Not only was the food delicious, but our server Nia was beyond attentive and just had a great attitude overall. “My server Toby was so funny, kind, patient and helpful! The food was very well made and flavorful.At first I didn't like the table we were positioned at and requested another one, and they swiftly moved us! Very good customer service. It was also my mums birthday and they sang for her as they brought out the cake, and a few of the staff came over to wish her a happy birthday. Overall it was a very nice environment and I would recommend it to anyone!“
“Tried this place with my family for my sister's birthday. Everything was delicious. For appetizers we tried the calamari, the mussels fra diablo, the clams and the sweet potato fries. Three different steaks were ordered along with the chicken Parmesan, and a lamb that was the daily special. Nothing disappointed. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, especially because I will definitely be going back.“
“Celebrated a birthday here. Overall, great evening out. We had a party of 30 people. Some steaks were overcooked but in the grand scheme of things, they were accommodating, organized and didn’t rush us out well past closing time which I really appreciated.“
“Was on vacation to New York but stayed in New Jersey. This restaurant was just a short distance from where we were staying. We ate at this establishment 2 times. Even us being from Texas, this was still one of the best steaks we've ever eaten. You could make a meal out of the mashed potatoes alone, sooo smooth and buttery. A 10 out of 10 for sure!!!!“
“We moved to Bloomfield 7 years ago and I've seen this steak house all the time but never tried it out..... I wish we had went sooner!! Not only was the service excellent, different waiters and waitresses checked up on us periodically as well as our own waitress while we dined. I had the rib eye no bone (excellent and evenly cooked) with fries and my wife had the filet mignon with cream spinach. We had the empanadas for an appetizer and they were delicious. And for dessert, the chocolate brownie sundae..... Delicious!! The prices are probably the lowest of any steakhouse we've been too in NY/NJ and we've been to quite a few. Definitely look forward to going back a bunch of times!!!“
“Overall our brunch was very good with a couple of minor issues. The banquettes need cleaning, the juices in the cocktails weren't shaken thus making the drinks watery and not full flavored. I sent mine back and the waiter brought me another quickly. The food was good. We will come back for dinner in the future.“
“Got there early on a Sunday with my wife and 2 small kids. We had then porterhouse for 2, garlic mash, broccoli rob, penne vodka w shrimp, and the lasagna. I wanted to love the place, but they fell short on the flavor of the food. We all liked our meal, but all agreed it fell short on the seasoning. They were just opening, so it's possible they gave us mash and lasagna from the day before and it was good but wasn't great. I do plan on going back to give it another go. The service was great and the dining room comfy. Not a bad experience. Worth a meal to try them out.“

“Great place to grab a bite on a Friday night...relaxed and tropical ambience, clean, and plenty of seating. The tropical fruits in the fish dishes were phenomenal...added a nice element to the saltiness of the fish. Only drawback are the portion sizes on the fish. Fairly small for what you're paying...it wasn't terrible but I would have liked a little bigger piece and some more rice. However it wasn't over cooked, very fresh, and lots of flavor. Definitely a place you may want to frequent.“

“I have been visiting Rare for about 15 years now and in almost every way, this is an outstanding restaurant, and not only for steak lovers. For many years, the Manager was Steve and he was excellent and making one's family or other guests at home. He was a truly spectacular Manager. Sadly he has left and there is a new Manager named Jan. But the restaurant remains excellent, the food spectacular and the employees dedicated. I am always surprised when I read another diner write a review that starts with "Horrible". It is hard to believe we are in the same restaurant. I can say with certainty that Rare the Steak House deserves the adjective spectacular. [Some of the information on their Open Table information is dated: Gov. Murphy no longer restricts dining activities for one. Perhaps they can update.]“
“My frist time there all was good, but this time just Wow. The steak was very under cooked and very over seasoned. The amount of peper was enough for 4 steaks. The service was rushed. Got dinner before we finished the appetizers. The dessert tasted old. Not sure if I will give it another try ! “The manager and server were attentive, making sure that my son with ASD, and the rest of our party were happy. They prepared my son's food the way it needed to be so my son would eat it. They also had french fries to substitute for the noodles. I hope the manager sees this review. You have no idea what it means to special needs parents to have someone go out of their way for you when they don't have to do it. I thank you all!“
