“The wine selection is outstanding, accompanied by a superb food menu that's straightforward and user-friendly. The ambiance is wonderfully minimalist, and the food is served at the ideal temperature with exceptional flavor. We enjoyed the Long Island duck and pork tenderloin, as well as steelhead trout and gulf prawns for starters. I highly recommend stopping by if you find yourself in NYC.“
“I love this Craft Beer and Burgers but this place is amazing is like you were in Disneyland roller coaster of flavors and I’m very thankful to my Server Kendra L. Briggs to take care any time and how she’s rolling this place from the beginning to the end great food experience and service as well!!!!!“
“From the moment we stepped in, our dining experience at Barnea was exceptional. The exquisite food tantalized our taste buds, and the top-notch service, led by server Reuben and manager Anthony, elevated our evening. Every dish was a masterpiece, and the attentive staff ensured our every need was met with a smile. Without a doubt, I highly recommend Barnea to anyone seeking a truly memorable dining experience.“
“I had a fantastic experience at the restaurant yesterday! Mamun, our server, provided exceptional service, and Jordan went above and beyond, giving us a thorough tour and sharing insights about the Virgin brand. Highly recommend this place and looking forward to returning.“
“Milk & Hops is definitely worth checking out, great selection of draft and craft beers along with some small bites. Two different sides of the bar: great atmosphere to watch sporting events on one end and the cocktail lounge on the other side.“
“After binge watching Love is Blind for 4 hours, it took everything for my lil baby and I to peel ourselves out of bed to make our 6pm reservation at Virginia's. To be honest, the last minute cancellation would have cost me $50 so that's really what got me... and that's so fair they should charge for last minute cancellations on a res.I've walked by Virginia's hundreds of times at this point, and made so many mental notes to pop in as it looks so inviting from the outside. Upon finally entering, I was right. Inviting af.As we sat down I became almost giddy for the meal, as the ambiance is so well curated. I'm a sucker for those little floating orb lights and a cool under lit bar ahahaha. We started with drinks (Negroni for me, obviously. My nickname in high school was Post Negrone), the little gem salad, and the crab croquettes. The little gem salad was out of this world honestly. I don't even know, I could have eaten 10 of those things. For mains, wifey got the burger per Yelp direction and I got the Steak Frites because I am on a mission to try every Steak Frites in the city. The burger is absolutely to die for. The hype is real. It's recommended medium rare, and it came cooked to perfection. I mean look at the attached pic, Jesus Christ. Every bite of this large beef patty amalgamated with cabot cheddar, onion marmalade, marrow aioli, and bacon is a juicy blast of heaven between 2 buns. It was spiritual. The Steak Frites was the best one I've had in NYC. Granted I've only had like 7-8, but still, head and shoulders my favorite right now. I mean again, just look at the pic attached. Do I need to say anymore? I mean look at that Maitre d' butter soaking into the steak. Great portion size too. Steak was bigger than my head ahaha God did. However the only negative, that is my civic duty to mention, was fries do not come with the burger... and the fries are an extra $12!?!?! DAMN. Me and wifey just split the fries from my Steak Frites so we were chillin, but an extra $12 for some fries? On top of a $20 burger? $25 if you add bacon too… $29 if you add the egg…I really began to worry about the future of the world when burgers stopped coming with fries. I wonder if they'll start serving scrambled eggs without bacon lol. That's when I'll know it'll be time to flee the country.Regardless of fry-gate, I loved this place... I don't hold it against them either, as most high end American places are doing this. Much to my chagrin in times like this, the market is the market.Shoutout to our girl, Morgan, as she was an amazing waitress. Super engaging, giving us great recs, checking in on us all the time, etc. The staff here was fantastic. My experience was so memorable that I almost bought a hoodie, but bailed last minute as I got really shy and I spent a good amount on dinner ahahahaha. This is one of the best American Food spots I have been to in all of NYC. It will make my revised list of All NBA Lower East Side Restaurants. GOD DID!IG @jnov_Tiktok @jnov__“
