“A lovely dine-in bar-restaurant in UWS. I have been there during the happy hours (3:30 to 6 PM) and I would recommend the same. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, best for a group or an intimate date. I would highly recommend the Consulate's Old Fashioned which has Mescal. The French 85 is also good.“
“Nice Matin is a bright and lively restaurant. The servers are friendly, helpful, and often check in with your table. Their food is very good and has some unique brunch options (grapefruit with granola topping, scrambled eggs with Marquez sausage, etc.) Yet they have the beloved choices of egg benedicts, sandwiches, and entrees such as salmon and steak even at brunch time. The prices are very good for Manhattan and every seat was filled during our Saturday brunch.“
“I absolutely love the energy/vibe in this place! Music and food was great! The drinks were absolutely delicious and the customer service was spectacular. All the employees were great! Shout out to Darren, Mauricio and Melissa and the kitchen staff they made my night and the experience so amazing that I can't wait to go back. If I lived closer, this would definitely be my after-work spot. I'm looking forward to going there again.“
“We went for an engagement party and were blown away. Food was delicious. Every bite.Service went above and beyond. I mentioned once I was gluten free and the waiter brought me a special gluten free side and my own dessert. I couldn’t believe it!Probably the best meal I’ve had in a long long time. If they can pull off a large event so well I can only imagine how fab their regular dinner service is!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free pros!“
“The food, atmosphere, and service was truly excellent. We enjoyed the whipped ricotta as our appetizer, the faso chicken and the faso big burger as our mains, and the chocolate fondant and cappuccinos for dessert. Every bite was delicious. We will be back soon!“
“Absolutely awesome hideen French Bistro is inside La Marqueta.Chef Edward and his team create mouthwatering dishes and great French pastries. One of the great dishes is their Bacalao Pie, which uses dried cod fish from Mama Grace & Nana down the hall. She's been here for over 30 years and sells a variety of dried fish. The pie is a dish the chef ate growing up in France. The fish is soaked overnight, boiled, shredded and mixed with butter, olive oil, garlic, scallions, and potatoes, baked and voila! This comforting dish is Brandade de Morue in French.Reminds me of a Shepherd's pie or like a gratin. It's warm, comforting and just a touch salty, chunks of fish and potato—really delicious!I also had the Croque Monsieur, a couple of great quiches and fresh croissants. I've been here 4 times already! They have great dishes for brunch on weekends.Don't skip on pastries like a great banana bread, lots of French cookies and treats.“
“We went for my aunts 95th bday. Saturday afternoon. Table for twelve outside. Lovely! Server was new, but did her best. The kitchen agreed to make moules frites for a few of us. (Wasn’t on the brunch menu, odd bc we have it for lunch during the week) we were a large group, but the kitchen couldn’t get out the Quiche special for over 10 minutes after all the other lunches came out. Other then that, the food was enjoyable as always! Creme brûlée was excellent“
“Delicious house made granola at brunch time.Second time around i had a burger for brunch. My brother gets them every time. I asked to leave out a few things and they did it correctly and didn't seem bothered by it.Despite the fact that the inside of the restaurant is huge, and 75% of it was full, we got our food quite quickly. With the burger you can have fries or a small salad. For the burgers they also had a bernaise sauce? It's on the side so it is optional. Over the last 20 years in that neighborhood, I have gone at least 80% of the time. The one drawback is that they played music in the background that can make it hard to hear.“
“Went for dinner last night with my husband. A wonderfully unpretentious spot. BYOB. Quite possibly the best Italian food I've ever had. Service was great. I can't believe it took us this long to find. Will absolutely frequent regularly go forward!“
“Me and my daughter, enjoyed this restaurant so much during our Mommy and Me weekend! The atmosphere was laid back and quite relaxing. The service was superb and the food was so good, we had to order food to bring home. I would give this establishment 6 stars if I could. We were both very pleased and we will be dining here again very soon. If you have not been here, you should definitely give them a visit. Peace and Love, Chele from the Block.“
“The place is beautiful, cozy, loved the music and the environment!Food wasn’t good tho, I ordered the beef in wine (Boeuf bourguignon) was really salty and the carrots raw.The escargots and the onion soup were amazing! All of the servers were really kind!“
“I realize this is arguably damming with faint praise, but clearly the best restaurant in Yonkers/Western Westchester county below the Cuomo bridge. High quality ingredients, well-prepared. Excellent service plus a nice view of the water -- at least before dark. Compares favorably to some of the better Manhattan restaurants. To be sure, is it as good as say, Le Bernardin or Jean Georges? Of course not. But you'll get a first-class dining experience for probably half the price, without the hassle of traffic and parking.“
“3rd visit today in a week to this very friendly little restaurant. Welcoming and professional service. Delicious dishes like this homemade terrine and a great 1/2 Cornish cockerel from today. Excellent dessert also with a hot chocolate fondant.“
“All French wine all the time. We sat at the bar for a delicious glass of the French white they pour for happy hour (4-6). Our bartender who was Latino joked he was the only thing not French at the bar! We had just been at Museum of Natural History planetarium and needed to come back to earth! Bartender was nice. Wine was super nice. All inside and outside tables were filled with French wine lovers enjoying a 5 PM glass. Food menu looks good so we will return. Feels a lot like Paris on W 84th! A votre sante! Salut!“
