“After a nice sauna session a few doors down, we stopped in here for a light dinner. Did not disappoint! Lots of parking in the back, and this place is among several other places on the corner of Ocean and Main. It was pretty full, but we got seated in a cozy spot up front. Immediately drawn to the octopus salad, but also tried the tuna wrap. A half dozen oysters while wating. Everything was fresh and delicious, and the wrap was nice and packed. This might become a regular after-sauna spot. Water glasses were filled often, and the service was nice and cheerful.“

“Very pricey but understandable with inflation and all so it is what it is and it’s still good food. We each got a seafood boil and the sauce was good this time (it’s a hit or miss). It’d be great if they offered a platter option. I’m used to Monster Crab (I usually go to the one in Holtsville), where we would get so much more for what we paid.“

“I had my daughter's bridal shower there on April 20th. From the first moment I walked in, Patty was a tremendous help. She was warm, friendly and confident in answering all of my questions. The staff was excellent, attending to all of our guests needs. The food was delicious- everyone raved about it. I would highly recommend The Snapper Inn.“

“Last night we had a delectable dinner at Basil. The chilien sea bass jumped from the sea in my plate. The seasoning was perfect. The rice was cooked to perfection. The cuisine is light and tasty. My husband had the beef skewers which he enjoyed and he is very difficult to please. Desert got a high mark with the baklava and the chocolate bread pudding which you should not miss. The service was perfect. The ambiance was noisy and bubbly. We will definitely return to Basil for its excellent table.“

“We’ve ordered through uber eats twice and have been so happy every time! The margarita pizza and the vodka pie are both great.I was prompted to review with 5 stars because i ordered a ginger ale, and they didnt have any. Not only did they read the order instructions and replace it with a sprite, they also left an apology note on my drink! They not only have stellar food, but they clearly have great people working for them too.“

“A perfect neighborhood restaurant serving great food, with a great staff that can't be more efficient than they are. We love this place and everyone we've recommended to visit says the same. We have friends that come from Mount Sinai to South Ocean Grill and state there's no place like this on the North Shore. Keep doing what you're doing and we'll be seeing you again at South Ocean Grill. CharlieMal. Ps. Need a Cappuccino machine to top of the desserts!“

“Just left and had a great meal. Sat at the bar and had wonderful service from the barmaid Justine. I had the boneless wings with oldbay which were awesome and for dinner I had the Cajun Chicken Caesar Wrap. It was great, bunch of chicken and great Caesar dressing which I'm guessing is homemade. I've had a few meals here and this is by far the best item on the menu!“

“Dined here several times since opening over the summer. Service is spot on, food delicious and love the outdoor dining and relaxing by the fire pits. Burgers are very good, (we enjoy the toasted English muffin buns), crab salad on croissant is great. Every appetizer we have tried has been awesome. Nice little place on the water nestled in the marina. We will frequent here often year round.“

“I've lived in the area for years and never been inside this place until two weeks ago. The inside of the establishment has this classy old-school charm about it. It was a tiny bit confusing because they had the podium in the front by the door and the sign on it said to wait there I noticed everybody walked in anyway so I just went. Maybe they can hide that somewhere else until it's that time of the night or something? Anyway, one of my favorites slices is the grandma slice and I had to try theirs because it was suggested over and over to me by many people. So after finally trying one slice, I ended up buying a whole pie and taking it home. Yes, it's a tiny bit expensive in comparison to the other places locally but the quality of pie is worth the extra money. If you want to be taken back in time and enjoy a great slice then come here.“

Service is fast but never rushed, accommodating to extra needs and delightful to talk to. Tonight we had Carissa who was so charming and made great recommendations for our experience. She made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our crab legs and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great girls night ! Get the Cajun blend any time you do a boil, you won’t be disappointed!“

“This place is different. Different from the other American Chinese take out, I grew up eating. The Dan Dan Noodles, house special fried rice, and the Orange Chicken are some of the regular options we go with. The service is attentive and friendly. It's definitely worth a try.“