“I know this place just opened, but I extremely highly recommend. A few of my friends came to eat here and so I decided to give it a try. Walking in, I was surprised how there was literally no one there but a ton of workers which I guess was great for me as they were super attentive. I was a bit surprised by the prices were pretty high for something that was supposed to be take-out, but the minute they start making the shawarma, I knew why it was more expensive. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma platter and it was delicious! Perhaps one of the best shawarmas I've had in the city. First of all, they gave us a platter just for all the toppings, did I mention that they are unlimited, that they had. Sometimes the toppings don't have that much flavor, but each one was very complex and flavorful. The chopped salad was light and fresh which balanced out the finely chopped pickles which added a sour taste. The red cabbage slaw which was slightly savory and slightly sour balanced out the onions that had a slight charred on it. I was so delighted by all the different toppings, which is where I think the place definitely shines. The chicken itself was okay, tender but not crazier than normal. Overall, I had an amazing experience and especially with the portion sizes, the platter could easily feed a family of 4 with additional leftovers. I think it will take me at least 6-7 meals before eating it all but I did add some of my own rice to counteract the bounty of flavors. I will say that they don't automatically give you the rice or the fries so big reminder to ask them for that when you come.“
“This is hands down the best restaurant in NYC! Nestled in the vibrant West Village, it's an absolute gem. I brought my sister here while she was visiting from out of town, and she loved it!The sushi is truly out of this world, and the ambiance strikes the perfect balance between sophistication and great vibes. Daniela and the entire team work wonders to make the experience truly special. Whether it's a date, birthday, or business dinner, this place is perfect for any occasion. The food quality is simply outstanding, with the most interesting ingredients expertly combined.I find myself recommending this restaurant to every friend who visits. It's no wonder it's gone viral on TikTok! Hurry up and make a reservation, because you don’t want to miss out!“
“My wife and I visited Handcraft Burgers and Brews for my birthday this past weekend. As soon as my wife opened the menu she knew that I was going to have to try the burger of the month which was a peanut butter and grape jelly topped hamburger with jalapenos, bacon and cheese. Admittedly I have never had peanut butter and jelly on a burger before but I figured I would try something new and see what all of the hype was about. Turns out, I loved it! Every bite was so flavorful and completely made my birthday lunch a worthwhile venture! We also tried the tater tots, because who doesn't love a good tater tot. We could have chosen from multiple dipping sauces but we decided to go with the garlic aioli and I am glad we did. I dipped each of my tater tots in the sauce and there was plenty for both of us to share. We were helped by Vanessa at the restaurant and she was very accommodating when I was having trouble using a coupon that I had for my birthday. All in all this was a wonderful choice for my birthday lunch and when we are in the area again I would definitely stop by and perhaps try the latest burger of the month along with some tater tots and garlic aioli dipping sauce of course!“
“Greywind was, for us, everything its reputation anticipated. A lively and comfortable place with very attentive servers. Our waiter, Rob, was both incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and incredibly funny the entire night! Plus, we had a birthday in our party and the chocolate writing is quite possibly the most precise and beautiful food writing I have witnessed. I think it speaks somewhat to the expertise in their kitchen.“
“(Brit abroad here)Lovely little bolt hole pub. Happy hour is true to its name, good strength beer/cocktails at wallet pleasing pricing. The atmosphere was lively, but In the good way!Highly recommend for a quality pint or two....or three +a dark and stormy“
“In a chill spot of New York City, Red Paper Clip isn't just a restaurant—it's like your cozy hangout spot, packed with awesome surprises. From the second I stepped inside, it felt like I was walking into a friend's place. The vibe was super inviting, and the smell of sizzling spices got me hyped. Oh, and let me tell you about the Betamax cocktail—it's straight-up amazing! And don't even get me started on the testing menu—it's like a food adventure you gotta try. Plus, Chef and owner Kevin? He's the friendliest dude ever! Seriously, my time at Red Paper Clip was next-level awesome from start to finish.“
“Loved this place. Great beer (though if you’re British they aren’t shorting you on the pints a US pint is 100ml less than a UK one). Fantastic food. I had the Salmon with Cesear Salad. Nachos were amazing too. My wife’s burger was equally good. I’ve never had one so big.Wish I’d bought the souvenir T-Shirt they were the best quality I saw in NYC.Dietary restrictions: I bought a fish dish which was very good and we had Nachos.“
