff!), and we will likely give this a second chance on prem“
“Went there for lunch with four others. Wr call the Donburi but different types. The apps were the usual Edamame (can't mess this up) and some tasty pan fried Gyoza. We all enjoyed our Donburi and finished them but I thought it was kind of bland so really 3.5 on the food.“
“Loved this place. Great beer (though if you’re British they aren’t shorting you on the pints a US pint is 100ml less than a UK one). Fantastic food. I had the Salmon with Cesear Salad. Nachos were amazing too. My wife’s burger was equally good. I’ve never had one so big.Wish I’d bought the souvenir T-Shirt they were the best quality I saw in NYC.Dietary restrictions: I bought a fish dish which was very good and we had Nachos.“
“I hosted a surprise 30th birthday for one of my old college friends at Bar Nine and we had the absolute BEST time!!! The bar’s manager couldn’t have been more helpful and kind and helped me set up the whole party for a group of 15! The drinks were awesome, the service was amazing, and the music was top notch! We had the best time and can’t wait to visit again soon! Thank you Bar Nine for an incredible night with all my college friends!!“
“Proletariat is my new favorite place! What an original beer menu and ALL TASTE GREAT! The service is spectacular and the atmosphere is supercool, laid back, and inviting with your choices between darker/lighter/private/communal nooks and crannies all around. The B burger and fries were fantastic, as were the peppers! This place rocks my world and I'm already planning another rendezvous there soon.“
“I visited for the first time with a junior who loves beer. They only go to the main branch in Brooklyn, New York, but now that they have a branch in Manhattan, New York, they often come here to drink nearby. It's not a very spacious place, but there are a few bars and tables, and since it's a little after lunch time, there aren't many customers. The atmosphere of being able to sip beer in the middle of the city on a weekday afternoon is so lovely. While listening to the explanation of the beer, I ordered a beer with an unfamiliar name, ‘Peanut butter jelly crunchee’… .A mysterious combination of flavors that are unfamiliar with the taste of real peanut butter... .one shot… It was worth falling in love with, this place. Next is special broth… next… As it turned out, the way back was Hellele… Is this a place where people can get drunk enough to drink together and leave half of the other half alone? .other half exploration… lol“
“Have been coming to the tap room since 2020, and drinking Bolero Snort Beer since 2018. OVB was one of the first beers I had from them, and I couldn’t be more elated when they opened up a tap room-finally! John, Montana, Jose, Jay and the rest of the crew are the best and never disappoint. This is me and my bf’s home brewery and for good reason. We always look forward to our visits and what new beer creations they have on tap for us to try- we always walk out with a new favorite. We are always looking forward to our next visit!PS we always leave each visit with a haul of beer to take home ?“
“I was meeting a friend for dinner and it was pouring out. Being wet and cold instantly disappeared once I walked into this magical restaurant! The place is cozy, tables well spaced, clean and comfortable. The wait staff was super friendly, made good suggestions and brought the food out timely. We had the crispy chickpeas with rosemary and black salt. This is listed under snacks. I suggest you order these as soon as you sit down to snack on while deciding what to order. The chickpeas were deep fried with wonderful seasoning and had a delightful crispy taste. They have a wonderful wine list. We had the Chateau De Chantegrive Graves 2012. It is a Sauvignon Blanc & Semillon, France. It tasted like a mixture of a Sauvignon Blanc and a Chardonnay and was not too sweet. It also is a great value at $11 a glass. We started with the Steak Tartare appetizer with fresh Chile and ponzu sauce. The chef at this place is a master at spicing, the true art of cooking. Fresh Chile and ponzu are two very flavorful ingredients where each can dominate. Just the right amount of each was added and the flavors blended perfectly with the tartare. We then had the Wild Dover Sole with salsa Verde and the Salmon Rice Bowl with coconut rice, seared salmon, avocado, seaweed, sesame seeds and ponzu sauce. I had never had wild dover soles and wanted to try them. The dover soles were incredibly light and almost melted in our mouths. The Salmon Rice bowl was extraordinary with oodles of flavor. The coconut rice was cooked to perfection. We finished with a cappuccino and latte and the coffee flan. I love flan and coffee so it was heavenly for me. The flan had a strong coffee taste and was not overly sweet as some flans are. Can't wait to go back and try other dishes.Even though I do not live in the neighborhood it is worth the trip!“
“I’d give atmosphere 10 stars if I could. This is my all time favorite bar. It’s chill. The staff are incredible, and there are regulars that all know each other and talk. I love this place so much I rented it out for my wedding reception.11/10. Couldn’t recommend more.“
“A hidden gem near Times Square! This spot has dive bar vibes (meant in the best way possible), a killer beer selection including a wall of cans/bottles that you can take to-go or enjoy at the bar. A must-visit for a beer lover looking to enjoy a craft beer and escape the tourists in Times Square!“
