“Never been to Mama Sher's personally but always ordered from there using UBER EATS. Food was always delicious with excellent portions. Then one day they were no longer offering delivery. I wish she still delivered. I miss the authentic Caribbean cuisine Mama Sher"s provided.“
“3/13/24 I ordered goat Tasso with black rice a side order of macaroni au gratin.the pikliz was just like home( authentic) Macaroni smelled sour when I opened it but it was not spoiled, tasted okay. The goat portion was quite small( not any smaller than any other restaurant), but the worst thing was the rice. It was hard and tasteless. I called the restaurant and the person who answered the phone admitted they sent me the bottom of the pot( gratin) not al all eatable. She then asked me come to the store but would not remedy the situation.On 3/14/24- The owner called me to apologized and make things right. As I thought yesterday it was a young person who answered the phone; she will receive training in customer service. Thank you Gabriel. I will now make an in person trip to the restaurant especially since you do not use bouillon/Maggi cubes in the food.“
“The Owner and Staff were so Kind, helpful and welcoming. The most welcomed I’ve ever felt in any restaurant! Ever. The Location is spotless clean, and you walk in and the smell of fresh Grilled Jerk Chickenhits you instantly.I Had the Oxtail meal as well as the Jerk wings! Both were so good!! & fresh!The jerk wings were Crispy and sauced very well! I also purchased a homemade strawberry Ginger drink, that was amazing as well. “I live walking distance from Bekka’s. When she first opened we had some jerk chicken and oxtail. It was okay but not great. However, this morning I had the ackee and salt fish with banana and yam, and it’s the best I ever had. I grew up in East Orange and have been to various Caribbean restaurants and this was the best Jamaican breakfast ever!“
“This is the newest Jaincan spot I’ve tried since year. And as a true jamaican, it’s a 10/10. Everything prepared here is delicious and fresh. The chef puts life in all the dishes. They serve real jamaican breakfast every morning. They even switch it up for lunch and dinner. All types of authentic foods. You will have many options aside from rice & peace and chicken. My favorite things that’s always a hit is the porridge, soup of the day and fish. Oh and they have the BEST oxtails!! I could eat here every single day. The price no bad either“
“Really good flavor kind customer service and really quick to get me out the door. I got one large order of oxtail and one small curry chicken, their portions are a good size and you get bang for your buck (also updating my review years later) got their curry goat and oxtail this time. The food was truly awesome.I had also purchased Jamaican style Rum Cake (some folks call it "brown cake"), Potato Pudding, and sorrel, considering the fact that my birthday falls into the last and best month of the year...Lol.Nadia and her staff are representing Yard (Jamaica) with high standards, excellent service, and the amazing quality of the food she serves says it all...Since my initial visit and purchases, for me, ALL roads leads to Caribbean Grill, located in Montclair, New Jersey. “Dev’s has some of the best oxtail flavor in Essex county. Trust me readers I had to make a review on this place because I’ve lived in jersey all my life and there’s nothing I mean nothing like devs oxtail. It’s spicy ?️ savory and flavorful. Don’t hesitate to try these oxtails don’t even think just go and buy a large. Trust me people! I beg you! You’re doing a disservice not to try them at least.The downside is I was eating inside of devs and I saw roaches I haven’t seen a roach in years so I was shocked, didn’t stop eating my food though I finished it and said I can’t comeback after I was done. This made me angry ?because I really love the oxtails. I’m tempting to go back as to that was a few years back but I just can’t and it’s hurting bad because there’s nothing close to the oxtail. I’m what you call a raving fan when something is good it’s good. People’s choice golden crust tasty you name them all, none can touch devs oxtail. I’ve been to all the spots and this is number 1. Munchies in south orange was good too but she closed so now I’m starving out here. The owners of dev do something renovate find another location your product is award winning. “The lunch specials are really reasonable. Hotpot makes these dumplings that look like biscuits, and they are soooo good. The fried chicken has a great taste. I am a brown stew person with extra cabbage with less rice. Love the food. I haven't tasted the oxtails, but I heard they are really good.Parking: Make sure you try the dumpling rolls and add some butter or jelly.“
“I have eaten here many times, and they never disappoint! I make it my business to eat from here when I come up to north Jersey. The service is always great. Everyone is friendly. The food is always amazing. I haven't gone here once and had a negative experience with the food. The curry shrimp is my personal favorite. Their desserts are delicious as well. The coconut rum cheesecake is lovely, and their new carrot cheesecake is the bomb. The prices are always super reasonable, and the portions are great. Love this place and highly recommend!!!!“