“Went there for lunch with four others. Wr call the Donburi but different types. The apps were the usual Edamame (can't mess this up) and some tasty pan fried Gyoza. We all enjoyed our Donburi and finished them but I thought it was kind of bland so really 3.5 on the food.“
“The BEST NYC pizza hands down! It beats Grimaldi’s and all the other ones. Their tomato sauce is prepared so sweet I order MORE of it as a topping. The cheese is delicious and the Sicilian style size pizza is Amazing! VERY CRISPY. The only way to know More about the place is go to it in person!“
“A lovely spot in Rockefeller Center! Other Half is a must-visit for any craft beer lover visiting NYC and this taproom was so fun! I visited around 6pm and the taproom was busy with an after-work crowd enjoying beers and conversation.Highly recommend Broccoli, NEIPA and Poetry Snaps, Rice Lager.“
“I hosted a surprise 30th birthday for one of my old college friends at Bar Nine and we had the absolute BEST time!!! The bar’s manager couldn’t have been more helpful and kind and helped me set up the whole party for a group of 15! The drinks were awesome, the service was amazing, and the music was top notch! We had the best time and can’t wait to visit again soon! Thank you Bar Nine for an incredible night with all my college friends!!“
“Proletariat is my new favorite place! What an original beer menu and ALL TASTE GREAT! The service is spectacular and the atmosphere is supercool, laid back, and inviting with your choices between darker/lighter/private/communal nooks and crannies all around. The B burger and fries were fantastic, as were the peppers! This place rocks my world and I'm already planning another rendezvous there soon.“
“I was meeting a friend for dinner and it was pouring out. Being wet and cold instantly disappeared once I walked into this magical restaurant! The place is cozy, tables well spaced, clean and comfortable. The wait staff was super friendly, made good suggestions and brought the food out timely. We had the crispy chickpeas with rosemary and black salt. This is listed under snacks. I suggest you order these as soon as you sit down to snack on while deciding what to order. The chickpeas were deep fried with wonderful seasoning and had a delightful crispy taste. They have a wonderful wine list. We had the Chateau De Chantegrive Graves 2012. It is a Sauvignon Blanc & Semillon, France. It tasted like a mixture of a Sauvignon Blanc and a Chardonnay and was not too sweet. It also is a great value at $11 a glass. We started with the Steak Tartare appetizer with fresh Chile and ponzu sauce. The chef at this place is a master at spicing, the true art of cooking. Fresh Chile and ponzu are two very flavorful ingredients where each can dominate. Just the right amount of each was added and the flavors blended perfectly with the tartare. We then had the Wild Dover Sole with salsa Verde and the Salmon Rice Bowl with coconut rice, seared salmon, avocado, seaweed, sesame seeds and ponzu sauce. I had never had wild dover soles and wanted to try them. The dover soles were incredibly light and almost melted in our mouths. The Salmon Rice bowl was extraordinary with oodles of flavor. The coconut rice was cooked to perfection. We finished with a cappuccino and latte and the coffee flan. I love flan and coffee so it was heavenly for me. The flan had a strong coffee taste and was not overly sweet as some flans are. Can't wait to go back and try other dishes.Even though I do not live in the neighborhood it is worth the trip!“
“I’d give atmosphere 10 stars if I could. This is my all time favorite bar. It’s chill. The staff are incredible, and there are regulars that all know each other and talk. I love this place so much I rented it out for my wedding reception.11/10. Couldn’t recommend more.“
“It's a beautiful hotel and the staff are really great. I felt the rooms were a little small though and lacked some storage space, although I appreciate that it's New York and that's kinda the style the hotel is going for. The coffee shop and the bar are great amenities to visit and make use of.The doors are really thin though and you can hear everything that's going on in the corridor. The walls aren't quite as thin but we could hear an argument that kicked off in the room next door.On balance I would recommend it since it is pretty well located.“
“A hidden gem near Times Square! This spot has dive bar vibes (meant in the best way possible), a killer beer selection including a wall of cans/bottles that you can take to-go or enjoy at the bar. A must-visit for a beer lover looking to enjoy a craft beer and escape the tourists in Times Square!“