“Great cozy spot for a cold Sunday beer and grilled cheese. We got the Fun-ghi and Figgy Piggy and it was a good mix of sweet and salty. The shop has tons of fine foods for gifts or appetizers, a long fresh cheese bar, and craft beer to go. What more could you need!“
“In town for work and my coworkers and I stopped in after a team building activity.Bear was behind the counter and took great care of us was helpful in assisting us with choosing beers.Nice chill spot. I’ll be back next time I’m in New York“
“It is an excellent and unpretentious place for a girl's night out. We went on a Thursday they had Good music with enough volume to talk with your friends. Good food and curated coctails, I got the Parmesan sandwich on a hero, and it was freshly prepared and delicious plus it came with salad instead of French fries. ( good to cut your carbs ;)) the waiter was fun and kind.“
“Atmosphere was a vibe and the bartenders were really friendly !! Bald bestie at the bar extended a firm handshake after giving me my receipt and I thought that was so fkn funny BUT THEN he wanna go and offer to take a pic of me and my friend only to take a selfie with the other bartender LIKE ??? We were weakkkk And the ~other~ bartender who brought the doggo over was super sweet too :')“
“I have no complaints. I recommend everything. The food and ambiance were perfect for a late dinner. The only comment is that they need a better wine selection. The pairings were not complimentary, but I am sure it will only get better over time.“
“Favorite bar in NYC. Beautifully understated, tons of beer choices attached to a simple cocktail list, and just big enough to find a seat on a busy evening while still feeling cozy. It's everything you want it to be without the fluff; couldn't ask for more out of a neighborhood tavern.“
“I really enjoy this place. It’s a little bit difficult to get service sometimes cause it gets really busy but it’s a really cool place to go for happy hour after work. Plus they have happy hour till 8 PM with two dollars off like many of their drinks and eight dollar drinks. It’s a great space to come with work, friends, and plenty of room to enjoy.“
“Lovely place to stop and get a beer when in New York or in Harlem. The selection was based on local beers that were either supportive of women own breweries or LGBT focused. The bartender was very kind and super down to earth! ! We'll be returning next time we are in town.“
“What makes East Harlem Bottling stand out is the friendliness of its service. The staff engage with customers and seem to have fun in doing so. Other craft beer venues could take a lesson here…doesn’t matter what you have on tap…it’s in the service.“
“Good local bar. I wouldn't travel far to come here, but my friend lives down the block on 40th and this is my favorite spot in the area. Good prices, got just what you need. People are always cool around here. Saw a fight once outside. Pool tables you can play. Bathroom is far away downstairs. I come here whenever I'm in the neighborhood!“
“$5.44/ cookie. The famous Chocolate chip & sea salt cookie, reportedly one of the best on the UWS. It’s on the pricier side but it’s massive and it’s very good. The touch of sea salt really adds something special to the flavor profile. They’re baked fresh, on site, several times throughout the day. This is nice because it means you’re not obligated to come in the morning to score the freshest cookie.I live right by Crossbar and I’ve liked it since it opened but I was not aware that Crossbar was noted for its pastries. I’m not altogether surprised to hear it though because any place that chooses to serve Devoción coffee I would, generally speaking, expect good high quality things from.—Pastries & Coffee aside: Crossbar is a wonderful spot. I really appreciate what they’re doing and what they’re bringing not only to the neighborhood but to the city. I’m not sure how many places like Crossbar there are in NYC but they’re not common. We’re lucky to have them right here on the UWS. Crossbar is kind of the ‘anti sports bar’ or the ‘unamerican sports bar’. In more ways than one and not just in the choice of sports they choose to show. It’s reflected in the aesthetic/ decor of the place, the food and beverages they serve and, yes, the sports that they show. All of these factors conspire together to create the kind of spot that someone like me would go to. Quite a feat for “sports bar”!Kid-friendliness: This is a family-friendly place.“
“I have been to Alternative Medicine Brewing Company twice and had positive experiences. I live in Brooklyn now and come up to see friends and family and I really wish this place was around when I when was living in Fleetwood. They make a very good IPA with Juice Cleanse, their environment is fantastic, they have a super cozy nook and the bathrooms are incredibly clean. Caribbean Soul Food literally hits the spot. Also, the owners and employees are super friendly. Mount Vernon really needs more great small businesses like this and I hope to keep coming back in the future for great beer.“
