“On a slow monday night, we popped in me and 2 to grab pizzas. The place was surprisingly busy. The staff was very friendly. We order the north ender, south ender, and the calzone. Each were massive delights. North ender with the honey was mouth watering. We also ordered the Cesar salad and the salad was generous and delicious too - and not too garlicky.As a note, the bread is thin and charred just right, and you can taste the oven.Highly recommended. “I’m off to Italy next month, so while on an educational in Halifax my coworker told me how this is one of her favourite spots!I definitely see why! The atmosphere was wonderful, and even though someone decided to cause a drunken scene, the staff dealt with the situation in a very calm manner.We had starters and mains but there was so much food, we were unable to try desert. Next time!My coworker was even able to customize her tortellini dish as it was a favourite of hers no longer on the menu. I actually wished I had gotten the same hers was that good!This place really has made me more excited for my trip to Italy!Highly recommend“

“We always enjoy having an evening out at the Fourth Lock. Fourth Lock offers a a tasty menu and a variety of local beers. The view from the patio of Lake Thomas is to die for, truly spectacular, all within a fifteen minutes of Fall River, Waverley and Wellington. Why go downtown or further, when you can enjoy a nice evening out, right here!!!“

“There is not a better place in Halifax for pizza. Period. Whenever out of town guests come to visit we take them to Salvatore’s for pizza. I took my brother, visiting from Mexico, for The Rodger…thinly sliced mushrooms and roasted garlic. Finished with Romano cheese and a sprinkling of cayenne, it is the most delicious pie I’ve ever enjoyed.“

“Finally had the chance to try Maria’s. Fresh pasta (Mafaldini) had never seen this shape before, 1/4”wide or so, looked like a lasagna noodle),Rosa Sauce and the best Lemoncello cake ever! Made chicken parm with the sauce and noodles and it was excellent. I can see this being a regular stop for take home ingredients. “Thank you all so much for making my moms 50th birthday so special! It was our first time there and it definitely will not be our last. The location is beautiful, inside and out - especially the outdoor seating. The staff was so sweet, and so attentive they really made us feel so taken care of and quite frankly spoiled. The food was absolutely to die for, don’t even get me started on the chicken breast parmigiana. I’ll be dreaming of it until next time.“

“Basically got denied service because I have kids. Went with my young kids to eat early 5pm and was told we couldn't eat there. Staff said they were fully booked, but the place was empty. I had looked online earlier in the day and the earliest booking was at 6pm, so figured they wouldn't be too busy at 5pm if we just walked in. We wouldn't have stayed long anyway (maybe an hour), but they still would not accomodate us. I didn't argue with them or make a fuss, but staff were pretty condescending and didn't make me feel great about being there. Unfortunate, because I will likely take my business elsewhere in the future.Update: Decided to go back since the response to my initial review. Have been happy with the service the last couple times. The food is always good.“

I called to ask a question and the friendliest guy answered the phone and then greeted me with the biggest smile when I walked in to pick up my order.Always appreciate being able to order online and pay online. Only complaint was the first email said "you'll get an email when it's ready" but I didn't. That's why I had to call. NO BIG DEAL, you just made me use my phone for phone calls.. ew. Phone calls. It's 2024. We don't use phones for that ? thankfully friendly guy made up for it.Ordered the chicken Alfredo for four. Came with 4 cookies 4 Pepsi and 4 garlic bread. “I went to meet a friend and I wasn't really expecting to like the food because I'm very picky but I was pleasantly surprised. I tried the seafood olio and it was awesome. I loved it with the garlic bread they served with it. Also, the service was amazing. We were provided with everything we needed and left satisfied and we were even helped to take pictures when we asked so superb!Parking: You can park on the street although you have to walk a few bit to get to the restaurant“

“We came here to celebrate the end of school/moving out. We were so happy with all the food, I will definitely be back to try some of the menu items we didn’t get to. I’d recommend everything we got, although I’m not sure I’d order the salad again but that’s a personal preference. The service was great! It’s a bit of a tight spot but the staff make it work, and the food comes out relatively quickly. The atmosphere is cute, a good mix of a family and a young adult space. Overall great spot and I want to go back!“

“We started going to Cafe Chianti when they were at South and Hollis, and then went numerous times when they were on Barrington St. This was our third visit to their new location. “Upon visiting Halifax after two years, one of my first stops was here. The donair pizza was absolutely delicious. Despite the owner being a little grumpy, his culinary skills are undeniable. The bread, cheese, and meat were incredibly fresh, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.“
