“Me and my son had a chinese craving so we ordered here. Never been before. We shared and it was actually enough for us. We got the chicken lo mein which was sooo good. Not too greasy either, like the right amount of flavor/sauce. Beef with broccoli was also very tasty. They gave a good amount of beef. The broccoli was not soggy at all. Still had great texture. The almond cookies were also tasty. I also felt the price was good since I ordered on Uber eats. Definitely going to order here again.“
“A great find on a work trip for me! Live jazz on a Tuesday evening with good food and drinks to go along with it. I had a sake cocktail (or two) and the Korean beef, which was recommended by 2 other customers. As someone at the bar said, the menu has been Americanized since the last owners, so there’s not a focus on only Shanghai foods anymore (evidenced by the Korean beef above).Would absolutely return for food, atmosphere, and music!“
“Delicious vegan food. Tons of options. My non-vegan parents loved the food and talked about for days.Vegetarian options: Everything is vegan. They offer vegan meat and tofu with rice or noodles and vegetables. The menu is 10 pages! They have gluten free options. The lunch options are very reasonable and just the right amount of food. The vegan desserts are delicious!“

“The staff at the restaurant were attentive and knowledgeable. They were more than happy to guide us through the menu, recommending dishes that perfectly complemented our preferences. Their genuine enthusiasm for the cuisine added an extra layer of enjoyment to our meal.“
“Once you visit, the owner's mother remembers you and how spicy you want your dish. Very clean, very accommodating, and extremely friendly. You've never tasted noodles until you've tasted them freshly made to order. Every friend I've taken with me considers Shan Shan an encore restaurant. It's my home away from home.Vegetarian options: Bok choy is my favorite!Dietary restrictions: Rice v wheat noodles.Parking: In a strip mall on rte 46E before New StKid-friendliness: Kids plop down with chopsticks ready to dig in.Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs. Lilly will move around chairs when she sees a wheelchair.“
“This place is on point!!! My husband and I both got the Singapore Mei Fun and it was delicious. Just the right amount of spice and it was delivered on time and it was super HOT!!!! I highly highly recommend this place. Oh, and the delivery driver was extremely friendly.“
“Absolutely one of the best restaurants we've tried in some time. first time having Taiwanese food. very simple with some amazing flavors. we ordered the Crab/Pork soup dumplings as soon as we sat down. simply the best I've had. the Cucumber salad with hot chili oil, fantastic !!! Popcorn Chicken was the first chicken of its kind that didn't need a sauce. the meat was crispy and moist and held its own without a sauce. Taiwanese sausage was served with sliced garlic. simple a delicious !!!! we also had the fried pork soup dumplings which were incredible !!!! Can't wait to go back and try their entrees. Restaurant was packed when we arrived for lunch and stayed that way. Service was impeccable. Next time I'll make sure to make a reservation !!!!“
“Really good food..good quality ingredients for the price point..food took a while and wasn’t told how long and ended up waiting in the restaurant for nearly 25 min. It was busy, so can’t blame them, but would have been nice to know it was going to be a wait. The inside is clean, but standard setup. Chicken Lo Mein was great! Kung Pao chicken seemed to have more vegetables than Chicken, but still tasted great!“
“For a Wednesday night the place is almost filled. There was a mixture of tables with large parties and smaller ones of couples. Everyone seems to be returning customers which is a good sign. The five dishes we ordered were well prepared with appetizing taste. While their American menu seem to cover frequently ordered western fare, most of their Chinese dishes are listed separatly and only presented in the Chinese language. Our estimation is that everyone in the restaurant ordered from the traditional Chinese menu instead the one you are handed. Therefore, you may want to bring a Chinese speaking friend if you are interested in what they“
“My favorite Chinese restaurant. They are able to make food gluten free without compromising flavor and texture. I’ve been ordering from them for years and it’s one of the only Chinese restaurants I’ve wanted to go back to. The general tso’s chicken is my go to with a gluten free sauce.“
“I don’t normally write google reviews- but my family has been coming to this restaurant for years- and let me tell you it’s some of the best food I’ve ever had. Always perfectly cooked, fast and inexpensive. Sometimes I order twice a week. I’ve been to quite a few other Chinese food places- but no where compares.“
“The store environment is clean and tidy, and dining is comfortable. The service attitude is highly praised and thoughtful, and the dishes are rich in taste and delicious, satisfying the needs of many people. The dishes are fresh, the taste is excellent and so on.“
“By far the best hot and sour soup. Large sharable plates. Staff was very friendly. My friend had the fried tofu and was also very happy. The vegetable fried was very good although I would have liked to see more vegetables in it. But overall a great experienceDietary restrictions: They are very accommodatingParking: We arrived at around 2 pm and walked a few blocks to restaurant because parking was very limitedWheelchair accessibility: Wide doorways and walkways“
