“Really impressed! We asked Stuff by SJ to make a custom cake for a pizza-themed birthday party. Working with them (Drew) was super easy and stress free. They were helpful, responsive, well priced and even delivered our cake to the restaurant ahead of the party. Everyone complimented the design and taste of the cake so it was a big hit. I’d definitely go back to them for our next cake.“
“I am glad I saw their delivery van when I was driving by. I did a Uturn and hoped I stumbled on a yummy bakery. This place is gem. Small space for dining in so I decided to order a cappuccino and almond croissant to go and drive to a nearby park. I also got a container of their poppyseed hamantaschen cookies. Everything was top notch and delicious. Service was quick and friendly. First authentic croissant I have had in recent memory. I really appreciate that the baked goods were flavorful and not sugary. Perfect.“
“I ordered a Peter Rabbit cake (last minute) and they were able to accommodate the request - it was such a beautiful cake, but more importantly, the most delicious cake! Vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream and strawberry jam. Every single person at the party said it was the best cake they’d ever had! Thank you so much for the best cake!“
“Tried this place after searching for some of the best croissants. You can walk down church with your eyes closed and the smell will guide you right inside. The gentleman who greeted us was super friendly and welcoming. We got a couple plain croissants and an almond croissant just because it looked delicious. We got to work on the almond croissant the minute we walked out of the door. I've never been to France but I can't imagine almond croissants getting much better than this. Wonderful texture and a delicious flavor. The plain croissants were also on point. That almond one was the star though. I'll be back for more of those and definitely to try some other goodies. The bread looked amazing as well. Go! ENJOY!!!“
“This was my first time visiting Mattarello bakery and I will definitely come back! When I walked in - I was welcomed by smiling and happy barista. It was hard to choose what I wanted to try, they have a lot off different cookies, pastries and cakes, the lady who was working there helped me to choose the perfect pastries to try.I had bombolone donut with custard cream, lobster tail with chantilly cream and a large cappuccino.Everything tasted amazing.Fresh,a lot(!!!)of filling which made me really happy. For coffee lovers - they have different types of milk to choose for your cappuccino, latte or matcha latte.I had a cappuccino with almond milk and look at the cute bear!I can’t wait to come back another time to try something new!?☕️ “
“Do I feel like I'm "stepping out" on Belgiovine's when I'm in Montclair but decide to come here instead? (I do.) But it'll only take one visit for you to be a true believer as well. It's small. You walk in and aside from the squad of friendly workers at both main counters you'll first encounter the amazing breads (and treats). All the shapes, styles and sizes your carb-loving heart desires will be found on one of these racks. Expertly made... dense, sturdy, flavorful, with a mighty crust (that'll give your Fixodent a workout!). Take a few steps towards the 'back' and now you're at the deli and it's overflowing with options. Each item looks bewitching and alluring and before you can even finish saying, "A pound of..." - somehow it's already sliced and bagged and the guy is waiting on the next item you need. (Maybe it's that luscious square of eggplant parm that they've intentionally left "posed" on top of the spatula or the Italian hot dog platter or that mountain of sauteed broccoli rabe that you know it's going to have that perfect 'bite'.) And as soon as you get home you immediately start crafting what's to be a most perfect sandwich with their seeded semolina, fresh ball of mootz (so creamy and delectable), and a few other odds-and-ends you snagged. Thank goodness this town is big enough for more than one amazing Italian deli and I don't have to pick which is my all-time fave.“
“The aroma of baked goods hits you as soon as you walk through the door. The selection is widely diverse and plentiful. The staff are all pleasant and knowledgeable. I went there to pick up a holiday pre-order and it was very well organized. You can usually get street parking however there's also a municipal parking lot just around the corner.“
“Lovely shop, variety of pies including meat pies. I had the small key lime pie. I wish I had gotten the medium. It was so fresh and tart. The Graham cracker crust was fresh, and the lime was so good. Also had the chocolate chip scone warmed it up. It was really good.“
“Vegan cakes and cookies are lip-smackin delicious. If you’re not into dairy and eggs and butter in your baked goodies, you’ll be into Plum Bakery. Give it a shot, vegan friends.Vegetarian options: Cakes and cookiesDietary restrictions: Vegan, vegetarian“
“I had a delicious chai latte; I think it was something off the specials board, so it might not always be available. All non-dairy milks are offered here! WIN! My family members with me during this visit also had yummy drinks. You can expect strong coffee, flavorful chai, and satisfying sweets to go with it each time you visit. What are you waiting for? Go!“
“The strawberry matcha is delicious! But the prices are a bit high. The workers know all the daily’s but when I visited for my first time, I felt under appreciated. They shout out all the regulars but good luck to the newbies. The strawberry matcha was so good though!“
“TLDR: fun array of flavors, unique sourdough donut texture, decent beverages with coffee iced cubes, cute outdoor area when it’s warmLonger description:Donuts/baked goods: There’s the usual vanilla frosted donut with sprinkles and the like, but the best baked goods IMHO are the yum bun (decadence in cinnamon sugar-rolled dough form) and mini Nutella donut. The donuts have a heavier texture than the usual yeast donut (but it’s not a cake donut either), and there are special flavor sourdough donuts (like the horchata sourdough donut pictured with the yum bun and strawberry frosted with sprinkles donut). The donut frosting is always wet, no matter the time of day or what type of frosting. It always pools on the bottom of the box or in the hand. That’s not necessarily a problem, but it’s a note in case you care about that.Breakfast sandwiches: they’re there if you want something savory,Beverages: they’re a decent accompaniment to whatever you’re eating. They don’t have espresso as of the writing of this review, so no dirty chais or lattes. However, they have iced cubes made from coffee which make their iced beverages a delight.Parking: you can park on the street, and it’ll depend on the day and time whether you’ll get lucky enough to find a spot.Seating: there’s limited indoor seating (one bench-style table, basically) but when it warms up, you can order from the side window and laze around on the patio, which I highly recommend.“
“Wonderful place. Clean and well designed. Great coffee. Beans roasted on the spot. Not expensive compared to other places. We have ordered bunch of freshly made pastry were just so delishes ! Definitely coming back to try more pastries. Good job!!“
“Great meal and overall time here! Our server was super nice and friendly/helpful he really guided us through the menu and gave some great suggestions. The restaurant itself is super nice and cozy while being spacious, but oh man the food is unreal. We had the meatballs (so big and flavorful and smothered in sauce), the mushroom pizza which was loaded with mushrooms, super flavorful and unique. Also got the vodka pizza which was really great, we got extra vodka sauce on the side so we could really drown it and loved it. My friend got the gluten free and she said it's the first gluten free bread she's had that actually tastes like real bread and loved it.“