“This is the first time I've written a review. And I'm doing it only because the food, service and presentation were exceptional. 17 of us gathered for a family event. We had a dozen plus different dishes (some repeats/multiple orders). Every dish was exceptional. Literally every one. Bursting with rich flavors and great portions. Snails, scallops, salads, onion soup, chicken, pasta, filet of beef, potatoes, vegetables. Six different wonderful desserts, including soufflés. Terrific French cooking. Appetizers, salads, entrees, sides and desserts. Not an ordinary dish among them. One more thing. Unlike so many restaurants today where you can't hear yourself think much less talk to others, this restaurant has been designed to allow patrons to easily communicate with each other, even in a crowded dining room.“
“Perfect place for our anniversary dinner celebration! Everything from the appetizers to the dish of the day was absolutely delicious. The braised short rib pulled apart like butter (I didn’t need to use my knife). The interior is cozy, and makes the entire experience feel more intimate. And of course, the service was top notch. I’m excited to visit again to try their other dishes of the day!“
“I had the Poullet a la Franceis. My dining companion had the French Onion Soup. The food was prepared fresh and was delicious. We also had a Crepe Suzette, chocolate ice cream and Espresso. The service was excellent in a relaxed, friendly ambience. We will definitely be coming back!“
“We went on a Friday around 6, only a few customers in the place. Greeted by a friendly waiter who asked us to sit where we chose. Had the Yatenga salad for starters which the dressing was a bit bitter but the otherwise the salad was very fresh. Entrees were the chef special gambas and the mussels. Both plates were well presented, good portions, and very delicious. We ordered the apple tart for dessert which was ok.We will definitely be returning to try some of the other entrees.“
“Best baguette on the upper east side. It's thin crust and pillowy soft inside. I always wonder where one can get the baguettes that Vietnamese sandwiches are made from. This has to be where all these restaurants get their bread. They are made right on premise and all gone by lunch time. So go early and get yours.“
“Service is top notch here. I’m not a French pastry expert, but everything we tried during our stay at Hotel Bellclaire was excellent and very fresh. Nicely done espresso drinks made with care by a guy who knows his stuff — he looks like an octopus the way he multi-tasks around that machine. Very cheerful staff and smiling faces all around, mark of well run shop.“
“Came here for Easter and was pleasantly surprised! The only disappointment was that they forgot the caviar on the salmon tartar. Also I didn’t care for the escargot but I think that’s just a personal preference on taste. Overall I will be returning!“
“Came here for the Happy hour and it was great. All the options were so good!. I ordered the special croquettes and they were 10/1000, got a glass of champagne and a glass of white wine, then got the Tuna tartar and end up this perfect evening with dessert, which was amazing too. Service was nice and kind but ny server didn’t follow up with me very much, I only saw hm when he took the order and then he disappeared. I had to ask the bussers/runners for help all the time. Besides that I loved this place and definitely coming back☺️.“
“First time eating here and the food was amazing. The staff is super nice and out waitress was very helpful and cool. We had the mussels, calamari and burgers and everything was soooo good. Will definitively come back for dinner and desert. Thank you.“
“Awesome restaurant and super class manager with high skills on communication and costumer service. As a diplomat I like calm and clean space. This restaurant is so far the best you can find in NYC following these both criterias and beyond. I spend quality of time with my fiancee surprising her with these yummy foods from Crepes on Columbus. She liked it ? and want us to back again. Thank you COC for your amazing service.“
“Best French food in Upper Manhattan for sure. One of the reasons we chose our new apartment is it's nearby. They don't mess up the classics here can't wait to try the cassoulet. They know what they are doing with duck. The bar upfront is going to be the place to be during the world cup. Dinner here and dancing at the shrine after is a failsafe date. All-in-all an essential institution.“
“Went for a surprise birthday party and it was a fixed menu. Good wine options and food was really delicious and service attentive. Most of it was family style and since others didn't eat the divine pate, I was not leaving that to be thrown out!!! I had the brook trout and enjoyed every bite.“
“The meal was delicious from beginning to end. The goat cheese salad.. superb. The seafood risotto divine. The cab lovely. And the chocolate souffle.. heavenly. And the service a perfect balance of attentive and not intrusive. We shall return soon!“
“I recently dined at a West African restaurant in Harlem. Tried for the Senegalese chicken, I was a bit disappointed as the meat turned out to be rather dry, accompanied by rice that shared the same fate. The calamari offered a slight redemption, being acceptable in taste. However, the standout feature of the experience was the friendly demeanor of the staff, who made the visit more enjoyable despite the culinary letdown.Overall, while the ambiance and service were pleasant, the food failed to impress, leaving much to be desired in terms of flavor and texture.“
“I can’t believe I’ve lived in Harlem for this long and only just now visited this restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing, and the service was fantastic (shoutout to Filip). I’m always hesitant ordering lamb dishes at restaurants because of how often they get them wrong, but I’m so glad I ended up ordering it. Perfectly fork tender, and the sauce it was served in was divine“
“This is a hidden gem in Tenafly. Celebrated my mom’s 66th birthday last night. The space, service and food were all A+++. Thank you for accommodating us all party of 12 (including kids). Rolando and his manager went above and beyond to make this celebration a very memorable one. Thank you!“