“This place is tiny but adorable. The food is absolutely delicious - incredibly fresh and flavorful. We got three quesadillas: shrimp, fish, and fried chicken. The prices were reasonable and you get a lot for the price. The workers were delightful. We will definitely be back!“

“Chose Picchu from the YELP reviews.. FANTASTIC!! Our waitress, Denise, was MORE than helpful in helping us making our choices: we wanted to try true Peruvian cuisine. Appetizer of calamari was great! The chicken entree I chose was off the charts. I saw the paella past me, and we will be coming back fur that!!! The owner stopped by our table, and gave us shots, thanking us for coming in. We told him that we are DEFINITELY coming back!“
“To start my review, I just wish there were more stars in the food and service category. Trio deserves 10 ⭐'s for both. This restaurant handles two types of food service, restaurant seating and catering for small to large parties. I've now experienced both. My most recent was a repast after a funeral. When everyone is emotional, the last thing the family needs is problems with the food service. Well, in our case, more people showed up than were originally expected. The staff at Trio didn't miss a beat. They set up additional tables in a flash and quickly had the tables set. We had buffet style dining and the selection was outstanding, with something for everyone. From soup to nuts, everything was delicious. They had fish, beef, vegetarian selections and even offered coffee and dessert. (by the way, if I had known how good the desserts would've been, I might have eaten a little less dinner.)The service is impeccable, everything is clean and fresh, the linens and tablecloths were spotless.I'd like to add that Trio is on the grounds of the Holbrook Country Club. You can grab lunch and drinks after you play, just show up and they accommodate parties of all sizes. You won't be disappointed!“

“One of the best take out Chinese restaurants! Food always taste fresh. They’re very efficient when it comes down to the wait time. Never worried about having cold food cause that will not happen. Everyone provides the top notch services and this place is very accommodating. Pricing is reasonable for the portion of food you’ll get. Highly recommended. Bonus: boneless spareribs with pork fried rice is always the favorite food to get“

“Came here on a casual night drive and by dinner time we didn't know where to stop to eat. We were driving on the 27A and looking for places for dinner and we came across this place with very good ratings. Food is very good and well made. The Miso soup was not overly salted as some other Japanese places I've been. The décor is very typical of Japanese as it has these semi private booths which I have never seen before in any Japanese restaurants. Really liked this place and service was attentive. Even though it's a bit far from where I live I will def stop by when I am near this establishment.“
“First time here. The fried shrimp and lobster bisque was delicious! The outdoor seating is nice. I'll bet that fire pit is amazing at night. Not sure if you are dog friendly so we left our furry companion in the car while we ate at one of the picnic tables outside to keep an eye on her. Definitely looking forward to our next meal here.“

“Cannot imagine rating The Shack poorly. Where do you think you are, the Waldorf?? Skilled bartenders pouring great drinks (rocket fuels with the actual correct ingredients, unlike other establishments on the island!) Fun environment with live music on the weekend. Just steps from the beach too! Nothing better on a hot beach day!“

“I ordered the foil-packet fish dinner for a Saturday lunch. It blew my mind when I saw the lady bartender skillfully unravel the foil (see video below) to expose the fish dish. The steam escaped the foil, clouding my surroundings. The fish was fresh and well-seasoned.I will be back to try more dishes.CASH ONLY ESTABLISHMENT!!!“

“Super fun spot. This was THE place to be every night we were here. Tuesday night, we cane for Bitchy Bingo, with drag queen Ariel Sinclair, which was hilarious. Then Wednesday, we came for "Wisdom Wednesday" with singer Victoria Wisdom, another male singer, and saxophonist, all of whom were awesome! Then Thursday, we came for a late 8:30 pm dinner and the Fire Island Follies at 9! Really entertaining. For drinks, the Mermaid Margarita hit the spot. For dinner, loved my scallops, and my husband really liked his linguini with prosciutto, sausage and pistachio cream sauce.“

