“I was hosting a dinner party and was scrambling to find a local Latin place that delivers (used DoorDash).I had Colombians, Puerto Ricans and Mexicans in attendance, and EVERYONE raved about how delicious the food was. I ordered the rice/chicken/pernil special, red beans and maduros. I would CERTAINLY order again.“
“Outstanding food and service. Highly recommend tuna con coco ceviche, caldo santo (halibut), and pasteles de Cordero (lamb).Dietary restrictions: I am on a dairy-free and gluten-free diet, and the server went out of his way to help with ensuring both were accommodated.“
“I absolutely loveeeeeeee this restaurant!!!! Their coconut mojitos is the best thing everrrrrrrrr! The ambiance of the restaurant makes you feel as though you have transported to Cuba! I love the decor and the music that was played while we were there. Their pressed bread with mango butter is to die for!!!!! First round is on them but then you'll have to pay extra for another round and that makes sense. On the weekend the restaurant turns into a nightclub which I think is awesome! It's 20$ entry fee but if you are there your receipt is eligible for two weeks to get in for FREE! Def 10/10 !!!“
“I've been meaning to try this place for so long and saw that they were recently put on GrubHub so tried them for lunch today. I got the San Jose beef barbacoa burrito. It was excellent. Grilled really nicely on the outside and everything inside was super flavorful. Will definitely be trying some of their Cuban sandwiches next!“
“I recently moved to the neighborhood and my family and I have had nothing but excellent experiences with the staff and quality of food recieved. I also work locally and our staff lunches are often supplied and everyone is well fed and satisfied. Amigos is an asset to the community and a joy to patronize on a daily basis. Desserts are extra special!!!“
“We love coming here ! The food is always excellent and the service is always so attentive and friendly. We always ask for Ruth to take care of us since she is the sweetest and has always best recommendations when we want to try something other than our usual. She always goes above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We always have a great time at Tierra and will be back soon !“
“Wow. This food was AMAZING! I got the #3 Grand Boss, which came with 2 meats, yellow rice, plantains, and a small side salad. There is so much food for $15.99 that I have enough for three meals! I chose the pork for both meats and it is soooooo juicy! The yellow rice is the best I have ever had! This was my first time ordering from Las Palmas but it certainly will not be the last!“
“Spectacular for what it is. It’s Guatemalan street food served with style but without affectation. I had the chicken taquitos, which were crispy, hot, and served in a very distinctive sauce. It’s presumably slightly more expensive than real street food just as it is fancier, but it’s hardly pricey. I just wish their portions were slightly larger.“
“Corner store turned cocina, surprisingly warm and inviting. As vegetarians, we enjoyed the veggie burrito and chile rellenos which were expertly flavored and the complementary tres leches cake was second to none. BYOB. Friendly service. Clean and inviting atmosphere. Good enough for Craig Labain, good enough for me.“
“Very accommodating of a group of 10 that grew to 12 at the last minute. The food was excellent, although I wish I'd asked how big the Boda salad was (answer: very big and also very good). If you like habanero tinged cocktails, I recommend the Spicy Mango Margarita.“
“This was my first visit, and likely not my last. When I entered, the atmosphere was very welcoming, positive as well as clean. The food is fresh, delicious and on point. And the service is outstanding.Check them out if you’re in the mood for some Puerto Rican food.“
“Sara crafts the most delicious Margaritas that are simply irresistible. I highly recommend making a reservation to secure your spot. The spiced beef nachos were not only delicious but also generously portioned; I suggest sharing them with a friend.Don't miss out on this vegan culinary delight!“
“Latin food is amazing - lots of grilled meats and chicken dishes with huge portions. Very modest dine-in area but pleasant table service . Seem to do an enormous carry out business. It is BYOB. We loved the appetizers especially pork rinds with yucca!Prices are moderate.“
“Wow! Can I tell you something? This place has amazing food! Fresh everything (tortillas, salsa, etc) and extremely well made. Really it’s some of the best I’ve had in Philly. And I loved the atmosphere and extremely kind customer service. Come here if you know good, real food.“
“I've eaten here several times. The portions are filling for the price. I got the rice and pigeon peas and fried pork from their steam table. My coworker got the same plus an empanada and fried plantains. Those were cooked after order and tasted delicious!“
“This place is fire. Its a really good price for how much food you get. These Spanish places where it’s cafeteria style is my favorite because the food will change everyday. I got beef stew, yucca, rice &beans, will definitely be back. The beef was flavorful and the gravy was awesome and enhanced already really good rice and beans“
“(Translated by Google) Very good reception and the kind attention of the pretty women who attend the place. , a very Latin flavor, exquisite flavor.(Original)Muy buena recepción y la amabilisima atención de las lindas mujeres k atienden el lugar. , un sabor muy latino , exquisito sabor .“
