“This was my second visit to Tempura Place. It was a Saturday at 3:30pm. I had never eaten any kind of sushi in my 50 years and I decided to dive in here. I've ordered the spicy tuna and the spicy crab. Sense a theme? I guess a total of one person could technically eat-in but this is primarily take-out. I was informed it would take 10 minutes to prepare but it was done before that. I watched Korean Broadcasting Company on the television as I waited. I experienced pleasant service and great food. Waribashi chopsticks were included.“

“The staff is super friendly, and the food is amazing! Since I moved to the area I cannot stop ordering from this place (and I have tried allllll the local poke spots when I am saying this)! They are quite literally the best poke around! And their bubble tea is great too! Highly “

“I Love Tawara Mart. It's such a great find to have an authentic Japanese market nestled in the main street of Ramsey. They have just as good a variety of Japanese foods, snacks, & food ingredients. They even rival dare I say exceed in variety of Japanese goods from purses, toys, stickers and more. I once had a nice conversation with the store owner, I believe her name was Kiko; she regularly travels back & forth to Japan to get the latest and greatest from back home so you know it's legit. More people need to discover for themselves this great little slice of Japan right in the heart of Ramsey.“

“This place was so cozy and lovely, with such tasty food and delightful service! It was so kind of the owner to give us so many free samples with our food! We ordered the (very well priced) sushi combos, which were two special rolls with miso soup (and I got a boba and some kani salad) and it was delicious. The owner also gave us a pot of green tea, veggie gyoza, the house salad, and some blueberries at the end. She came over often to ask how we were doing. We ended up with leftovers because there was so much food. It was also a very cute atmosphere with doodles from the customers all over the walls. I would definitely come back!Vegetarian options: There seemed to be at least one vegetarian option in all the sections.Parking: It was relatively quiet when we went so the lot might fill up if there are more customers but I had no problems.Kid-friendliness: There were markers, notepads and a sheet to doodle on, if any customers came with kids. I didn’t but I doodled anyway lol.“

“Small and absolutely perfect. Make reservations! Also open for lunch on some days and there is a sushi bar available. The sushi is unique in that each piece is individually wrapped in sustainable plastic so the nori retains its crunchiness. Have you ever noticed that nori on typical sushi is soggy? I didn't either, until I tried the crunchy nori at Nami Nori. So good! The whole table was raving about it. We had a business lunch here with 6 guests from NYC and LA. Everyone thought it was spectacular. It was a wonderful way to show off the amazing restaurant scene in Montclair. Beautiful minimalist space. Pretty expensive so date night or special occassion appropriate. Will be back!Vegetarian options: They are good about veg options. Several on the menu.Dietary restrictions: They ask up front and seem very diligent. Top notch.Parking: Street or garage only.Kid-friendliness: Not super kid friendly but could work for sushi-loving adventurous kids who can handle fine dining.“

“Decor was of a bistro and had ample space. The staff very welcoming, helpful, and professional.This is farm to table restaurant The food was high quality, freshly prepared but came out in a timely fashion. The grilled whole Bronzino and the pork skewers really went above and beyond for the little touches that might get overlooked show a real pride in their food and service.The owner definitely went above and beyond to make a great experience even better. “I am very impressed with this restaurant. It’s not big, but it’s very comfortable. The lighting is just right, the music is not loud but more than anything. The sushi is delicious. The rice is perfectly cooked and the rolls are very good. Seaweed salad was great. No fishy smell or liquidy after taste. I also love the presentation. “It's been years since I've been to this place and I must say that the quality of the sushi, the extra large rolls, and most importantly, the taste makes this place stand out among the other sushi places in the area. Owners are friendly and personable and the fish is always fresh. If you haven't been to this place in a while, I absolutely recommend giving it another try.“

“Incredible food across the board, but the service was beyond words. The lovely woman (whose name I completely forgot to ask for) that ran the restaurant was extremely chatty and friendly to all of us. She even gave us a slice of cheesecake on the house afterwards. Next time I’m in the area we are absolutely returning here (I made her a promise). “Absolutely loved our first ( and definitely not last) visit to Tojo in Ho-Ho-Kus! The staff was so welcoming and attentive- Jay was so sweet and did not stop running around helping everyone. The Karage Bun was delicious- served piping hot and the bun was perfect ! The Okra Gomaae was unique. For our main dinner we had the Shio Truffle Ramen ( with added bok choy) and the Tan Tan Men. Both were out of this world! Hit the spot on this very cold day before the first snowstorm of the year! Everything was fresh, served hot and nothing short of exceptional! The line was out the door and I can definitely understand why! See you again soon Tojo Kitchen!!“

I did the 18 piece and went solo, booked last minute reservation as I was craving sushi but wanted the omakase experience close to home. “My partner and I go here as a regular. The shrimp spring rolls with the sauce is great. The inside service is always good. There music and conversation but usually not overly loud. The take out has been late on occasions which means more than an hour in this case. Other wise love it.“

“We are local but never stopped in before. My wife and I, one daughter and her fiance came in during the week between Christmas and New Years. No one was sitting down but it was a little early and there was a lot of take out order activity the entire time we were there.Three of us ordered a total of 8 different rolls and some rice/noodles for my wife . I has the Crunchy Tempura Shrimp roll and the Cream Cheese roll with crab and I would order both again. Everyone enjoyed their selections and other then the noodles and rice, our plates were clean. My wife took what remained for her noodles and rice home as leftovers. We also ordered the Thai Donut to share for desert, based on other reviewers suggestions, and it was really good.Towards the end of our meal, another 2 groups came in and sat down so we weren't the only ones sitting down to eat. We will come back for sure to get items we liked and try out some others.“

