“I have finally had a sub from a SUBWAY® that is worth 4 stars. It is The Monster with double meat and whatever toppings you prefer. I went with Garlic Aoli, Red Wine Vinegar, Lettuce, Tomato, Spinach, Black Olive, Jalapeño, Banana Peppers, Black Pepper and Oregano. Not toasted. The question is, is it worth $17? Nah. I honestly cannot tell the difference between their presliced meat to their newly sliced fresh meat. For chains, Jersey Mike’s is much higher quality for $1 - $2 more. Jersey Mike’s is actually less expensive had I went to the Avenel Subway location. The same sub there was $20! If you are in Central/North Central NJ, do yourself a favor and just go to Tastee Subs in Metuchen.Vegetarian options: 1 veggie option for subs. There is also a salad.“
“I am a big sandwich guy and this is exactly the type of place that I am always searching for. I was in the area looking for food places that I’ve never tried and I came across Big Wally’s and they did not disappoint. The selection of hot and cold sandwiches was almost too much to decide, so I asked the guy behind the counter what the most popular sub was and he said the Poore Boy so I ordered that and added a Porkinator from the pulled pork specials he also recommended. There is no seating inside so I ate in my car and after had to go back in to thank them for the recommendations and tell them how good the sandwiches were.We need more places like this. Great food and customer service and great prices.Bring cash, no cards!Support small business!“
“First time trying Anthony’s. I must say amazing experience all around. The girl at the front register was so nice, the sandwich making guy in the back(who I thought was Anthony himself but I didn’t know) good personality. The inside looks spotless, great decor, and felt very cool inside.I got one of Thursday specials which is the Porchetta with the crispy skin! It comes with broccoli rabe and fresh smoked mozzarella. I must say this might be the best pork sandwich I’ve ever eaten.Great crunch to the skin, very flavorful, the broccoli rabe is a great complement and the mozz is also a great addition. Best sandwich on Staten Island. We also tried the rice ball with and without meat, and the potato croquettes. Might be best on the island. So fresh!!I can’t wait to go back to try the others(except Thursday because Thursdays you know what I’m getting!!!)Anthony you out did yourself!!My score10 out of 10“
“This place deserves 6 stars. Got half meatball and half #7 (turkey) and WOW. Meatball was one of the best meatball parms ever had. The bread is to die for. The turkey was very good as well. This is one of a kind and a MUST. I will be in here 1x per week without question.“
“I always drive by this place and since my son is off, took him there. The staff was nice and made sure that us being there for the first time knew exactly what we were ordering. I got a turkey sandwich and my son got the chicken cutlet. Both sandwiches were amazing and my son complimented that this was the best he had and like wise same for me. I asked him what would u rate it he gave 5 stars out of 5. So for a ten year old think he knows what he's talking about. Will be coming back here often.Parking: They have a parking lot in the back but didn't get a chance to go in as that street is busy so I parked on a side street.“
“Absolutely amazing food! This my new go to spot for lunch and dinner. The salads are superb, all the ingredients are always fresh, everything is homemade and it tastes it!!! I just ordered the Cobb and Caesar salads- ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! So far everything that I’ve had is top quality. Also, a HUGE shoutout for ALWAYS fulfilling requests on orders!!! You guys are the best. P.S- BEST FRIES EVER and that chicken sandwich is killer!!“
“I’ve recently started getting subs here again after years if not doing so and let me just say WOW how I missed these subs ! So good and fresh and when you walk in you smell the freshness of all the ingredients being used. The employees are friendly and efficient. Love this place! #7 with provolone and everything plus mayo is the sub to get ?“
“Never disappointed! I am a repeat customer and am glad to see they have expanded the menu today I had the Dagwood and it was delicious! Added photos from last time as well. There is also a park next door to walk around in or even picnic, love this place!Vegetarian options: Sandwiches“
“I love a good sub and couldn't wait to give this spot a try. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and was greeted. I ordered from a nice young lady, Paige. I ordered the raging bull and the chipotle chicken wrap. It took about 10 minutes. The sandwiches were big and filling. I really enjoyed both sandwiches, especially the ragging bull. I also like the iced tea I drunk. All in all I had a good experience!“
“Now this is a place that needs to get a 5 Star Review. Been living in this town for about 8 years now and I believe this is the first time I can honestly say that this Deli knows how to make an amazing hero, and I've tried almost all of them. The people working there were nice and pleasant. They were warm and welcoming. The gentleman took pride in his work and crafted an amazing breakfast sandwich. Can't wait to come back and try one of their great lunch specials. They will see me often after today, thanks guys.“
“I live down south, and can't find a subthe way I like, I was in Edison delivering a load, the sub is really good, and the service was just as good if not better, I put this place in my GPS, so I will be able to find it again, I will be back“