“A typical pub atmosphere. We got a nice corner spot by the window for my dad’s retirement dinner. The sausage soup and filet mignon looked delicious! I had the mozzarella chicken and I brought home plenty of leftovers. You of course need to have the pub cheese and toast. I’m so glad they put it out on the table! This restaurant has been a long time for my entire family.“

“Checked in and the place was packed a very good sign. Menu selection was either all you can eat (AYE) or ala carte menu, we opted for the Ala carte menu. FYI if one ordered the AYE the entire table must do AYE. Ordered the combo with snow crab, lobster tail, shrimp, corn and potatoes. The seafood was fresh, plentiful, sauces were delicious. Generous portion and price was fair. Drinks were excellent as well. Many people eating the AYE and looked happy. Service was good, food was delicious check it out.“

“When we have been to The Oar in the past, everything has been outstanding. This visit did not reach that level. We had a 4:00 reservation. One would think menu availability would not be an issue at that time of day. First, the ingredients for a drink had run out. A dessert offering was also no longer available. When the bill arrived, it included the items requested but unavailable. The server promptly fixed the error, but that shouldn't occur. We will return, and hopefully, these issues will be resolved.“

“We went camping here over Labor Day weekend. Our camping game is high (meaning we have lots of gear to make it super comfy), but trying to limit our equipment knowing that we have to carry everything from the ferry to the campsite was stressful. But we did it, and it was 100% worth it! Here is what we learned:It is buggy!! Bring Picaridin spray for the body. We had 2-6 oz cans between 5 people, and we used them both for the 5 day weekend. Spray tents with Sawyer insect repellent to keep the bugs away from the tents. If you have, bring a cart. It is quite a hike with your gear from ferry to campsite, and in the heat is it's not fun. You can borrow carts from the ferry station area. Ask the staff.Bring bungee chords to keep all your equipment in place on the cartsThere is camp store with all necessary supplies, but it is expensive. If you can organize and bring everything from mainland, it will be cheaper. There is boardwalk everywhere. Unless you are wilderness camping on the beach, you won't have to drag anything through sand (phew!!)Choosing a campsite: The map on the reserve america is not clear. Some campsites are two in an alcove area. If you are a group of two sites, you need to pick correctly. Site 10 is solo site. 11/12, 9/8, 7/6 are alcove, the others are in row next to each other. Unlike other campgrounds we have been to, these sites are on the smaller side. In our 11/12 site we luckily picked an alcove area, we had two sleeping tents and bug tent. There is a restaurant at the marina which becomes a disco on the weekend. The food is pretty good, cocktails are not bad!Beach is walking distance from the tents with a lifeguardLots of birds, and very chatty gray catbirds (bring ear plugs! I kid you not! One was right outside our tent at 5 am!!)It seems that a lot of families come back every year on the same weekend, and it felt like close community.National Parks have lots of activities during the day. On Monday they had a canoeing trip. You had to sign up the day of the trip to get a spot.Highly recommend, and we will make it an annual trip!I am not sure the glamping sites are worth the price but we have all camping gear. I can't speak of their comfort.“

“Went there off-season so our experience was definitely subpar. Service was pretty gruff, we felt like we were disturbing the locals. You'd think they would be more welcoming when business has slowed dramatically. More than half the menu was unavailable so I just had the Schooner burger with blue cheese crumbles. It was good, not great. I imagine it's a better time experience during the summer, so YMMV.“

“This is a very nice restaurant, the food and service is great. If I had to say anything, the only thing I could say is that I didn't like the music. It was verge on heavy metal and I found it distracting. It would be more appropriate in the bar area.“

“Castaway fried rice, as a worker on the island you can get a little lonely sometimes. But when I'm lonely you know what's there for me? Castaway fried rice. “A really pleasant experience, the people who work there are always so happy to accommodate you, both dine in or take out is always the same, caring and friendly atmosphere.Dietary restrictions: They can help with your diet, with a variety of different types of fish and other seafood. The best thing about this store is they cook right there on the premises, I love their fried oysters and ceviche with shrimp and fresh vegetables is so refreshing.Parking: Parking is in the back of the facility. Not wheelchair accessible.“
