“Went in for a rubin, but the bakery forgot to deliver rye bread. No problem at all. Got a half a sub..which I stop eating for yrs. It was perfect amount of everything, plus the bread was. After talking with the owner, found out her father owned the deli in the 80's. When I worked on the road crew , this was the 1st stop for lunch , when in the area. Very nice and happy atmosphere.“
“Once in awhile you come across a business owner who takes enormous pride in their products, and makes them as though they are making it for their own family. I called Cioffi's and got Jerry the owner, who helped make my friend's birthday extra special by honoring my request for a heart-shaped pizza to be delivered to his house on his birthday. Jerry was in on it from the moment I explained what I wanted, as excited and joyful about the surprise as I hoped our friend would be! He was excited about our idea, excited for my friend, and excited to play his part in the whole thing. He even sent me texts as he was preparing it and just before he gave it to the delivery guy. “in november i was taking a walk and suddenly i felt very disoriented and light headed and my heart was pounding. i came here and ordered an egg cheese ham bagel and got an arizona iced tea thinking maybe i was hungry or my blood sugar was low. but i still felt this way for an hour or 2 and i was seeing stars. they told me the store was closing and they were cleaning up and i told them what was happening and the owner asked if i needed an ambulance and i said i couldnt make the walk back home as it was super dark and it was already hard to see because of my vision being dim and i didnt know if i would pass out, and i told him i didnt have a ride home and he said his wife would be leaving work soon and she could drop me off, but i didnt want to trouble him so i said it was okay and i managed to get my dad to drop me off at my house. very sweet people, i am glad they showed care.“

“The two gentlemen behind the counter were very pleasant. They have a decent menu selection. For the most part, it does not matter if you get a half or a whole sub because you’re not getting a deal by getting the whole sub. Example: most half subs are $7.99 whereas the whole sub is $15.99. There are a few where the whole sub gives you a $.50 savings. Today I did get a cheesesteak with extra provolone cheese, onions, hot peppers and a special hot sauce that they make. I’m glad I got the extra cheese because it definitely needed that and the condiments that were on there were very good. The meat itself didn’t taste like anything special but it wasn’t bad. It seems all of their cold cuts are Thummann’s which is high-quality. I do believe that the cheesesteak sub needed more meat. The meat itself did not even cover the bread end to end. One one end of the sub there was nothing but the bread by about 1.5” and 2” of nothing at the other end. So about 3.5 inches of the 16 inch sub was just bread. In all reality, I believe you are better off going with a half cheesesteak and double everything so you get a full sandwich with half of the bread. I cannot speak for any other sandwich as this is the first time I was there and the only item that I did purchase, as far as the entrée goes. I did get a small thing of potato salad, which was some store-bought stuff just scooped into little containers that was just meh. My meal of a cheesesteak, small potato salad and a Diet Coke can came to just over $20.“

“Went here for the first time recently to pick up some frozen ravioli and discovered their delicious prepared foods. I ordered two huge rice balls (1 fed two of us). One was cheese and spinach and the other was cheese, peas and ground beef. Also ordered a piece of eggplant Parmesan- again enough for two of us. Everything was delectable!!! The frozen ravioli, eggplant parm and two rice balls were $35 - but fed us for a few meals There were a few tables if you want to eat there but it's more conducive to take out. They also had eggplant rolentini, breaded and grilled chicken, made to order sandwiches, various salads, croquettes and prepared veggies, along with some Italian dessserts. Can't wait to go back!“
“In the decade I've known my husband, who grew in Mountainside and is a frequent visitor to Goodman's, he only JUST took me to try their incredible sloppy joe corned beef sandwich. I was offended he waited this long. WOW. It was worth the $18 to make it "lean" because corned beef can be fatty and these sandwiches can be heavy. This was absolutely perfect - I love the half sour & sour combo of pickles they give you on the side. Can't wait to be back!“

I love the charm of it all... from the old school worn out sign outside... to the friendly family owned stories that you can get from Peter... that is right up my alley! My husband came here before and was happy with the service and the food... I came here searching the real German bologna that my grandfather couldn't find any regular deli... I got that and some liverwurst for myself... haven't tried the liverwurst yet, but my Papa said the bologna was spot on! For that reason alone, I will be back in regularly for him. They have a vast sandwich menu and other entrees and sides.... I intend on keeping their catering services in mind!“