“This is a real Irish bar. Not in the sense of taped up paper leprechauns or a tinsel HAPPY SAINT PATRICK'S DAY banner, but rather campaign photos of John and Robert Kennedy, as well as other candidates for office going back more than 100 years. It's one of the oldest bars in New York City, and decorated with historical markers, play tickets, political posters and buttons, as well as a painting of a naked lady! Your choices for drinks are light ale or dark ale. They make good sandwiches, too.“
“Came here for a private wedding party and this place absolutely crushed expectations. I would love to come back for a regular dining experience. Their h'ordeuvres were top notch as were the entrees. I must've eaten a pound of there little wagyu skewers they had. And the cocktails were fantastic. This is a great date spot for dinner. Service was impeccable.“
“Highly recommend Bubo for your next dinner option or happy hour! The food is delicious and offers much more variety than your typical bars. The ambiance was warm and cozy and a great spot for a date night or hanging out with some friends. It’s located near a great area with the subway close by which makes commuting that much easier. Would love to come try their brunch next!“
“The food leaves something to be desired. I ordered the sticky cauliflower wings and they had no flavor so I’m sitting there with a plate of cauliflower smelling like a fart during the playoffs lmaooooo —- The bar itself it’s chill and really nice! The bartenders were attentive. I’ll definitely be back.“
“Great happy hour, amazing beer selection, and good food. You’d think the bartenders here would be pretentious because of all the fancy beer but they are really friendly and happy to give you recommendations. Worth a trip out if you’re a craft beer fan. Lots of rare stuff.“
“Great selection, I will definitely be back! They have both draft beers or you can choose one of the many cans (there is an additional fee if you want to drink the can there). There is minimal seating inside (a small bar and 1-2 smaller tables), and a few outdoor tables too. I hear the selection is ever-changing, so I will definitely be stopping by again!“
“A great spot in the Forest Hills area! I was craving a burger and I saw this on yelp and came by! They have a variety of different beers on tap and in the fridge. They have a good amount of seating if you want to order some food, they have a variety of different kinds of food to order from wings, burgers, sandwiches, appetizers, salad and more! The staff is super friendly and helpful! They also have TVs so you can watch a game while drinking a cold beer ! I definitely will be returning to try the wings!“
“I hosted some friends for my 30th birthday here and it was the perfect event, no small part because of this space. Everyone who came mentioned how much they loved the spot and the vibe. The drinks were great and I was able to bring in food (we ended up ordering some of the food they offer as well to snack on - delicious). What I will rave about most is the staff. Audrey took our orders all night and was the kindest, most helpful and attentive person. Also shout out to Amanda and JR for being so great as well in answering all my questions. I think I found my new favorite spot!!“
“The meat is great! We had the American and the Masterpiece burger (the name couldn’t be more appropriate!) The staff is excellent! No matter how busy the restaurant is they always find the time to talk to you and help! 10/10 experience! Thank you to Ray and Olivia for making our experience amazing!“
“They were pretty busy for a Monday happy hour but I had a good time. The bartender was really nice and overall the service was good. I sat at the bar and had a drink. I really like the feel of the inside. I want to come back for the boozy tea “
“I didn't get to eat here, though it's just basic pub grub. And I only got to try one drink (and it was on fire!). This place has been on my radar for quite some time, as I like to photograph interesting spaces--vintage, quirky, retro, sparkly, oldschool New York, moody, dark little corners. So I arrived to Bandits after hitting up a few other places. Probably around midnight. The spot is supposed to be open until 2 AM, but when I arrived, I was told they were closing. Turns out it had a staffing issue, and as the current staff had been there over 12 hours, they were closing a little early. The staff were extremely apologetic and offered to make me a simple drink. I can't remember the name, not even sure it's on the menu, but again--it was on fire. And tasted great! The reason I am rating this place five stars immediately is because this is MY New York. I've used this phrase a few times to describe places that are magical. Despite having to close early, the two bartenders and the security guard allowed me to stay and take photos as they were cleaning up. This actually worked out better for me because I got to take beautiful shots in an emptied restaurant.People get New Yorkers all wrong. They are the raddest people on the planet.Bandits will live in my heart forever because of this special unexpected moment, and I will definitely return to try more of their drinks (which do look awesome).“
“This place is the best! Best beer selection on tap and bottled! The burgers are so damn good! Good mac and cheese, wings, tots, chipotle sauces, and more! Plenty of tvs. The main floor is more of a sports bar with a jukebox. Outdoor seating too with tvs. They the club upstairs if thats more your scene. Definitely one of my fav spots!“
