A traditional dish that is open-faced khachapuri with a blended cheese, topped with raw egg. The egg is mixed into the cheese tableside. SOOOO GOOOOD!!!! It was so good that I had one as an appetizer and one for dinner. I also enjoyed Mushroom Khinkali (Georgian Dumplings) - another delicious dish. Lastly, I had one of their spreads - Spinach Pkhali: Spinach, walnut paste, onion, garlic, coriander and topped with Pomegranate Seeds. Head mixologist/bartender Cyllan walked me through a few of his favorites and had me sampling everything from his frozen rum punch (absolutely delightful) to his green bean pickle brine (very briny). They made me a pisco sour from last season's menu and followed it up with the Mai Tai. Both were good, better than good even. They use a vegan foaming agent instead of egg white, if that sort of thing matters to you. Average price around $19/drink at the time of this writing. The rest of the staff was attentive and friendly. The music was a bit loud for 4:30PM on a Tuesday. Bathroom was clean.“

The women's restroom has a lounge with beautiful vanity mirrors. The pasta a la presse was a highlight of the night because it was delicious but also because it was prepared table side with an explanation of its origin. The bread for the table had a lot of variety and was delicious. For my entree I had the lobster which was beautiful and tasted divine. The baked Alaska is a must for dessert since it's set ablaze at the table! If you're having trouble making a reservation we were able to secure ours with the Dorsa app.“
“Ate at Chama Mama in the Upper West side last January at a friend's recommendation, and it was my first time tasting Georgian Cuisine. It was great! I got the basic Khachapuri and the Khinkali (Georgian dumplings), and both came in big servings. They were both delicious as well, and the person at the counter also shared how to eat the dishes the traditional Georgian way. Would highly recommend!“

“Great addition to "nicer" Turkish restaurants around NYC --for date nights. The atmosphere, food, and staff were all wonderful. Even though we had reservations, the place was not overly packed on a Friday night, which I appreciate. There is also seating available at the bar. We got two delicious cocktails and manti (delicious), stuffed wine leaves with cherry sauce (delicious), icli kofte (delicious), and lokum kebab (which were good too, but nothing crazy). I would definitely go back and recommend this place to friends.“

The only complaint I had was for the cheese corn riblets - they just quartered the corn cobs for this dish so you still have to bite the corn off the cob section, instead of just cutting the kernels off into riblets like most restaurants do. Makes it messier than necessary. The $16-18 bottles of Kikusui sake on the menu are a definite plus!“

The service was impeccable not hovering but there any time we needed anything, with waiter, maitre D, and Chef all checking in on us. We started with the Cesare Cups loved the take on it. The Scallops crudo was sweet and tender and topped with a lovely portion of caviar. The baked oysters yummy. Portions are definitely ample. Then we had the oxtail trofie. The oxtail just melted with each bite of pasta. And finally came out the roasted duck. It may have been my favorite duck breast ever. So tender and flavorful. The veggies that it came with added to the flavor perfectly. I will go back just for that. The only disappointment was the chocolate mousse but the chef brought out some delicious chocolate chip cookies so nothing missed. Highly recommend checking this one out“

The vibe in this place is so lovely - it’s very intimate, a great spot for a date. I tried the Desert Bloom and it was so delicious!! My partner had the Active Spin for a take on an Old Fashioned and he loved it. We tried a couple bar snacks, too - the Crispy Goat Cheese + Spiced Nuts were perfect small plates for sharing (and tasted so good)!!
