“In town on business, and found this place on a Wednesday evening. Really enjoyed the visit. Had a rye old fashioned and the short rib tacos. Food, drink and service were great. Atmosphere was chill. Only criticism I would give is I think the music at the time didn’t fit the vibe. Just my opinion though. I will be back next time I’m in town.“

“I was searching for a new restaurant in Inwood, and I came across Fito. The reviews were good and the pictures looked inviting. I entered the small yet cozy restaurant and was greeted kindly by the waiter. I was seated at what I thought was the best table, right by the window on the side of the bar, and reviewed the simple yet interesting menu. It was hard to choose, but I ordered the salmon. I am reluctant to order salmon unless I am traveling to locations where it is fresh, however, I must say that this was the best salmon I've had in a long time. It was fresh, cooked perfectly, and had subtle flavors. I ordered the old-fashioned, and I'm a bit of a snob about my cocktails, however, this was quite good. Very nice atmosphere with excellent lighting, which is rare these days! The candle on the table was real as well, another rarity. I must also mention the music. A little loud, but fine. And quite interesting. They played electronica, and Depeche Mode and Erasure! What? In Inwood?? I'm a fan. We definitely return to explore the menu further.“

“As a Peruvian I have been to a fair share of Peruvian restaurants and also recently to Peru as well but I have to say this place takes the crown for best chicken. The food is incredible and you can tell that everything is made in house. Really flavorful, fresh food you have to try :) The owners are lovely and the atmosphere is so warm and welcoming.Parking: In the evening at least, there is a large lot to the left of the restaurant where we always park with no problems :)“

I am fond of the place but I have noticed a decline in the service and general upkeep of the restaurant though, especially since the pandemic began. Little things that could be improved like getting new menus bc the old ones are broken and sticky. Also the tables are sometimes sticky?“

In my pictures its the $12 Beef Stew Plate featuring yellow rice, beef stew in gravy sauce w/ potatoes and a cup on the side with red beans. “This restaurant used to be located more further down on westchester ave. It was called Monte de oro (gold mountain). I used to go there when I was a kid to a teenager. Then, it closed down. Thank god it relocated more up westchester ave. Under the name of el pabellon de oro (the flag of gold) It still had the same waiters & owner so I knew the food would be the same(delicious). It is a Chinese Spanish fusion. My go to dish is the steak w/ shrimp fried rice & plantano maduros(sweet plantains). Staff is ok. I like that the inside has a fish tank. It also has a lobster tank where you pick your own lobster. They had this in the old restaurant. The environment is just ok. I really came for the delicious food!!!“

The ladies serving were great and very attentive. I will definitely be back when I want authentic Ecuadorian food and don't want to cook it myself. The Chaufa was so good and such a large portion they clearly price the food knowing they are going to sell out. The ceviche mixto was amazing perfect lime and spicy level… I’ve always had to add lime or salt from other ceviches but not this one.The filete de pescado was perfectly cooked. I got the unlimited option and my daughter just got the entree with a canned soda (that cost $4) Con: When I walked in it smelled weird because the workers just mopped. The mop was not clean so it left an unpleasant odor lingering. The waitress was very attentive.“

“Loved this restaurant!! The food was AMAZING, from the empanadas, to the mofongo, to the tres leches! We had a large table (9) and everyone absolutely loved their meal. The portions are big, which was great for the price. The ambiance was also great, as they played great music. They also put the birthday girl's picture on the menu he which I thought was such a nice touch. The service was as phenomenal, our waitress was patient and super sweet! I will definitely return soon.
