50 Best Dive Bars near Hoboken

Wilton House Bar • $
58 Newark St., Hoboken

“This place is great for what it is. Cheap drinks, divey, friendly staff and hilarious regulars. It's a nice break from the hustle and bustle of mostly younger crowds downtown. And you can bring your own food. I basically picnicked there by bringing sandwiches and fresh mozzarella with a friend. Ben, my favorite bartender, served us with his usual charm, and provided good banter when needed. It's a vibe. Go inside.“

“the place thats near us is a bar and grill, and its inside of a really old ass cottage thats sunken into the ground. Like its literally sunk into the ground by a good five or six feet or so, the whole building. So you gotta go into the stairwell they built under the road to get in there. I think it's not actually Jimmy's corner, but people call it Jimmy's corner. Mhmmm, Mhmmm, it's half eaten.“

“This is a real Irish bar. Not in the sense of taped up paper leprechauns or a tinsel HAPPY SAINT PATRICK'S DAY banner, but rather campaign photos of John and Robert Kennedy, as well as other candidates for office going back more than 100 years. It's one of the oldest bars in New York City, and decorated with historical markers, play tickets, political posters and buttons, as well as a painting of a naked lady! “About 5 minutes walk from 14th station. A long-established bistro founded in 1960. It's a rarity in the U.S. It's cash only and has a simple menu on the wall.BISTRO BURGER 15.75/Fries 5.5Served in less than 10 minutes. An unexpected paper plate. An 8oz (230g) patty with cheese, crispy bacon, lettuce, tomato, and pickles. The buns were not cut until the end, so I ate them with random pieces on them. The overall taste is well-balanced, and it is characterized by being simply delicious. However, I didn't have a fork or anything, so the meat juices dripped down, which was a big deal.It is classified as quite small among American burgers. Recommended when you want to eat something quick.“

Great play music, English and Spanish, I might come back to karaoke tonight despite working tomorrow and getting up st 5:30 am. No food though, only pizza, no kitchen here. Management, how about serving popcorn, "chicharrones" (easy to find in this neighborhood), or any other "salty snack" upon request to keep us drinking???
