“Been coming here for over 10 years. It's amazing how much it has grown and flourished. Chef Umberto, Mario, and Lorena are the ultimate hosts. The food is always top notch. This restaurant is very special.”

“Went as a last minute decision. I was so happy that we did. We started with the vegetable sampler platter. Our main courses were chicken vindaloo and mango curry chicken. The food and service were both exceptional. I would highly recommend the restaurant. Will definitely come back and bring the kids.”

“This restaurant sells food and drink that most other Black-owned ones don’t; for example, Fried Catfish and Southern Twang Tea.The Mac and Cheese was creamy and cheesy, and the top even had a cheesy film on it. The downside is that there was a tad too much black better throughout the Mac and Cheese, making it too spicy. View the close-up photo, and you will see the black specs.The fried whiting was perfectly seasoned. The homemade tartar sauce was quite tasty. It was worth the extra $1 that I had to pay for it.The lemonade was too sweet. I had to water it down with water from the soda fountain.The peach cobbler was meh—perhaps it was the softened crust and the canned peaches.The service was fantastic. Trudy J., the cashier, offered to bring my order upstairs, but I stayed downstairs and ate there.”

“I would definitely consider myself a regular. Love their sandwiches and bakery items. The best part about this restaurant is their amazing and friendly staff. Everyone is just so nice and willing to help/answer any questions you have. The bakery is very relaxing so you could definitely get some work done if that's your cup of tea. The only negative I must comment on is that their sandwiches sit under a heated lamp so their bagels can get a bit soggy. P.S. order online as soon as the bakery opens because they do sell out very quickly. Especially on the weekends!”

“Matt and his team do an amazing job with fresh meals to dine in or take away. Their fresh pasta to take and cook is fantastic, and the sauces are delicious.The assortment of local and Italian goods the best around.They have done an amazing job with my catering orders as well for parties both large and small.Vegetarian options: Great options for accommodating vegetarians, as well as helpful with special asks and requests.”

“A very cute artsy vibe and very good food. I got a sausage, egg, and cheese wrap and was very pleased. The only drawback is they only serve drip coffee no lattes or hot chocolate. I would def return though.”

“Run don't walk to this new Maplewood gem! We had dinner here Sunday night & everything was excellent! Love the decor, ambiance, staff & food. We had the guacamole, octopus, the tacos al pastor, crispy fish tacos, chicken mole poblano enchiladas, shrimp fajitas & tres leches cake. The Jamaica/hibiscus aguafresca was delish as is or with tequila as a cocktail. We'll definitely be back & often”

“Superb customer service. Atmosphere is family friendly. Meghan the manager is an exceptional human. She understands her assignment ! The food came out relatively soon; but not soon enough for my daughter because we came in super hungry and my daughter must have had a very hungry monster in her belly because she began to tear from waiting. Unfortunately, the pizza came back a bit more brown than we'd like. They gracefully took it back for a new one. Meghan took notice of my daughter's face and immediately came and offered her a few slices while we waited for the new pie. Overall, we left happy, full and satisfied Thank you again Meghan for saving my daughter from her hungry belly!”

Wife says, “Very good!” Also my son had the CHOCOLATE BUNDT CAKE, son gave it 10⭐️s! “That was SO good!” Wife says it was the best as well. Daughter had the CHOCOLATE MOUSSE and she loved it. “Strolling through town a wanted a little snack to go with my healthy smoothie from earlier. I walked in and was warmly greeted by a cheerful guy. After checking out the menu, I asked him what his favorites were and he made all the tacos sound so delicious. I was kinda of leaning towards a bowl, but after hearing all the taco goodness I grabbed a Cajun shrimp taco to hold me over till later.Turns out the guy I was chatting with was the owner, Todd. Really great to interact with him, super passionate about this place.Service was fast, taco was $6ish, and it was really tasty. I should've grabbed a deal for three, but I'll be back to eat more another day. You should too!”

I had the Meat lovers omelette and a side of the challah bread French toast and I don't think I've ever had French toast like this. It's so delicious. My date had a salad off the keto menu. “Park Wood Diner is the first restaurant my family visited when we started fencing in Maplewood. They have expanded their hours over the last year, which makes it incredibly convenient to pick up sandwiches for dinner after practice. We also eat here with friends on weekends, and the breakfast combination platter of pancakes, bacon, eggs and home fries is extremely popular.Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options on the extremely large menuDietary restrictions: You can find a variety of options to fit different diets.Parking: There is a free parking lot around the corner from the main entrance.Kid-friendliness: Very, very kid friendly. There are large booths and a variety of seating areas.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a wheelchair ramp from the parking lot into the diner.”

“This is a place that could easily be missed, it's a workspace rental location, similar to wework, but they placed a small counter service in the lobby that serves Peet's which only happens to bet the greatest coffee in the world!!!! The Barista is a very friendly and talkative guy who makes it even more of a pleasant experience. They have some sandwiches and snacks and I do believe there will be cookies from a local baker coming there soon. You must go here”

“Amazing Israeli casual restaurant. 1) I got the Sabich, Chutzpah Fries, Hummus & Tahina topped w/ Falafel. 2) The Sabich is a Middle Eastern Jewish sandwich with origins with Iraqi Jews. It is very popular these days in Israel and its capital Jerusalem. 3) The ambiance inside is amazing. 4) They offer free lemon infused water. 5) I really liked the Israeli grape juice.”

“This is the first place I've ever seen a Chicken Alfredo slice. And it did not disappoint. The plain slices were delicious. And the pepperoni sausage slice was great. It had a slight spice which made it stand out from other places I've had that from. I think maybe they use hot Italian sausage? Want to go back to try more of their food. This being the first time here I would definitely go back again.”

“We eat here almost every day. The food is always made to order so it does take a few miinutes. The food is delicious, I have never had anything I did not enjoy. Mr. C is always making sure we are happy with what he has prepared for us. Sometimes he will add his own little touch once he gets to know you and what you like. He will make great suggestions if you are not sure what you would like. The girls at the counter are great! This is a small hidden gem!”

“Update to my previous review. While it was certainly frustrating, the owner, Vinnie, called me several times afterwards to make things right. He apologized, took ownership, and was genuine. I couldn't ask for much more. I plan to order from them again given Vinnie's hands-on approach and personal touch. Their sandwiches were actually also very tasty (we got a mixed platter).”

“They're literally a staple of Maplewood as far as I'm concerned. They've been here for well over 20yrs and have the best Chinese food in the area. The prices are reasonable, and the portion sizes as well. It's a bit cluttered but they have everything you need one stop shopping.”

“I have eaten here a number of times over the years. It has good food at reasonable prices, which is hard to say about many of the restaurants in this area, these days. I had the mixed fajita the last time I was there, which I would order again. The restaurant has a lot of character and is nice and laid back.”

“Perfect comfort food for me. I love this place. Adding duck sauce to the lo mein makes it absolutely perfect for me. They have great chicken dishes (I love their sesame chicken) and I can't recommend this place enough!!! It's what I crave whenever I just want classic Chinese takeout. Definitely try it out!”

“We have gone to St. James Gate each time we have traveled to Maplewood. When we walk through the curtain, we are transported to an Irish Pub in Dublin. They have food options for just about every palate. The service is hit-and-miss depending on the timing.”

“We go to, and order from here ....weekly!! All their dishes are consistently fresh and amazing! We recently dined in and tried some noodle soup entrees and they were delicious and filling. We also love the salmon teriyaki which comes with a huge side of sushi! And all the rolls are fresh and great. My Fuji never disappoints!”
