“Translated from the Italian meaning Beautiful Light, this establishment opened in March 2015 and is located on a busy Franklin Avenue in Nutley. Bella Luce has a trendy yet casual vibe and serves authentic Italian cuisine. My partner, our friends and I came as first-timers for dinner tonight. Reservations were easily made via Open Table. Upon entering, we had to wait a few minutes for the host and got to look around the dark and classy interior, with a well-arranged bar area in the middle dividing the two dining rooms. We were promptly seated on the quieter side to the right and could hear the upbeat music playing throughout the restaurant. The menu comprised all of your typical Italian dishes along with several tasty daily specials. As starters, we opted for the Crispy Calamari and their special, the Bruschetta. For our main meal, we decided on Short Rib Pappardelle, Grilled Pork Chop, Chicken Oreganata, and Rigatoni Bolognese. Complimentary warm bread with softened butter started our meal. The food was fresh, delicious, and well seasoned. The short-rib pappardelle pasta, which I had, was outstanding. Cooked al dente, just like it has to be, is served at the perfect temperature with an excellent ratio of pasta, sauce, and meat. The portion was perfect. During our meal, the owner, Joe, walked to all the tables to greet everyone, making sure everything was to our liking. The service was perfect, not overbearing but always there and our server was Cali. We had a great dinner, which we can recommend.“

Some people that rated low here are people taking out their bad days on the staff/owner even when they attempt to rectify whatever issue it is. Hidden gem too since they've been operating for years! I've been eating here since I was in elementary school too! Highly recommended giving this place a shot!“
“We always pass by this place and we finally had the time to come here. We ordered Pepperoni Pizza and Mussels. They were both really delicious. The place was busy answering the phone for orders and delivery. Staff were really nice. I highly recommend this place if you are nearby the area.“
“Have the Chicken Dominick you won't be sorry! Delicious buttery and just the right texture and seasoning. Fresh bread rolls baked on site . I couldn't fit dessert or id tell you about that also I took a bite of my aunts Picatta that was also wonderful. Worth it. There is also parking just before the building.“

I order it at least two times a week with so many great appetizers and entrées to choose from and also dessert is included. You can’t go wrong. My favorite place in Nutley.?“
“Probably the best Pizza in Nutley. The right ratio of sauce and cheese. Definitely way better and bigger than the ‘famous’ place in town.Perfect crust, you can easily fold the slice without it flopping.The dishes are generously portioned, including the protein, no rationed thin slices of chicken. Definitely no shrinkflation at Loue’s.“
“Just amazing pizza. Cracker thin crust lets you eat slice after slice without feeling bloated. Warning: this place is for serious eaters! Dieters and vegans stay home (although there are vegetable sandwich options!). Try something you think you won't like and I promise you'll love it. I had the Marciano sandwich. It's enough for three meals. Several pounds of the most moist, shredded short rib in its juice topped with frizzled thin onions and melted Swiss on the most perfect long roll. I am drooling from the memory of devouring it. Also, the staff is so polite. And the prices are very fair. You can usually find parking on the side streets. Go and treat yourself! Just try to get a reservation though because they tend to book at lunch and they are almost always booked for dinner.“
“Pizza is amazing!! I ordered a thin crust pie (well done of course) and it was cooked to perfection. The sauce has a sweet taste to it that some might not like but I think it’s awesome! The crust was crispy, a little flop, a little greasy but not over the top. I would definitely be stopping here whenever I’m in the mood for pizza. I’ve tried the other places in town and I think this might be the best one.Parking: They have a parking lot. Seems like it can get really tight if this place is ever packed.“