“Food was fantastic and the order was on time for the requested pick up, I even got a call back to confirm my order was ready. I didn't get platters this time, I ordered everything a la carte, by the pound. We got Pernil, chicharron, tostones, arroz con gandules, stewed beef, guineo, beans, and white rice with extra gravy. Online ordering was also a breeze, the layout was straight forward and very intuitive. It gave you options and even a small section for special requests. Definitely one of my new favorite spots to drop in to for a hearty meal. I'll be back again to try the rest of the menu and looking forward to grabbing some pastelillos.“
“I've lived in the neighborhood for 4 years and never stopped before, the food always smells so good. I finally ordered today and it was a nice experience. The staff was polite, the prices are reasonable, The food is delicious and they give you a good amount of food. I ordered the yellow rice and beans with roasted pork and an order of Tostadas. Everything was seasoned well. I would recommend to others and I will be going back in the future.“
“Loved the food. Absolutely delicious. Me and my friend bought beef birria tacos and it was one of the best food I have had. So much flavor once you bite into it. Sadly there is not really a dining space, so we had to do takeout. However, I will be back to try more items.“
“I’ve been following the owner for years now and when I found out she settled in Philadelphia, since then, I’ve traveled countless times from New York just to have a taste of THIS Dominican food and I’ve got to say it’s absolutely amazing. Very authentic, flavor is delicious, customer service is super friendly and welcoming. The drinks are refreshing and are made CRISP daily, the atmosphere is cozy and a great space just to vibe. Summer time dinning in has AC and it’s on BLAST making the atmosphere comfortable. If you’re looking for great authentic Dominican cuisine in Philadelphia I’d recommend KAKU.“
“Food is soooooo good! Love the arroz con gandules and arroz con camarones in the cute oyas. Steak is tender. Ceviche is so fresh and yummy! Ropa vieja sooo good!!! Reasonable prices. Always something happening and they do a lot for and in the community. Happy hour 3-6pm, Taco Tuesdays 2 for $5, Thursdays karaoke, Free salsa lessons on Tuesdays at 8pm, comedy shows and live music on various weekends and they go ALL OUT for holidays w decor...big celebration coming up for Cinco de Mayo. An oasis in the community! Big space & 10 mins from Center City. Took friends there for my birthday and they ALLLLL loved it and some even ordered food to take home. They host events, fundraisers, birthdays. Many community leaders frequent the restaurant and host their events here. Plenty of free parking. Welcoming & fun atmosphere w professional & courteous staff. Stylish decor where can have privacy in a booth, a large table of friends, or sit around the bar which is always packed. They also have hookah.Highly recommend! And kid-friendly!“
“We dined in on a Friday night and it was decently busy. We were given complimentary chicken noodle soup. Flavorful soup with a lot of pieces of chicken in it. For those who do not eat authentic foods from other countries, be warned that there are chicken bones in the soup. We ordered chorizo, beef, and beef cheesesteak empanadas. The empanadas are bigger in size than what I'm used to buying. The chorizo empanada was the best- flavor blast. The beef one was too salty. The cheesesteak one didn't have as much flavor. We all loved the Oxtail / Rabo - Yellow Rice with Pigeon Peas. The oxtail was tender. The stew was packed full of flavor. My Vietnamese friend said it reminded him of Bò Kho (Viet beef stew). We enjoyed the pernil with chicharrón mofongo. The pork had a Smokey flavor to it, but it was a bit drip. We drizzled the oxtail soup on top which made it delicious. This all came out to be $51 with tip included. We bought chicharrón to go. 0.72lb was about $7. It was super crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.“
“Whewww honey , I am writing this post and enjoying my platter !!!! Talk about authentic Dominican food . It’s not a place to sit down, this is a grab and go, but the food is good, has a nice spicy kick, melts in your mouth. That chicken platter with rice, gravy from the stew chicken , and platanos, 10/10. Come eat the right way.“
“Totally worth the trip!! everything was fresh and wonderful! The crispy tacos were crispy... even when I got home! The soft tacos, bowl and burrito were seasoned well and huge:) the chips were perfect with the yummy guacamole, and the churros finished everything off beautifully! The place was clean, the staff gave suggestions and wore masks. Seriously worth the trip!“
“I just got a chicken kabab, corn fritter, and chicken and cheese. Let me tell you THE ABSOLUTE BEST CHICKEN I HAVE EVER GOTTEN AROUND. AMAZING corn fritters. They were nice, fast AF, and it is a clean establishment. I will 100% be going there ALL of the time now. My favorite now. I'm going to be obsessed for a while now. It was cheap too. Definitely recommend!!“
“I love this place so much. It truly is a Gem within my city. I always come in for the Acai Bowls, & Elotes. They’re so welcoming and pleasantly vibrant, really spoken to the heart of their culture. There’s no place like this anywhere near me so I’m thankful for this family owned business. ❤️“
