Great service, tasty food, good pricing... everything I tried in La Cocina so far was tasty and the way the service is provided make it taste even better. It can't get 5* as a restairant because it's kind of bistro/eatery, but food is better than in many "restaurants" with table service. It is a pleasure to eat there. And there is a deck in the back - hard to believe you are in the middle of Newark.

I use to visit here often being a student at Rutgers U. I’ve since graduated so I haven’t been here in the area in while. I stopped today for lunch. I was highly disappointed. I got the baked chicken with rice. The chicken was very salted. I couldn’t finish it because of the over powering salt. I don’t think I’ll be going back.
