“First time visit to La Perla in Averill Park, NY Thursday 8/17/23 6:30pm reservation. We came because of the music by The Next Chapter, Alan Saunders & Mike Derrico formerly of the Good for the Soul band that played at our wedding in 2006. They were set up in an nice courtyard at the rear of the restaurant, but an hour later had to move inside due to the rain.Very prompt service by the staff. We ordered drinks and looked over the menu. We settled on two appetizers: eggplant rollatini ($20) and the clams casino ($22). Note: clams are offered in 6 different styles. Italian style entrees from $18-33, more for specialty fish entrees i.e. zuppa de pesce $51. This is a fine dining restaurant offering well prepared and a variety of dinners. “My wife recently had to go gluten free, and we have been trying to find a good place to easily get breakfast for a date. We happened to find Birch Baked with a Google search and checked it out. We were not disappointed! We each got a breakfast sandwich and a sweet treat (she got a cookie and I got a cider donut). The food was awesome!! If I didn't know everything was gluten free, I would have had no idea. We are definitely coming back to try out other things like their pizza, hot and cold sandwiches, and the owner told us they are starting a dinner night Thursdays and Fridays with lots of great options. Top notch place filling a big need in the area.“

“Love this quirky yet cozy and super-cool spot. A great thing about Troy is the old buildings there have cool nook-like spaces such as this. The wood fired wings were really good - not straight down the middle typical Buffalo wings, but very good (with top notch bleu cheese.). “Medium” had just the right amount of heat for us. “We ordered 1/2 trays of chicken parm, eggplant parm and more. Everything was perfecto and everyone loved the food. It was our first time using DeFazio's to cater and we will do it again for sure. Highly recommend and kudos to the chefs!!!! Also loved the mini cannolis and genets!!!“

“We spent three glorious days at June Farms. We occupied a Wellness Hut, which was absolutely exquisite in design, comfort, and beautiful privacy amongst the rolling hills and trees. It was much larger than we ever expected with at least 16ft. ceilings. We cooked each meal ourselves, took luxurious saunas, and enjoyed the perfect tub and open shower with amazing views of the snow kissed trees. I can go on further, but I will stop here to leave room for the amazing staff who were all absolutely lovely to us and obviously very very good at what they do. Sarah was outstanding, and knowledgeable and brought us so close to the cows and horses, and I will not soon forget her kindness. Also thanks to Joe who guided us on our sheep walk with a smile, and welcoming demeanor on our first day. Thank you to Michele, our Concierge, and Joshua. Great People. Magnificently clean, happy animals. It feels like a dream, we are blessed to have experienced together. We will be back.“

“This is the best pizza in Troy. Hands down. Yeah you will hear other people say this place is better, that place is better...this is the best. I have been coming here for over 25 years and have never had a slice of pizza that wasn't good. I remember when it was a pizza and a soft drink for $1.50. Still not expensive and relatively decent prices in 2024.“
“From the moment I called Al to discuss catering for an event I was planning I was impressed. He is extremely personable, answered all of my questions and had the quote over to me via text immediately after we spoke the first time and again when I later added mini cannolis to my order. He personally delivered the food to the venue and set up the chafing dishes. It was completely stress free. I returned them the next morning and he came out and got them from my car. Everyone raved about the food. I ordered chicken piccata, stuffed eggplant, rigatoni with sausage, roasted potatoes and green beans, along with delicious warm rolls with butter and of course the to die for cannolis. Multiple people asked where I got the delicious food. I was delighted to tell them to call Al Patricelli. It’s great food for a reasonable price. The big plus is the service! After having a little hiccup in my food order I called to inform them of the issue not expecting anything to be done . “Today we tried Zia's burgers! This was a great burger! Done perfectly. We had a large order with people over so we had it delivered. The delivery person was on time, very helpful and nice. We had their Salad which was large, delicious and filling. The Chicken Parm sub was so large we have more for tomorrow. Looks like Pizza is not the only thing they do well! Now work is farther away AND when I do get Route Four Pizza its only once in a great while. “This is certainly one of the best places to hang out as a student of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. It can be either to grab a coffee, have a bite to eat, or just chill out with your friends. It is also a nice place to study or work.There are ample amenities for charging your laptop, playing some indoor games like table tennis, billiards, etc. There is also a pub upstairs and various meeting rooms. The Panera Bread here is also pretty good.“
“We went here tonight to celebrate my brother's birthday- his choice. The place is very small but it's comfortable. It was a busy Friday night but not once was the crowd overbearing or loud. It felt like we were all just hanging out...chilling. It was actually really awesome how it felt like that. The bartender welcomed us when he realized we were waiting for a table and the waitresses were all very genuinely friendly. Just felt like a nice little family spot you know? The food was amazing and tasted homemade and not the typical "frozen food microwaved or heated up" you find at restaurants. The pasta fagioli was to die for. So much flavor and not heavy at all. The pizza crust we had was a bit dry but the ingredients were fresh and delicious. I loved our waitress. She was truly a wonderful young lady and I'm sorry I forgot her name. Never did we feel rushed or pressured. What a new hidden gem. The grounds are maliciously maintained, the apartment was updated with new appliances, and if service or maintenance was required it was always done in a timely manner.