“It’s a subway… keep that in mind… and it’s not even a full subway, yet they still manage to always get my order correct and with a smile. Niro helped me today and other days and he’s such a great happy personality. Thanks for taking care of me as usual.“
“Went in today and asked Kevin what the most popular hot sandwich was and he recommended the crispy chicken chipotle. It was indeed, the best sandwich ever. I also had the macaroni and potato salad, very delicious. Kevin recommended the Italian sub as a popular cold cut and will be back to try it ?“
“Best Mexican food in town for sure. We just picked up from there for the first time and the menu is massive. Food was soooo good. The guy who helped us was super nice too. We got the birria tacos and enchiladas - 10/10. This will be our new go to!!“
“Best pizza!! I have about 50 pizza places closer to me then Comet, but their pizza is beyond worth driving 20 minutes away!! The staff here are also the nicest people! 20+ years later and still one of the best tasting pizza's in New Jersey!!“
“This sun-shined Street, is seconds off of Broad street Newark. Cafe Airlie is like walking into Cheers (The 80’s TV show where everyone knows your name). The owner/ manager is the friendliest person. Calling everyone that walk in by name. I soon felt like I was eating breakfast in my living and talking with my family. Everyone one that came in seems to interact. It really felt like home. The breakfast platter was yummy. Yesterday I had a chopped salad. Checkout their menu. I’m sure you’ll find something you like. Shop local. Eat with friends or family. This cafe was clean and had spacious seating. The staff was friendly. Come on in.Parking: Plenty of places to park and walk over .Kid-friendliness: The owner seams to be friendly with the school kids. I think that is Awsome since they are future members of this community.“
“I just want to say that the service is so great here! All of the workers were soooo nice! I normally order delivery but today I went it. It smelled so dang good when I walked in I wanted to order 1 of everything haha. But of course the sandwiches were delish! But the owner of this establishment should be proud of the staff he has!“
“This review is a bit overdue, but &grain is the best! We had placed a catering order for our store last week and it was one of the best decisions we could have made. We wanted to do a staff lunch for ourselves, but weren't entirely sure what the best approach would be, so I spoke with John and he suggested a few items that were their most popular, which made it so easy.We got the Chipotle Chicken sandwich, Ham & Brie sandwich, Prime Rib sandwich, and the ABLT sandwich-- all of which were incredible. We also ordered an Apple Salad that was otherworldly. The blend of flavors and textures was sublime and we made short work of it.The star of the show, however, was the crookie. Half chocolate chip cookie, half croissant= all delicious. I don't think I can adequately put into words how incredibly tasty it was, especially when heated a bit.Looking for a biz lunch that will satisfy? Look no further than &grain.“
“Came here around 11 am on a Sunday and let me tell you. There were 4 people working and they all had the very best energy. I can’t remember the last time I encountered such friendly service workers. I rarely write reviews but I’m still in the parking lot writing this because they were so delightful. 10/10 recommend if you need to grab a bite with a side of cheer.“
“I have never had a bad experience whether it be eating in ordering. Delivery drivers always nice and friendly and the atmosphere in restaurant is nice. Everything paninis are amazing. I don't eat meat and there are a few options already on the menu to pick from which is wonderful and considerate overall 10/10Vegetarian options: Lent special and you can create your own panini they also have a caprese panini and I'm sure other things, the menu is extensive.“
“Fresh food from the bread to the meats and vegetables. Nicely made sandwiches that aren't sloppy. Needs to put more condiments, oil, vinegar and oregano on sandwiches to make them taste more like a sub. Make sure you ask them for those things if you prefer them.“
“Great place to get vegetarian sweets or breakfast.Vegetarian options: Many variations which can accommodate sweet tooth of people with allergies and vegetarians.Parking: Parking lot in front of the store with additional places outside the lot.“
“The two gentlemen behind the counter were very pleasant. They have a decent menu selection. For the most part, it does not matter if you get a half or a whole sub because you’re not getting a deal by getting the whole sub. Example: most half subs are $7.99 whereas the whole sub is $15.99. There are a few where the whole sub gives you a $.50 savings. Today I did get a cheesesteak with extra provolone cheese, onions, hot peppers and a special hot sauce that they make. I’m glad I got the extra cheese because it definitely needed that and the condiments that were on there were very good. The meat itself didn’t taste like anything special but it wasn’t bad. It seems all of their cold cuts are Thummann’s which is high-quality. I do believe that the cheesesteak sub needed more meat. The meat itself did not even cover the bread end to end. One one end of the sub there was nothing but the bread by about 1.5” and 2” of nothing at the other end. So about 3.5 inches of the 16 inch sub was just bread. In all reality, I believe you are better off going with a half cheesesteak and double everything so you get a full sandwich with half of the bread. I cannot speak for any other sandwich as this is the first time I was there and the only item that I did purchase, as far as the entrée goes. I did get a small thing of potato salad, which was some store-bought stuff just scooped into little containers that was just meh. My meal of a cheesesteak, small potato salad and a Diet Coke can came to just over $20.“