“Food was plentiful but as another reviewer mentioned their Kani stick isn't the best so try to avoid ordering rolls with that. We appreciate that they had a kids menu and the other rolls were great. Spider roll was a nice surprise in that there was a full crab in there. We ordered to go and food ended up taking an hour to get ready so just keep them in mind when you order out. They're pretty busy. Overall, it was pretty good but we'll probably stick to some other sushi joints.“

“We ordered the mizu, kiss of summer, Naruto, jade, and Verona and they were all so fresh and delicious. Lots of fish and lots of flavor. I do think the mango could be more ripe though. Tap water also wasn't my favorite but don't let that prevent you from getting this great sushi. Although we couldn't have any of the sauces that came with the rolls since they had gluten, they did have GF soy sauce which was great. The server didn't have much personality and we did have to reconfirm what sauces had gluten and which didn't and had to ask for a second GF soy sauce as well even though in the beginning we did say there are two of us. Pretty empty at 5pm on a Sunday and plenty of free parking (on Sundays) around the corner.“

“Had Dynamite avocado spicy tuna roll ten piece..was a beautiful presentation and a delicious complex tastes with the avocado which added creamy texture , had the spiciness of the sauce, the tuna, and the sweet crunch of the apple was bursting with layers of flavor. “Wabi Sabi does best what most people say they do: sushi. Their restaurant is decorated with plaques for best sushi, best sashimi, and even the best restaurant in Bloomfield.Having tried their Godzilla Roll, I'm inclined to agree. Their entire menu of chef's specials is filled with both familiar and unique rolls. The Godzilla Roll immediately stood out with an assortment of fish, including deep-fried tuna. It was a great mouthful and exceptional taste.The Dirty Roll was also quite good. Lots of elements complimenting each other. I think for some folks, there may be too much going on, and the flavors can be lost, but I appreciated how everything came together. Very yummy.I was drawn to the presentation of their grilled squid, but the taste didn't wow me as much. A simple salt and pepper squid served with soy sauce. Good portion, and not bad, but I think I'll stick with the sushi at Wabi Sabi.I always appreciate an attentive staff, but at some point, it started to feel like I had 3 people at my table and not just the 2 lol...Overall, I enjoyed my visit. One of our servers also shared their insight into the baby yellowtail sushi that we ordered, in comparison to regular yellowtail sushi, which I appreciated. Thanks for the food!“

I ordered 3 rolls - Hot Jenny roll, Christmas roll, and Viki hand roll. I strongly recommend all of these three - the taste was eye-opening (even more delicious than I could imagine in my life!) and I can tell this restaurant uses very fresh ingredients as well as doesn't cheap out on ingredients at all. “Was here on a Thursday for lunch and it was good. Their seared salmon appetizer was good. They torched it and added a smokey flavor to it which was great for me since I like the smokey flavor. The ramen was spicy but good and the Domodachi Lunch set was abundant and good. Parking wasn't bad for a weekday and service was prompt.“

“We really like Masago! We've been ordering their lunch specials for about a year, and the food has always been fresh and consistent with reasonable pricing for the 3 roll combo. We look forward to it every week. Once you order from them on the phone, you can leave your food and payment preferences on file, so calling them and re-ordering is super quick. Delivery during lunch time is usually within 30 minutes, and they will leave the food on your porch if you ask.“

“This is my second visit to this restaurant, the food does not disappoint me, it is very delicious, the drinks too, although I am Latin, I love sushi and I have to admit that about 3 Asian countries made my stomach fall in love. It's byob and there's a wine store literally 1 block away. As for what we got. Unfortunately they don't have the lunch menu on the weekends but that is no where written in there menu. We got the vegetarian tempura. It came with different fried vegetables like broccoli, mushroom and onion. It was ok. We ordered 4 rolls and I will present them in order of my favorite. The mango potato was the best. I loved the sauce and the texture of the fried sweet potato. Next was the pineapple. I loved the sweetness without any needed added sauce to top it. Then was the bugs bunny. It has lots of veggies and a nice Chipotle sauce on top. My least favorite was the Nori jade. I felt the Avocado was too mushy. “My sister and I decided last minute to go out to dinner and we landed at Toro Sushi. I actually used Google assistant to call the restaurant for me and reserve a table 15 minutes before our arrival. Toro was half full when we arrived at 7pm on a Saturday but, by 8pm it was full so, our timing was perfect. Everything we ordered was excellent... edamame, tuna avocado salad, Congo roll, New York roll, tuna roll and salmon roll. Service was wonderful. We weren't rushed and food came out quickly. I'm definitely bringing my husband here the next time we visit my sister.“

They had happy hour on some sushi rolls and appetizers. The waitress was nice and service was fast. It's definitely worth another return. The first time I was here it had more of a lounge vibe now not so much now but that's okay. But I also came on a Wednesday so maybe Saturday and Friday night might be different. They don’t have changing table in their bathroom but, it is big enough to accommodate a changing pad and get it done, they do provide high chairs and space for a stroller.“