“I stoped by here for lunch from a recommendation from a work associate. Was not disappointed at all! The food came out fresh, crisp where it needed to be and soft where it’s suppose to be! The presentations of both our dishes were excellent and the flavor was superb! We both enjoyed our lunch. I highly recommended checking them out if you’re in the area.“
“Tokyo Hibachi in Springfield, NJ, is a really cool place. It’s got a mix of old Japanese style and modern vibes, making it a great spot for any kind of dinner. What’s really great about Tokyo Hibachi is how they stick to kosher food but still make it taste super delicious and authentic, just like traditional Japanese meals. Everything they serve is made with top-notch ingredients, and you can tell they put a lot of effort into making their food both look and taste amazing. The people working at Tokyo Hibachi are super nice and really good at their jobs. They make sure everyone is happy and gets what they need, especially when it comes to special food requirements.Tokyo Hibachi isn’t just a regular restaurant; it’s a place where they really care about keeping kosher while serving fantastic Japanese food. It’s a must-visit spot in Springfield, whether you live there or are just passing through.“
“Location is easy to miss, but look for T-Mobile, they are in the same plaza. Huge parking lot in the back of the restaurant. Pro tip: Bring cash to save 10% off your meal! I ordered braised flounder filet and romaine heart in sichuan roasted chili sauce and cilantro, it was super tasty and spicy, as expected! It was a little pricey just because of how little amount of fish filet we got in the dish. Tons of sauce, enough for me to use and cook another meal the next night. It's a pretty big restaurant, great for big parties!“
“Great family owned Chinese restaurant. I cannot speak to the atmosphere, because we always get take out, but the staff are so friendly and accommodating, and the food is delicious. The portions are so generous I usually get at least two meals out of one order. Additionally, they often throw in others side items for free.Parking: There is no problem with parking.“
“Even if you're not into Chinese food, you've got to admire the style that comes with it. My top-tier chums and I came here for lunch yesterday after The Pasta Shop had a 90-minute wait (which annoyed them/pretty much quashed any interest they had in trying to go back, and made me want to go even more - so it goes), and were rewarded with approximately a 30-second wait for a table here. Boy is there a lot to look at; I'm not going to risk using incorrect terminology in describing this building, but it's a lot. I'm assuming it's a fairly accurate interpretation of an "authentic" Chinese structure, but that's as far as I'm going. Very unique, very cool. And as someone who has spent a bit of time at a time vortex Chinese place in Rockland County of late, apparently aquariums are a big part of the decor. If you're looking for information on Hunan's authentic Chinese dishes, you've come to the wrong place - we went so basic, we might as well have ordered this with a side of Uggs and a Pumpkin Spice Latte. I ordered my tried and true Sweet & Sour Chicken, one top-tier chum ordered the Sesame Chicken, and the other top-tier chum ordered General Tso's Chicken. The edgiest item we procured were the steamed pork dumplings app to share.Everything here was very solid. These are obviously items that we'd typically get from a hole-in-the-wall takeout establishment, so it was a nice change of pace to eat the chicken off of actual plates (maybe most people do that too with their takeout orders, but I'm a barbarian through and through). The two keys for me when it comes to sweet & sour chicken are ensuring the chicken isn't overly deep fried where you're eating more fried skin than meat, and that the sauce is on the thicker side. Hunan checked off both boxes here, and since it was served with some vegetables, etc., there was some extra flavoring at play as well. The dumplings were very good as well. I've become more of a soup dumpling adherent in recent years, but I liked the seasoning in the pork and was pleased we got something other than generic chicken with our meal. The service overall was above average. I thought it slowed down noticeably towards the end, though we weren't in a rush or anything. But we'd clearly stopped eating and didn't receive a visit from anyone to pack up the leftovers for about 20 minutes - not egregious, and there were tons of staffers all over the place and it would have been very easy to hail someone down if the urgent need arose. Beyond that, everyone we interacted with was pleasant and efficient. One of my chums noted a party room in the back and was openly pondering the possibility of returning in the near future and hosting a birthday in there. I wasn't QUITE as blown away by this place as she was, but I'd definitely come back. But since I'm not a frisky teenager anymore, I sadly have to pick and choose my moments to chow down on Chinese food these days. The perils of Geriatric Oregon Trail Millennial-hood.“
“I have lived in town for about 6 years. We found this restaurant online and gave it a try. We ordered the pineapple and chicken fried rice, a dish called Phoenix, and the General Tso's Shrimp. Each dish was excellent and the staff was warm and friendly. Will continue to buy food from here!!!!HOT AND SOUR SOUP WONDERFUL!!! GOOD FOR COLDS!!!!“