“Atmosphere was a vibe and the bartenders were really friendly !! Bald bestie at the bar extended a firm handshake after giving me my receipt and I thought that was so fkn funny BUT THEN he wanna go and offer to take a pic of me and my friend only to take a selfie with the other bartender LIKE ??? We were weakkkk And the ~other~ bartender who brought the doggo over was super sweet too :')“
“In town for work and my coworkers and I stopped in after a team building activity.Bear was behind the counter and took great care of us was helpful in assisting us with choosing beers.Nice chill spot. I’ll be back next time I’m in New York“
“I love this place. The chipotle chicken sandwich is amazing. The service is excellent. Humble interior, delicious food (try the wake and bake burger that has an egg and a hash brown) and reasonably priced. The servers have a great energy and are quick. As a local, I’d recommend this place to anyone around the area.“
“This is a real Irish bar. Not in the sense of taped up paper leprechauns or a tinsel HAPPY SAINT PATRICK'S DAY banner, but rather campaign photos of John and Robert Kennedy, as well as other candidates for office going back more than 100 years. It's one of the oldest bars in New York City, and decorated with historical markers, play tickets, political posters and buttons, as well as a painting of a naked lady! Your choices for drinks are light ale or dark ale. They make good sandwiches, too.“
“I really enjoy this place. It’s a little bit difficult to get service sometimes cause it gets really busy but it’s a really cool place to go for happy hour after work. Plus they have happy hour till 8 PM with two dollars off like many of their drinks and eight dollar drinks. It’s a great space to come with work, friends, and plenty of room to enjoy.“
“Favorite bar in NYC. Beautifully understated, tons of beer choices attached to a simple cocktail list, and just big enough to find a seat on a busy evening while still feeling cozy. It's everything you want it to be without the fluff; couldn't ask for more out of a neighborhood tavern.“
“Good local bar. I wouldn't travel far to come here, but my friend lives down the block on 40th and this is my favorite spot in the area. Good prices, got just what you need. People are always cool around here. Saw a fight once outside. Pool tables you can play. Bathroom is far away downstairs. I come here whenever I'm in the neighborhood!“
“Lovely place to stop and get a beer when in New York or in Harlem. The selection was based on local beers that were either supportive of women own breweries or LGBT focused. The bartender was very kind and super down to earth! ! We'll be returning next time we are in town.“
“What makes East Harlem Bottling stand out is the friendliness of its service. The staff engage with customers and seem to have fun in doing so. Other craft beer venues could take a lesson here…doesn’t matter what you have on tap…it’s in the service.“
“$5.44/ cookie. The famous Chocolate chip & sea salt cookie, reportedly one of the best on the UWS. It’s on the pricier side but it’s massive and it’s very good. The touch of sea salt really adds something special to the flavor profile. They’re baked fresh, on site, several times throughout the day. This is nice because it means you’re not obligated to come in the morning to score the freshest cookie.I live right by Crossbar and I’ve liked it since it opened but I was not aware that Crossbar was noted for its pastries. I’m not altogether surprised to hear it though because any place that chooses to serve Devoción coffee I would, generally speaking, expect good high quality things from.—Pastries & Coffee aside: Crossbar is a wonderful spot. I really appreciate what they’re doing and what they’re bringing not only to the neighborhood but to the city. I’m not sure how many places like Crossbar there are in NYC but they’re not common. We’re lucky to have them right here on the UWS. Crossbar is kind of the ‘anti sports bar’ or the ‘unamerican sports bar’. In more ways than one and not just in the choice of sports they choose to show. It’s reflected in the aesthetic/ decor of the place, the food and beverages they serve and, yes, the sports that they show. All of these factors conspire together to create the kind of spot that someone like me would go to. Quite a feat for “sports bar”!Kid-friendliness: This is a family-friendly place.“
“The food leaves something to be desired. I ordered the sticky cauliflower wings and they had no flavor so I’m sitting there with a plate of cauliflower smelling like a fart during the playoffs lmaooooo —- The bar itself it’s chill and really nice! The bartenders were attentive. I’ll definitely be back.“