“I saw the advertisement on IG reels. Thought to myself give it a try. My travel has taken me over the globe and I always seek a Pastrami or Corned Beef sandwich to compare to Katzs deli. Which is A1 in NYC.To my surprise I give this Pastrami Sandwich #1 In N.J.Bypass the old landmark store downtown Newark that sells Pastrami on Halsey st.There is a New King in town it's Abbys Deli. Just do it!You won't be disappointed the Pastrami and Rye was absolutely a delight to eat. This sandwich was delicious. Take my word for it.“
“My husband and I just got 2 subs made by Dez and Chris, who are extremely friendly with great energy. You can taste the love they put into making them… DELICIOUS!!!! Thanks guys! I highly recommend this place and we will def be going back.“
“Hole-in-the-wall sub shop. Well-made subs on the cheap. All sliced fresh as you order. Don't look for decor or ambiance. But lots and lots of options - and they do breakfast as well. Cheap chips and sides as well. Gives Jersey Mike's a run for their money and beats Subway.“
“I never took the time to leave a comment on any restaurant but this is my favorite place to get my breakfast every morning the owner always smiles and say good morning same as all staff membersNice music nice atmosphere and delicious food I completely recommend“
“The service and food far exceeded my expectations of this seemingly run down mini-diner. The buttermilk pancakes wer fantastic but what was seemingly only $4.55 for pancakes and $1.50 for coffee turned into $11 when the bill came! The extra charges were somewhat confusing but regardless, solid food and friendly service, definitely worth a try.“
“Tasty and nice! Very, very cheap. I ordered here huge veggie sandwich and coffee. It was delicious. Personnel is nice, adjusted with everything I asked. While it is cold outside, inside cafe is well heated. So I could sit here for couple of hours with my laptop. So nice. I recommend to everyone!“
“The best pastrami EVER!RAJ is a wizard at making a perfect sandwich! His menus is exceptional, as is his service.Generous, beautifully wrapped, and hot!SPACIOUS PARKING BEGIND BUILDING.My favorite food in AMERICA!Ted Turner Jr MDPLAINFIELDKid-friendliness: I am 86 years old… lifelong resident in the area . My first choice whenever possible!Great “HAME DAY” option“
“Many times I have eaten their famous Italian hotdogs, loaded with onions, peppers & deep fried potato slices. 5***** approximately $11.00 for 2 Sabrett hotdogs with toppings. Also have sausage sandwich built the same or a combo of hotdog & sausage. Hamburger , chicken sandwiches are available too. Potatoes can be bought by a cup. Parking is scarce & always busy at 12:00 noon until 1:00 pm I'd call ahead during the work week . Beverages can be bought , usually cold soda + water. Ps Everything is grilled here , So order how you wish.Vegetarian options: They serve vegetarian chili ? Very Good“
“It's been awhile, the last stop I got a roast beef & provolone sub sandwich with lettuce, onion & tomatoes. Very good but kind of expensive. $10.00 could've had more meat honestly. The usual deli fare food , also make egg & vegetable sandwiches. Fries can be ordered as well. Seating is limited however . Bathroom for customers only, parking is limited unless you park in lot building down the street. Located Next to the train station near Broad St.Vegetarian options: Offers veggie sandwiches ?“
“I really enjoy this spot. The variety of cheese steaks is awesome. The atmosphere is cool. The happy hour specials are a great value. The service is good.Parking: Huge parking lotWheelchair accessibility: Easy to go up the ramp into restaurant“
“I ordered pizza (the pizza was very good) and wings to be delivered. As soon as we received pizza I called and told them they forgot the wings. The guy I spoke to confirmed they did forget the wings and will have them delivered. One hr later I called and guy said he just sent the wings well two hrs later I’m still waiting and I can’t call because they are closed. They called me and made things right. Thank you! The pizza was good just wish I had tried the wings. Glad they called me and fixed the issue.“
“My regular deli for the last year. Great food, great service and the nicest owners! They know my order as soon as they pick up the phone. A terrific local place for a sandwich! Especially like to chat with Jake, Tessa and Jacqui when I pop in for my take out.“
“I had a pork roll with eggs and the eggs were cooked perfectly for a breakfast sandwich; jammy and just a little runny. Not enough to make a mess of my hands while I ate, but enough to sauce up the roll. Super delicious. They're also arranged on the sandwich so you get a bite of egg yolk in most bites, which is the optimal bite of a breakfast sandwich, imo. It's a cute little restaurant, too. Not a ton of seating inside, but the funky art on almost every surface of the walls gives you plenty to look at while you scarf down whatever tasty things you decide to order. I'm pretty confident it's all delicious, if the other food is anything like my breakfast.“
