“I cannot sing the praises of this place and the staff enough! We had a long day at the museum and we were all starving and the kids were very cranky. We took forever trying to find a place that they would all find something to eat at but that place didn't work out so we came here not realizing how lucky we were. After having a quick glance at the menu I realized two of my children would probably not eat anything. Two of the ladies that work there helped us work it out to piece together a meal for them with components they already have. It took quite a while figuring everything out but they were patient and helpful. The food was outstanding and the cocktails and mocktails were phenomenal. I wish I lived closer because this would be a regular place for me. Highly recommend!“

“We popped in here on a whim after a show and I was pleasantly surpised! Excellent, elevated Mexican cuisine, all the dishes we had were outstanding! Great guac to start with homemade tortilla chips followed by an amazing tuna truffle tostada and langostine tacos. Even the elote side was was awesome with such great flavors. We caught them at the end of the night so service was patchy, but look forward to giving them another try for the amazing food.“

Me and the fam got to try the tenders(hugee), ribs, rotisserie chicken, burgers, general tsos and chopped cheese sandwich and OH MY was it DELICIOUS. The people here were also very friendly and accommodating, they also had good music playing in the background. Definitely recommend this spot to anyone in or out of town. I suspect that this place would have a lot more foot traffic if it were in town near Bloomfield Ave or Watchung, but I’m happy to have it so nearby in Upper Montclair, and I hope they are a long-standing fixture here (have seen a few places coke and go in this spot). “Being from southern California, I had high high hopes for this birria and consome and I was not disappointed! A great deal for 3 tacos for $12. Their mulitas were absolutely heavenly and that consome was cooked to perfection I drank the entire thing after dipping my tacos and mulita. We took these to go and sat at a nearby dog park to eat it. There was on line when we went (a Friday at around lunch time) which I was pleasantly surprised by! While we were waiting, another patron eagerly exclaimed that she had been looking for this food truck and wasn't aware that they had moved locations so it's evident this spot is beloved and sought out. “This restaurant is phenomenal. The food is fantastic! So much so that we came on Cinco de Mayo and waited for a table just to get in. They do have 2 for 1 specials on drinks, but otherwise no other deals or happy hour specials. The seating is well spaced considering the restaurant is smaller. Being able to see into the kitchen as they make the food makes it that much tastier. I really feel connected when I can see them fresh pressing the tortillas ? It's very cool. I will say, the fish taco was my least favorite of the foods we ate. I felt like the actual fish got lost under the delicious sauce and well seasoned breading. It was overall tasty, but I wasn't getting much fish flavor with all the other stuff going on. I started working in the area recently and although there’s taco spots on every block, I make the 10 minute walk here every day with no problem. The food is amazing, the meat tender and not dry. “Burgers and Chinese food at one place, never would have thought! Burgers were good, big and juicy, and relatively inexpensive. The "caramelized onions" were those fried onions you get from a can and not really caramelized onions. But for 10 bucks with fries and a can of soda, im ok with it.“

“Shocked I haven't been to this gem as I love Mexican food and always searching for great options in NYC. Though they don't take reservations, was able to come here on a Thursday with a group of 5. The service was fast and the sangria was delicious! The margaritas also looked quite good, but I knew I would be drinking wine later, so I really enjoyed my sangria! The chips and salsa are of course a great feature, but recommend getting the guac as well. Very fresh and great flavor. My shrimp burrito was really, really, REALLY delicious. The seasoning and cook on the shrimps were outstanding and was happy with the amount of shrimps in the burrito - they didn't skimp on the shrimp! I was also very hungry, so I got a side of fried plantains, which were very good and hit the spot. The crema you dip them in also goes great across the meal. Great place for a cool date night, drinks and apps on the way out, or a celebratory spot!“

We arrived at around noon and may have been the first people to show up for the day. Given how quiet the restaurant was, we didn't want to get our hopes up but BOY did this place deliver. As soon as we took our first bite of the complementary (and addicting) warm black bean dip with fresh, salty tortillas we knew we were in for a treat! I ordered the burrito which was loaded with the most flavorful and perfectly cooked chicken. My fiancee ordered tacos (4 per order) - 2 fish and 2 barbacoa. The tacos and salsas were super fresh and tasty. I love that they didn't try to overcomplicate anything - just extremely delicious food without the need for gastronomics and extra flair. The food surpassed our expectations; my son particularly enjoyed the birria tacos and Mexican Elote. It was easy to find a spot and easy to get in and out. We made a reservation so we didn't have to wait and they seated us as soon as our whole party arrived. Excellent and authentic food with warm, friendly staff, and a great bar selection with many tequilas. Nina’s is great! Reasonable too!
