“Second time here, both for lunch, and both delicious!Had the meatballs over rice with salad and a mint limeade. I asked the server for drink recs and he let me taste all of his faves.Need to come back for the dukka fries because they look amaaaazing. They also still have outdoor seating - Happy to have!Vegetarian options: Lots of flavorful vegetarian options and sauces!“
“Incredible & welcoming customer service. Delicious food. Huge portions at affordable prices. The owner Shlomo goes out of his way to ensure everyone is taken care of.We drive over an hour at least twice a month just cause we enjoy our food experience.Highly recommend!“
“All of these old school Gyro shops are closing their doors. Proper Greek gyro on the pit, very fresh, delicious, quick and for a fair price. Worth the trip down from Mahwah now and again. The staff is very friendly and the place is small and very clean.“
“Underrated GEM! How lucky am I to have found this place? Mediterranean food is growing on me and I crave it so often now. Finding this place is a game changer! While I wasn't expecting a place like this to have $25 menu items, it's totally worth it! We got the grilled lamb chops for $25 which is a bit pricey but believe me when I tell you it's worth it! While waiting for our takeout, we chatted up the nice lad at the counter who was kind enough to tell us more about the neighborhood and what there is to do out here. Place is small and basic, i would likely order for takeout than dine in.“
“The koshary here is really really good (and vegan!), possibly my favorite meal in Jersey City. (it's a large portion of lentils, chickpeas, rice, and noodles mixed together, with multiple sauces to mix in that really make the dish - only available on Saturdays). The five stars are for the koshary, but the falafel is pretty good too - it's covered with coriander seeds that give it a good flavor (though the accompaniments the falafel comes with in the pita or plate are nothing special).“
“Hands down this is the best falafel I have ever had. So fresh, so tasty, and is truly made with love. The interior of this restaurant is very unique and homey. I also had the kufta sandwich that has since become my new favourite. The service is always top notch and the plate presentation is always very impressive.“
“OMG, everything I’ve had here is amazing! The staff is lovely and friendly also. Can’t say enough good things, just go and get some mouth watering food. I go there once every few weeks because, I never want to get tired of it. Great choice for vegans and vegetarians also.Vegetarian options: Best moist falafels, humus, baba ghanoush. cauliflower is amazing, salads“
“Really good! I had the chicken shawarma platter and the chicken was perfectly flavored but it was a bit overcooked and dry. It was right before closing so I won't hold it against them. The rice was really flavorful and fluffy. The salad was delicious. would return again!“
“Best food option in the area by a long shot. Great falafel, vegan & nut free friendly, generous portions, nice and saucy, and extremely reasonably priced. The owner is super friendly as well. 5/5Vegetarian options: VeganDietary restrictions: Nut free“
“If you want great falafel at a reasonable price, Mamoun's is it. Their falafel has been a staple of the West Village for decades. They also have other food, but the falafel is so good, we can never pass it up.Very limited seating, so be prepared to eat on the go.“
“I’ve been visiting this place regularly for the past 3 years. Definitely one of the best places to eat at. The food is always delicious and Zuzu and everyone who works there always take care of their customers. 10/10 must try the chicken platter and their pita is surely one of the best ones out “
“It's 2:30am on a Saturday night. You are drunk and starving. Only two things you can think of is a hot slice of pizza or halal food.Stumbled upon this tiny convenience store serving halal food after a rowdy night of dancing & drinking. Went in and ordered their falafel plate - pretty standard, topped with salad, white sauce and hot sauce. One bite into that falafel and OMFG I was in heaven. The perfectly crunchy outside and the beautifully soft, bright green stuffing scooped along with the buttery saffron rice nicely soaking up the sauces - it just HIT THE SPOT. The spice level was so good and the quantity is enough to finish it in one go and you're back in business. This is really an excellent spot to satisfy your halal cravings, be it falafel or chicken over rice etc. The quality is also better than your regular halal cart.Give it a go & join me in heaven ;)“
“What a find ...am picky but this place checks all the boxes be it flavor , cleanliness, fresh, friendly staff, portion size and by the way fries are just amazing . Yes the meat did felt a little bit chewy but am sure the team is working on it and get there soon .. hoping to get there soon again.“
“The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the service was prompt. Whether you're a local looking for a quick, satisfying lunch or in need of a dependable catering partner, this Vegetarian Falafel Food Truck has got you covered. I can't recommend it enough!“
“10/10 for the fries, but wouldn't call home for the falafel sandwich. Ba'al Cafe is a tiny shop serving up falafel sandwiches, fries and other Mediterranean style foods. The fillings for the sandwiches were delicious, but the pita was lacking. Unfortunately their pitas aren't made fresh and are store bought. On the other hand, the za'atar were so delicious!! If you're a fan of crispy and flavorful fries, this is your place to go!! The staff here are also super nice, but it does take a while to get your food. We went on a Saturday and there were only 3 employees working. Plus they were missing a lot of dishes from the menu, which was a bummer. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. But if you're in the neighborhood looking for a cheap bite, this is a solid place. Also keep in mind there's very limited seating. You might find it easier to order takeaway rather than dine in. Must try: Za'atar fries The damage: for 3 sandwiches and fries the total was around $30! Hard to find a meal this cheap and filling in NYC“
“Jerusalem Pizza Falafel is definitely one of the best establishments in the Passaic Park area. I absolutely love the falafel, which is always of a generous size and very much well worth the extra expense. Their soups are always tasty, my favorite being the lentil, and the knishes (my loves being the kasha and the spinach) are delicious. It's always a great take home for me, and I can't give enough superlatives to the staff, all of whom make you feel welcome (once you get to the counter).Vegetarian options: There are numerous vegetarian and vegetable dishes that are available for consumption if one is not eating meat.Kid-friendliness: There's always a group of kids in the restaurant, all having a good time enjoying the food and themselves.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a wheelchair accessible entrance that comes in quite conveniently for those who are mobility impaired, and the aisles are wide enough to service those in wheelchairs and walkers.Dietary restrictions: There are numerous restrictions and specifications in a traditional Jewish diet, and rules that must be adhered to. Jerusalem Pizza on its menu board lists everything available according to the rules it follows in a simple understandable way.“
