The drinks are fantastic, The Monk Fashioned being my favorite, reminds me of a magical Sazerac. The food here is delicious too, been a couple times and look forward to returning again soon. Love the Sweet And Salty Grilly with Gruyère, Prosciutto, Fig Spread, Arugula on Sour Dough. “I've been to Tobalá a couple of times since they opened, and their food, drinks, and service have always been great. But last night, they were absolutely stunning. I tried a few dishes (Memelas de Wagyu and Enmoladas de Pato) for the first time, and I was in shock, super delicious!! I want to congratulate their staff and owners for their constant effort to elevate the experience at Tobalá and improve every day, bringing this beautiful concept to the community. “This restaurant is phenomenal. The food is fantastic! So much so that we came on Cinco de Mayo and waited for a table just to get in. They do have 2 for 1 specials on drinks, but otherwise no other deals or happy hour specials. The seating is well spaced considering the restaurant is smaller. Being able to see into the kitchen as they make the food makes it that much tastier. I really feel connected when I can see them fresh pressing the tortillas ? It's very cool. I will say, the fish taco was my least favorite of the foods we ate. I felt like the actual fish got lost under the delicious sauce and well seasoned breading. It was overall tasty, but I wasn't getting much fish flavor with all the other stuff going on. “Nice place. All food is good. Quick service. Really small place, only has about 8 tables. Had 2 strawberry margaritas. 1st one in a highball glass with a very dry lime wedge, decent. The 2nd one was in a short glass with another dry lime wedge that tasted different and not as good as the 1st one. Bad lime season so not the bars fault.Parking: Very small parking lot. Few spots in the street. After hours you can park in the post office parking lot across the street.Wheelchair accessibility: None in the front of building. I don't know about the back.“

Went once and now regularly drive an hour just to come here for the red snapper and Pollo al ajillo which is my favorite (huge garlic fan). The appetizers are portioned well for the price and delightful to your taste buds. Make sure you make reservations on a Saturday evening. The customer service is pleasant and they made sure they accommodated to their customers well. Just a side note currently the restaurant doesn’t serve liquor but is byob. Both of us work either behind a bar or at a restaurant— we could not be more unanimous in our verdict that Cocteleria Perla Negra is one of the best cocktail bars in New York. Bonus points to the “Curry Island” and “Guanabana and Soda,” two of the best drinks that have ever crossed our lips. “01.25.24 This is the hottest bar that I've been to this year. I haven't been uptown socially for a number of years. Coincidentally, I met someone that lived in the area. We hit a speakeasy first, then a restaurant and stopped at Uptown Bourbon for a nightcap. When I walked in, I almost lost my mind. The vibe was sooo strong in this space. The bronze tin roof, the mood lighting and the Technics turntable at the end of the bar with a collection of vintage classics swept me off my feet!!! Can this date get any better?! I was already in 7th heaven, this date could not be defeated!!! I do not remember the names of the bartenders (barhopping has that affect on me) one was a guy with short black hair and the woman had dirty blond hair below her shoulders. Both bartenders were chill and very knowledgeable. The next time that I return, I will try to hit UPTOWN first. I'm determined to vibe with the bartenders. SP“