“Went here on a weeknight after work around 4:30PM. As expected, the bar was pretty much empty. But the service was great. I ordered The Cat's Meow and The Cat's Pajamas, and both were excellent - rich, nicely balanced, and great mouthfeel from the egg white. The servers were knowledgeable and didn't try to push the most expensive items. The classic Fries are fantastic - shoestring, expertly fried, served with ketchup and aioli. Absolutely delicious and a great after work snack. The menu options are conveniently labeled for dietary restrictions. Highly recommend and would definitely come here again.“
“Highly recommend Bubo for your next dinner option or happy hour! The food is delicious and offers much more variety than your typical bars. The ambiance was warm and cozy and a great spot for a date night or hanging out with some friends. It’s located near a great area with the subway close by which makes commuting that much easier. Would love to come try their brunch next!“
“Great selection, I will definitely be back! They have both draft beers or you can choose one of the many cans (there is an additional fee if you want to drink the can there). There is minimal seating inside (a small bar and 1-2 smaller tables), and a few outdoor tables too. I hear the selection is ever-changing, so I will definitely be stopping by again!“
“I was feeling down and needed a happy moment or two. Found both with good food and great drinks at Street Taco. I was in the neighborhood and saw the sign out front for happy hour. Mood lighting accentuated with bright colors, and not too crowded. Just my vibe. There's a bright orange VW van in the back that serves as the kitchen counter, and the best part- Bad Bunny is in the drivers seat! There are big murals, brick and wood decor. Stepped up to the bar and it felt cozy. I ordered a Passion fruit jalapeño margarita $9 and mini nachos $6 (which were not so mini) off the HH menu. Loved the margarita. Sweet but not overly, with a spicy kick. As for the nachos, they were big enough for two me's, because I had leftovers. Needed to try one more thing, so I ordered a mini Brussels Sprouts Taco $3 and a Tecate $5 from Arturo. He was a lovely bartender. Friendly and attentive. Especially when he included me in a smooth tequila shot. That was nice. Parker from the restaurant was sitting at the bar next to me and made my glum, lonely night into a much better one. Chelsea and Andi rounded out the bar scene. With a disco ball, Street Taco Bingo, Taco Tuesday specials and a DJ on the weekends, Id have to imagine it gets rowdy here. For a Sunday night, it was quiet and perfect. I'm looking forward to coming back!“
“I didn't get to eat here, though it's just basic pub grub. And I only got to try one drink (and it was on fire!). This place has been on my radar for quite some time, as I like to photograph interesting spaces--vintage, quirky, retro, sparkly, oldschool New York, moody, dark little corners. So I arrived to Bandits after hitting up a few other places. Probably around midnight. The spot is supposed to be open until 2 AM, but when I arrived, I was told they were closing. Turns out it had a staffing issue, and as the current staff had been there over 12 hours, they were closing a little early. The staff were extremely apologetic and offered to make me a simple drink. I can't remember the name, not even sure it's on the menu, but again--it was on fire. And tasted great! The reason I am rating this place five stars immediately is because this is MY New York. I've used this phrase a few times to describe places that are magical. Despite having to close early, the two bartenders and the security guard allowed me to stay and take photos as they were cleaning up. This actually worked out better for me because I got to take beautiful shots in an emptied restaurant.People get New Yorkers all wrong. They are the raddest people on the planet.Bandits will live in my heart forever because of this special unexpected moment, and I will definitely return to try more of their drinks (which do look awesome).“
“We ate here while in a trip to NYC. The food was amazing and great place to relax, watch many different sports! We loved it and would recommend it to anyone! Banger and Mash- great, artichoke spinach dip- great! Drinks- great! Seems like a cool neighborhood place to spend time.“
“Offering an elevated drinking experience unique to its neighborhood, Albert’s Bar is a great choice. With its two levels and its Deco decoration highlighting the glamor of 1950.There are brunch, lunch and dinner options, with cooking open until 11:00 pm. An oasis that Midtown Manhattan deserved!Vegetarian options: 1. Smoked olives;2. French fries;3. Crispy Chili Cauliflower;4. Green salad;5. Crispy chickpeas;6. Tomato sandwich;Dietary restrictions: Inform dietary restrictions when placing the order.Parking: There are many places available on the nearby streets.“