“Just moved to the area and I was in search of some good Chinese. I’ve been going to the same Chinese place for most of my life living in my previous home and I was nervous to try a new place. This place exceeded expectations with the presentation as well as the taste and flavor!! Definitely a 10/10!“
“Happened to come across this place by surprise and at the last minute. Was looking for something light - a la a moo shu pork. I wasn't sure what to expect - but have to say it was really, really good. It is the first time I remember eating the whole portion. It was a great balance of vegetables, protein and seasoning. The only down side, using egg roll skin as the pancake is a bit of a cop out. A true Mandarin pancake would have earned it 5 stars.“
“I've always liked the food from China City 2, and I've never had a bad meal from here. Also, the lady is very nice and friendly. However, since the pandemic began in early-2020, their prices have gone through the roof!!! I understand, same thing could be said for supermarkets, gas, and the supply chain, but this is borderline insane pricing! Maybe their rent went up 75%? Not sure... Whatever the case may be, I used to be able to get a soup, egg roll, and some kind of chicken or beef and broccoli dish, with roast pork fried rice, for around $12. Now it's around $19. Big difference! Still fresh, clean and tasty, but for a take-out joint, a bit overly expensive, to say the least!“
“Be patient and prepare for waiting for order and waiting for dishes (because there is only one server……), then all is good!! Can’t complain everything else, the seafood is so fresh and umami, seasoning is perfect, and lots of variety, and… very cheap (comparing to other seafood restaurants)!!! Will definitely come back and just choose a time with fewer people.“
“Wow! This food is excellent & honestly the best I've ever had & I've been eating Chinese food a long time. The only reason I went here is because it was Monday & my favorite place Tomato Garden in Springfield was closed so I decided to try this place because of the reviews & man am I glad I did, this is my new Chinese takeout place & I've been going to tomato garden for over 25 years. I ordered sesame chicken & chicken wings which were absolutely superb.“
“Coriander soup is always delicious. Ribs are horrible. The whole fish is on point. Fried rice is always good. Overall I really like this place. A few menu items I've learned to stay away from. Honestly I can't get enough of their coriander soup, it's soo good.“
“Salmon Sashimi was extremely fresh and fatty melting in your mouth wow very good. The shrimp tempura was clean and flavorfulPad Thai was deliciousCalifornia roll was a bit generic but it makes up for it in taste the avocado was rip and fresh so yum.Black Angel Roll holy carp! Lol Soooo delicious try it you’ll thank me.Give this spot a try“
“This review is long overdue from me, as my family and I have been ordering from here for over 10 years. It is by far the best takeout Chinese food I’ve ever had, and undoubtedly the best in Union County. Also, can’t not mention that it comes at a great price too.“
“This has been our go to sushi spot- dine in or take out- for years. The fish is super fresh, the service is wonderful and they’re very accommodating. I often change the tuna lover roll to a salmon lover roll, which I think should be on the menu permanently! The tuna don and salmon don is the best deal around- and their salmon is like butter.I’ve tried a few few of their Thai and Chinese dishes and they were fine, but if I want that food I’ll go someplace else.“
“Needing a new "go to" place for Chinese food, we ordered our usual favorites...The entire routine, from ordering, to prep time, to cleanliness, to price were great. The food was prepared and packaged better than any other we were accustomed to. We ordered again 2 days later and was equally impressed.A new "go to" !“
“It's great-tasting, well-made Chinese food. By well-made I mean you're NOT going to receive food that's drowned in grease, or all mushy like it's been sitting in a steam table for hours. They have a great selection of different styles. All the standard stuff, plus Szechuan and Cantonese specialties. The prices are reasonable. Staff is very nice. I love that when I order delivery, the driver is from the restaurant, not some internet service.I used to think I'd never find good Chinese food in this area, until I tried Hop Hing. Now I wouldn't go anywhere else.“
“China House is so consistent. Their food always arrives hot and fresh and usually fast. All of their dishes have been very good and, again, very consistent. Their shrimp dishes are always perfectly cooked. We think it's the best around.“
“New Horizon is always excellent. Food tastes great, portions are generous, and it's ready a little bit faster than you'd guess.Vegetarian options: There are lots of vegetarian and pescaterian choices for appetizers and entrees.Parking: There are lots of parking spots.“
“I got the general tsao combo platter, scallion pancakes. Chicken lo mein. And spicy salmon roll. Super nice they offer sushi, it it’s good quality, as well as the other food. Chicken is not chewy or over cooked. All were excellent. Have eaten a few times here already. One of the fast Chinese take out places I’ve eaten at.Will continue to drive out of the way come back!“
“Tonight was the first time we ordered from here and all I can say is AMAZING things about the entire experience. When we picked up the food, we could immediately tell it was gonna be a good dinner because the whole family was there, including the children, which everyone knows that meals cooked by family are always the best so the food was DELICIOUS! The udon noodles with beef were the best noodles we’ve ever tasted. Definitely will be our new go too for takeout!“
