“Quaint little spot with parking in the back. Friendly pleasant staff & good food. Went on a Friday afternoon and had the place to ourselves. The amazing seasonings in the rice was our fave, the hummus and pita, and falafel was also great. The mint lemonade hit the spot and the lentil soup was yummy. Only disappointment was with how oily the fries were. We barely touched it. Aside from this, we enjoyed our time here and would return.“

After we were graciously seated without a reservation (try to book ahead because you really won't want to miss this place), the staff was so kind, friendly, and attentive. “4 out of 5 stars. I've visited this place on numerous occasions and even had their food catered for my birthday celebration. Tonight, I dined with a group of five. We waited for an hour and a half to be seated, followed by another hour for our food to arrive. While the food is tasty, it's not worth waiting over two hours. The manager gave us complimentary tea, but overall, the experience falls short of a perfect score for me.“

“Wow this was the best middle Eastern food I've had at a restaurant. I wish I had a chance to meet the owner because I have so much respect for the multitude of levels her dishes had. I had one dish that could be tasted in 5 different ways with the variety of sauce combinations available on the plate alone. The prices to me were well below what they deserved to be. Whenever I go back to New York I will definitely be back here. It also hit close to home for me because my Sita used to make kibeh and it was a joy trying an elevated version of what she used to make from the pistachio baklava to the kibeh itself. So happy this place exists.“

“Alright! Where do i begin?! There were 4 people behind the counter and when i walked in, all four greeted me. The manager greeted at the ordering station and didnt overwhelm me to order my food as this was the first time being there. He asked me if id like any suggestions and we landed on the chicken platter with spicy chickpeas rice and cole slaw. Everything about this bowl was immaculate. The chicken was well seasoned and spiced, the chick peas were tender and savory, and the rice was such a great compliment to the protein. I also ordered their fries because why not!The portion size was generous but not overbearing. They had the mexican coke glass bottles which was a great choice to wash the food down with. I got the brown to top it all off and it was amazing. Chipotle, Qdoba, Halal Guys even have nothing on Juicy Platters. I definitely will be coming back with the family!“

“East Village stroll on a warm Sunday in March. Hadn't had schwarma in a long time and saw someone post about it on IG. Had the schwarma west pita with chicken, amba, tahina, harissa. So flavorful, fresh ingredients and packed ... pita didn't fall apart. Love that they mix all of the ingredients together so you don't get layered bites. I took half home and unless there is extra chicken hiding on the bottom, I felt like it could have used more. $15 ($16.34 with tax). Super friendly service. Would recommend and look forward to trying the falafel next time.“

“I tried EFI’s today from just passing by without looking at any reviews/ knowledge about the place i was PLEASANTLY surprised on the food! I got 2 lamb gyros and spanakopita to go. The lamb meat was GOOD but I got some nasty hard pieces. But, after getting rid of the pieces the gyros were great STUFFED with fries and I Loved it! I would 100% go back but i would personally try the chicken instead. The spanakopita was great and enough to share between two!“

“You have a fair number of Middle Eastern bakery options on Paterson, and the standard is fairly high across the board just to keep up with the competition and stay in business. That being said, the Alhamadanya Sweets is outstanding in every way. With a mind blowing assortment of Middle Eastern sweets and great service. All the sweets we sampled was delicious and superior. Their individual pastries are works of art and they taste great too and are definitely habit forming!“

We started with an order of Zaatar fries [where have you been all my life]. They arrived crispy and seasoned to perfection. “The koshary here is really really good (and vegan!), possibly my favorite meal in Jersey City. (it's a large portion of lentils, chickpeas, rice, and noodles mixed together, with multiple sauces to mix in that really make the dish - only available on Saturdays). The five stars are for the koshary, but the falafel is pretty good too - it's covered with coriander seeds that give it a good flavor (though the accompaniments the falafel comes with in the pita or plate are nothing special).“