“I came for the Orval. I used to live in Brussels and that's all I drank over there. It tasted perfectly and they even used a proper Orval glass. The bartenders were nice and attentive. The overall decor and atmosphere of the place even reminded me of a few places in Brussels. My only gripe (hence the 4 stars instead of 5), is the price of the Orval. It will cost you 15 plus tip. That's steep. And yes, I know it's NYC, but still quite pricey. If it were cheaper, you'd see me once a week!“
“After trying to take the train, then using our GPS, we finally said Uncle and called an Uber. So glad we stuck with it. This Nano Brewery is definitely off the beaten path but what a spectacular find! Loved the Ginger IPA and the Lychee Red brews. Being a craft beer lover from MN, we were extremely happy to find this place. I’d highly recommend their beers. Next time I’m in NY or you are in NY, you gotta go the extra mile and find this place. Great beers await you!!“
“This little hole in the wall is rad! Best chai latte I’ve had in a long time. It feel exactly like a real NYC coffee shop! They even hired some old character to pretend he’s the owner and walk around greeting people and engaging them in conversation. Well played!Try the banana bread. ¡Muy delicioso!“
“Specific beers on tap, cans, bottles and oh craft crawlers! It is a beer only place with amazing specific selections but the food caught my attention 3 times I was there to get beer and was like : "Omg let me get over thi a first! ". Then tried the selection and it was as impressive! Happy hour oysters really great taste an f great deal. Call ahead to check what is the special for it. So good sometimes they sold out on oyster $1 per shell.“
“I was killing time in the city before my flight later that day. This was the 4th spot I visited and I decided to post up for the remainder of my visit. Very chill vibe and the bartender, Lucas, was awesome. Thanks for helping me kill some time! Will definitely stop in on the next visit!“
“Nestled discreetly in an underground setting. The Boardroom exudes an intimate charm with its sexy and moody ambiance, dominated by dark tones of black and red. The hidden location adds an element of exclusivity to the experience, making it an ideal spot for a memorable evening.During our visit. I had their house cocktail, Charlottes Dilemma, and it instantly stood out as one of the best cocktails I ve ever had. The unmistakable presence of strawberry and cucumber notes added a delightful twist to the overall flavor profile. Meanwhile, my partner opted for the classic A.M. Prescription. Both drinks were well-executed choices with visually appealing presentations. The servers at The Boardroom proved to be both knowledgeable and engaging, enhancing our overall experience. A particular highlight was an impromptu whiskey-tasting session facilitated by one of the gentlemen on staff for my partner, where the two forged a genuine connection over their shared appreciation for whiskey. The small bites menu, though not sampled during our visit, offers a convenient option for those looking for a quick bite to complement their drinks. Though the prices tend to be on the higher side, I found them to be justifiable, considering the upscale atmosphere and the attentive service providedI'd absolutely recommend The Boardroom to anyone looking for a refined and sophisticated evening out.“
“Always nice to grab a small bite and glass of great wine here.Limited cocktails/hard liquor but their wine is really great.Enjoyable atmosphere. Music is never too loud but it’s also not too romantic. Good for friends, coworkers, or even a more casual date.“
“What a great little find on our adventures across NYC. Only stopped in here for a quick drink on our way home but the Guinness, wine and friendly service was so great we stayed for a couple more and something to eat. The Jack Daniels burger was delicious and I'd return just to eat that again!“
“Ambiance (4/5): The establishment is narrow and deep with one side with tall tables and the other with lower tables. We ended getting seated immediately at the bar in the back.Service (5/5): During peak dinner hours, our party of 2 had a wait time of 5 min. We were asked to wait at the bar in the back but we decided to fully dine there. Since we sat at the bar, we had instant beers and ordering service! The bartender was quick and attentive.FoodCustom burger (4/5): Cooked to a beautiful medium rare. The broiche bun handled the weight of the burger without falling apart. A very solid burger!Aioli fries (6/5): we asked for them to be cooked well done and they delivered! Their fries are cut nicely thin and they were made with a perfect crunch. The aioli gave a nice umami to an already great fry on it's own. Portion is big enough to share with 2-3 ppl.Would recommend!“
“Kudos to Solera! Service and private seating were top-notch and very personable. Ordered several items from menu and all were delicious! Celebrated granddaughter's 2nd birthday and staff did an amazing job with dessert with candle and song. Traveled from the south and will visit again on next trip to NYC.“
