“A great breakfast. Without a doubt the best over hard eggs ever. The whites were white and the yoke perfectly firm without being dry and mealy. Everything else was cooked as it should be and served hot. The seasoning in the hash browns and sausage wasn’t my favourite, but personal preferences aside the meals were well prepared. I would definitely make a return visit.“

“The team at Terre knocked it out of the park, yet again. Beautiful, delicious, local food prepared with such attention to detail. We tried the Chef’s choice option. Each course was more impressive than the next. The lamb carpaccio and carrot cake ice cream dessert were to die for. Our server, Ivan was so lovely and warm. He was super helpful with the wine menu and his great service made for the perfect night out. We will definitely be back.“

“We dined here for dinner one Friday evening in late August 2022 and could not have been more pleased with the tasting menu and wine pairing we had.We were very fortunate that they had just obtained a bluefin tuna the day before so at least two of our courses included this.The service was outstanding especially from the Sommelier who was very open & honest with his recommendations. He was not afraid to admit to making bold or unusual choices in his selection (and why) which was unique in our experience and all of his choices were spot on! This along with the friendly and welcoming servers made for an absolutely wonderful evening.Everything was delicious, beautifully presented on the plate in an atmosphere that is was warm, inviting and cozy in stark contrast to the "upscale" vibe usually found in restaurants with tasting menus. The food and service was so outstanding we came back for Sunday brunch and again, we were not disappointed.I cannot wait to visit St John's again if only to once again enjoy the pleasure of dining at Mallard Cottage. We were thoroughly impressed and wholeheartedly recommend dining here.“

“Gayle and I very much enjoyed our Day 1 Lunch at the Red Oak at The Rooms. My guess is that Red Oak is the catering company that operates this scenic (with a killer view of the waterfront including the Narrows) at the Rooms. The restaurant is on a higher floor and once we were done with our Lunch we explored The Rooms from Top to Bottom. Since Newfoundland (and Labrador) is a maritime province we wisely chose seafood dishes, Seafood Stew for Gayle and Cod Cakes for me. Of course we shared. Washing all that down (besides water) was a wee pint of local ale from me and an Oyster Bay (New Zealand) Chardonnay for Gayle. It was all delicious and with stellar service to match. This dining experience was certainly a great start to our St. John's visit.“

“I ordered Cod Bites and fries, to go. Food was ready in 10 minutes. I really appreciate the packaging! Brown paper to soak up any extra grease and the food didn't sweat! Cooked fabulously, fish still moist and batter crunchy. Homade fries double dropped to a dark golden finish. ( my personal preference - I prefer a thinner batter. However, it was enjoyable )“

“This was our first time visiting Zachary’s restaurant in downtown St. John’s. The service was great, although it was a very busy Saturday morning. The fish and brews was excellent.. such a Newfoundland delicacy. The eggs Benedict was good, but my eggs were slightly over cooked for my liking. I would definitely visit again :)“

“Authentic fresh seafood experience especially for those, like myself, who are land locked on the prairies. A great vibe even mid-week Catch of the day was crab and the server even coached us on our shell technique.Opted for the seafood platter for one, which included a combo of steamed lobster, crab & mussels, a delicate shrimp salad, oysters and marinated scallops. It was lunchtime on a Saturday and it was fairly busy but the extraordinarily professional and courteous servers let us know ahead of time that taking our orders would take a little extra time. It actually wasn’t that long! Our food came fairly quickly. Everyone enjoyed theirs. Glad they switched to potato pieces for the hash browns instead of the other stuff. Could have used some more of the tomato/onion mix and a little more hollandaise sauce. Coffee is great but they weren’t quick to refill, but again, busy Saturday at noon. Overall, a great dining experience. It was, however, relatively expensive for four people.“

“The food was really good as well as our waitress. The only drawback was that it was so loud that it was hard to carry on a conversation.Parking: They had accessible parking spaces. Lots of spaces available.Wheelchair accessibility: The entrance is accessible. You have to walk around a bit to get to the Accessible area to the entrance.“

“We had the most delicious pea soup ! What a great menu! Wtg Marys Diner! We will be back for breakfast on Saturday! Can’t wait! I have to add that the furniture is so well thought out for a fast food place. The old with the new. You have a booth with plug ins under your seat for your phone or laptop and across from that are chrome chairs, like we had in the 70’s.“

“We stopped by for a drink and a quick bite. I had their IPA which was really good and my wife had a glass of house red which she liked. We ordered mussels and they were on the small side and many didn't open. We ordered the wine and dessert for two, which came with two glasses of wine and cheesecake. The cheesecake was very good and a great deal. The service was great too.“
