“Hop shoppe has been around for quite some time and has proven its reputation with their wide array of delicious burger. My favorite is the holy grail. Inside they have arcade games and a bar. “Went to the Linwood while visiting family from out of state on a Friday night. I grew up in Linden so I was excited to see how the place has "grown up". Nicer bar, cleaner and comfortable sitting areas than my youth and MUCH better food. Service was excellent and food came out quickly. It was a descent portion and very tasty. My only complaint was the cost but that cannot be helped since the cost of everything has risen. However, $18 for a chicken sandwich seems a bit high.“

“This was a laid-back, divey type of bar that supported the Packers as there was memorabilia throughout the inside. There were a few tables with mostly high tops surrounding the bar as well as outdoor seating with televisions. The menu had a few unique bar features along with over 140 wing flavors. Two types of wings and the special empanadas were ordered. The wings came eight to an order and seemed to be of good quality. They were meaty and large too. The sauces that were picked were awesome sauce ($14) and the Pickle Me Elmo Pickle Dressing ($15). The awesome sauce seemed to be a yum yum sauce but could not be exactly sure as the menu did not provide a description and just stated 'don't' ask - It's awesome." Regardless, it was very tasty. It was not spicy at all if unfamiliar with yum yum sauce. The pickle sauce was decent. I would have preferred more of the sauce present, but it was okay at best. The special empanada consisted of hot sausage and mozzarella. There were two to an order and they were big. The overall empanada was extremely crispy. There was plenty of filing and it seemed to be more of a chorizo texture than sausage, but it was still great. Will I go back? Definitely.“

“I met a couple of my old coworkers there December 20th after 4 years. I wanted to go to a highly rated family-run place and this establishment didn't disappoint. The burgers, meatloaf and pita wraps were excellent. The owner Vinnie greeted us and seated us, then came by to chat with us. The server was attentive and seemed to like her job. About a 15 - 20 minute walk from the Harrison PATH station. I will be making future visits there with old collegues.“

We came for a simple night of billiards and ended up finding a really cool spot to drink, dance, and hang out. “When it comes to food, I am a big food snob. I've been living in Staten Island for 34 years and I passed this place when it was Rusty's a million times. I met a colleague of mine for drinks and food here and it did not disappoint. The prices were fair, the place was new and fresh, inclusive of the bathroom (this is very important LOL). The drinks had a generous pour of booze and the food was excellent. Reading thru some of the bad reviews, they may have had a couple of off nights however none of them made sense to me. We both ordered a roast beef sandwich. I had the South Shore. It was fantastic. The beef was juicy, the bread fresh, everything was great. In addition to a pair of roast beef sandwiches, we ordered a hot pretzel and the apple-cinnabon dessert. Everything was great. In addition to this, we got to chat with Edward who had just started his shift serving us animals (he was a gentleman) as well as Rusty (former owner of Rusty's) who gave us a little history lesson on the transition of Rusty's to Point Tavern. I will definitely be back again as it was a good place to have a drink or have some drinks and grab some good pub food. There is a bar area, separate dining area as well as an outdoor space. The surrounding streets offer ample street parking.“

“I came here to order food to take out. The bartender took my order quickly and offered me a drink while I waited. I ordered a margarita on the rocks with salt. It was a really great drink. I sat there caught some sports and enjoyed my drink. I took home an order of chicken tenders which I forgot to take a picture of. There was six perfectly fried and fresh chicken tenders with a side of honey mustard sauce. Everything was great and the price was right. I enjoy Salty Dog and they keep the place clean. “I run The Bayonne Chess Society & Club. We have events all over Bayonne, different venues. I approached the owner, Ed, and he immediately said, "Yes" He's a chess lover, and had been waiting forever for chess to come to Bayonne. We have almost 300 adult members, no idea how many children. We also have a Boardgame Division. We did this in THREE MONTHS.We have two locations on members meet at on Fridays nights. Chubby's for a more mature atmosphere. People can go grab a beer, eat, and chill, while playing chess. If there are children, members meet at Joe's Pizza...4 blocks away. So, far I've had the cheesesteak sandwich and spicy fries. It was delicious. We meet at BOTH locations at 7 pm. No experience necessary. We have all levels of players young and old.We also meet at Cafe 26 on Saturday afternoons. We have a boardgame Event night on Thursday nights, at Bayown's Vendor Mart from 6 pm to 10 pm. Members bring whatever game they're looking to play. The venue has a few of their own. It's crazy fun. We've also had events at Houlihans. We have other venues in the pipeline, as we continue to grow, as we're now getting members from other towns, like Hoboken, Jersey City, Hoboken, Oldbridge, and Paramus.FINALLY, we have Free group chess lessons on Sundays at Chubby's. We're there from 2 pm until 5 pm. It's RSVP only, as space is limited. As we get more students we may go to another day for chess.But, all in all, Chubby's is a chill place to go, eat, chill, socialize, and PLAY CHESS !! They also have a video game night !!!
