“I stopped by for lunch. I’ve never had taco express and something told me to try it out today . I’m so glad that i did. Upon walking in i was greeted by Ajay who was busy with a customer but gave me a smile and told me he’d be with me shortly. Not even 30 seconds passed and out came Meena with a smile. She surprisingly asked if this was my first time and i told her yes. She walked me through the whole process and recommended her favorite to me and offered for me to taste them first(which was amazing because chipotle would never !) so i appreciated this very much. She was extremely patient. After choosing my favorite protein , Ajay came along and they both reccomended the best sauces to go along with my meal. These two are a Gem to this business . The chef also came out ( i wish i got his name ) but he was very nice and i made sure to tell him that the meat was so good it was hard for me to pick ! But at least now i know i can get other flavors since they’re all so tasty. Thanks again Meena and Ajay. I will definetly be back and be sure to recommend to my co workers.“

“I took my fiancé here for his birthday dinner last Saturday and it did not disappoint. My whole party loved the food and the drinks. They are definitely not cheap with the alcohol lol. The music is great. The vibe is amazing. Our waitress was Lorena and she was awesome. We loved this place so much we went back again yesterday for a date night. Amazing food and drinks again. “Came to this place not knowing what to expect but saw lots of great reviews and I can absolutely say it lived up to its ratings. Me and the fam got to try the tenders(hugee), ribs, rotisserie chicken, burgers, general tsos and chopped cheese sandwich and OH MY was it DELICIOUS. The people here were also very friendly and accommodating, they also had good music playing in the background. Definitely recommend this spot to anyone in or out of town. I will be coming back for more as it seems they updated their menu with some great new stuff that I can't wait to try. “This is the best place to get Mexican food in yonkers, I've tried a lot of places in the area but nothing comes close to here. I've had Tacos Al Pastor, Tacos Dorados and Enchiladas de Mole Poblano. They also make incredible in house hot sauces. The only thing they do not have is any hard liquor on site, so don't expect margaritas but the food is enough to satisfy anyone, come check out this hidden gem in Yonkers!“

“I've been to Tobalá a couple of times since they opened, and their food, drinks, and service have always been great. But last night, they were absolutely stunning. I tried a few dishes (Memelas de Wagyu and Enmoladas de Pato) for the first time, and I was in shock, super delicious!! I want to congratulate their staff and owners for their constant effort to elevate the experience at Tobalá and improve every day, bringing this beautiful concept to the community. They do have 2 for 1 specials on drinks, but otherwise no other deals or happy hour specials. The seating is well spaced considering the restaurant is smaller. Being able to see into the kitchen as they make the food makes it that much tastier. I really feel connected when I can see them fresh pressing the tortillas ? It's very cool. I will say, the fish taco was my least favorite of the foods we ate. I felt like the actual fish got lost under the delicious sauce and well seasoned breading. It was overall tasty, but I wasn't getting much fish flavor with all the other stuff going on. I started working in the area recently and although there’s taco spots on every block, I make the 10 minute walk here every day with no problem. The food is amazing, the meat tender and not dry. And the staff is extremely kind and welcoming. The lady makes my food with love every time and I feel at home. Thank you guys so much for your hospitality. Will be coming here forever :)“

“I got the Gutierrez Torta and it is one of the best tortas I have ever tried!The horchata was quite satisfying too and the staff were friendly. We did have a couple of miscommunications with the order and the meats on the tacos were a little dry. “Burgers and Chinese food at one place, never would have thought! Burgers were good, big and juicy, and relatively inexpensive. The "caramelized onions" were those fried onions you get from a can and not really caramelized onions. But for 10 bucks with fries and a can of soda, im ok with it.“

We arrived at around noon and may have been the first people to show up for the day. Given how quiet the restaurant was, we didn't want to get our hopes up but BOY did this place deliver. As soon as we took our first bite of the complementary (and addicting) warm black bean dip with fresh, salty tortillas we knew we were in for a treat! I ordered the burrito which was loaded with the most flavorful and perfectly cooked chicken. My fiancee ordered tacos (4 per order) - 2 fish and 2 barbacoa. The tacos and salsas were super fresh and tasty. I love that they didn't try to overcomplicate anything - just extremely delicious food without the need for gastronomics and extra flair. Even though this is about a 25 minute drive from us, I definitely think we'll be making another trip back!“

Despite the crowd, mainly families with young children, and the noise, we eventually secured a table for four. Our orders included birria tacos and Mexican Elote from La Chula Taqueria, a burger with fries from Harlem Public, and a Dominican pizza from the renowned Wahizza. The food surpassed our expectations; my son particularly enjoyed the birria tacos and Mexican Elote. Personally, I found nostalgia in the Dominican Pizza, reminiscent of my childhood in the Dominican Republic. “We had a great time here! I had driven by it for so long, but never stopped in. They have a freshly paved parking lot and they keep the grounds and the building in great shape. It was easy to find a spot and easy to get in and out. We made a reservation so we didn't have to wait and they seated us as soon as our whole party arrived. We ordered a couple of the awesome gigantic margaritas with mini bottles sticking out of them, but it was unfortunate that they were $26 a piece. Our food was all really tasty and the servers were really nice. We had a great time all around. The place is definitely on my radar now for a return visit.“

“Great addition to the list of authentic Mexican restaurants in 138th street. The food and service are stellar at the upscale Hacienda Agave. We started out with appetizers- tortas with chicharrón, ceviche, tlacoyo, tuna tostadas and esquisites. It was all delicious. Next up were quesadilla de Carnitas: soo good! The mole de pollo which was phenomenal and every dish tasted better than the next. The Chamorra was my favorite- lamb shank in a rich stew, we also had the Branzino- which came beautifully wrapped in corn husk, it was moist and had a very delicate scent of herbs. For dessert: the churros were crispy and soft with dulce de leche. The tres leches was perfect and not too sweet and the flan was velvety and rich. The cocktails are varied and there are choices for all tastes. I started off with a non alcohol drink- cucumber and ginger- the bar was so accommodating and made our dinner party horchata martinis and a non alcoholic horchata martini! Highly Recommend !“