“Low cost Chinese restaurant set up primarily for take out but there are a few tables for those who wish to dine on-site. It has good food, prompt and pleasant service, and easy parking.Parking: Free street parking in Front and on side streets. Free Municipal parking lots behind and across the street.“
“- quick service- clean establishment- delicious food- easily accessible, but could use more parking availability- I wish they offered plastic knives; currently, they only offer plates, forks and spoonsVegetarian options: - good amount of options, but could use more options;- egg roll is delicious;- dumplings are delicious, and are not greasy—which is very goodParking: - only a few spaces out front on the main road; first come first serve;- small lot on the side and back“
“I love Asian Delite. The food is absolutely delicious. The staff is the best, always friendly and accommodating. I do a lot of delivery from them and rain or shine they always get everything on time and call with any questions or substitutions. Just wonderful people and delicious food.“
“Since moving into town we tried this spot before I saw the reviews, I was kinda shocked. My family prefer our Chinese food takeout from this spot. The sesame chicken had a good balance of meat plus crunchy texture. We might pass on the beef and peppers but the beef and broccoli is a good go to. I'm a fan of the egg rolls. Overall, I'd recommend this spot. The pricing is great and for the amount of food it comes with.“
“They were able to make my dish gluten free!!! And it was great!! They charred my chicken and broccoli with some chili flakes and it was yummy. Their lunch special was only $10-11 too which is pretty nice considering it came with a miso soup and it was a nice portion. And it was done fast too. I will be back :)“
“I used to eat here religiously during my high school days. I couldn't get enough of their rib tips and rice, sweet and sour chicken, and General Tsao chicken. I ate here recently after many years and they still got it! They're easily my favorite choice for Chinese food in the area!“
“Good food. Good service. Could do without the delivery people sleeping in the back I guess but whatever. Place is top quality.Vegetarian options: It's a pan Asian place. There's plenty of veg options though I rarely order that personally.Dietary restrictions: If you ask them to remove something they will.Kid-friendliness: There's a kida menu“
“I ordered beef chow fun. It tasted good, but I had better. I prefer chow fun to be somewhat dry, greasy, and little firm. Not wet like noodle soup, which is how they make it. Also the size seems small compared to what I usually get at other restaurants. I was not full from eating this. Its my first time here, so I probably will come back to try other dishes.“
“Been going to this place for many years and can't believe I have never reviewed it before. One of the best Chinese restaurants in the area. We have tried quite a few but always come back to China City. The food is fresh and tasty, portions are large and orders are ready when they tell you. Family that runs it is wonderful. They were closed during a good portion of Covid and we struggled to find an acceptable replacement. Judging by the lines out their door when they reopened many other people thought the same.“
“Generally fearful of Chinese carryout (one bad apple long ago), this place is a step out of my hole. Good, not too greasy, good flavors and all not served entirely in styrofoam. Many locals and clear regulars passing through here is a good sign.“
“food is always great and my order is always done quickly. I usually get the garlic broccoli which is amazing, and my fiancé gets the sesame chicken and says it’s good. highly recommend when you’re in the mood for quality classic Chinese takeout.“
“First at buffet soon they opened. Place was super clean..food was hot and steamy. Everything was fresh. My favorite was the teriyaki chicken, oxtails, cheesecake, vermicelli abalone, beef short ribs, pork belly, and the salad bar. Kiwi and pineapples were super sweet and juicy.. strawberries and cantaloupe not so much. All in all everything was yummy EXCEPT the lobster... didn't like the mushy texture at ALL...worth the money. I spent 2 1/2 hours there and enjoyed my food. 9/10“
“Wok Star is hands down, the best, Chinese takeout place I've been to and Ive been to many. Been going here for 10 years. the food is tremendous. They make it to order low sodium if you want and always greeted with a pleasant, friendly smile.“
“Fun dim sum spot with full menu available as well and lots of yummy food. We really enjoyed ourselves eating so many delicious types of dumplings and delicacies. If you’re vegetarian please note Some vegetable options on dim sum carts, but not all carts. Waiters can assist in bringing options to you, though might want to consider ordering from their menu if really hungry.“
“Food was amazing! The service was fast and the staff were super kind! Somebody I think was the owner was super sweet and kept checking in on us! The atmosphere is great, it's a cozy, quiet, little restaurant, perfect for a calm dinner after a long day! We ordered the peking duck and a couple soups, as well as steamed shrimp dumplings. The dumplings were amazing and so were the soups! We got a whole duck for $70, while a bit pricey it was worth every penny! I absolutely adored this restaurant and it will definitely become one of my family's go to Chinese places! Can't reccomend enough!“
