“I came here for the 1st time during restaurant week & I cannot wait to return back to try the rest of the menu. The staff & atmosphere was friendly & welcoming, you could tell locals come all the time. Everything I ordered was tasty, but the star of the show was my main entree, Moqueca (Brazilian fish stew with tomatoes, pepper, onions & coconut milk) - It was both comforting and flavorful. The fish was cooked to perfection (soft, tender & flaked easily with my fork), the coconuts milk stew was rich & robust in flavor, with a smooth enough consistency to coat your spoon. In summary, it was chefs kiss! ?“
“Food is good but they raised their prices and it's only worthwhile if you can get them to actually bring the dishes you order. Sometimes we have difficulty getting orders in even when they're not that busy. Still, very solid place.“
“Great lil Izakaya! The staff are extremely friendly and hospitalable, the food is delicious, the portion sizes are very generous, and a combination can be made if asked in advance.Definitely get the cheese corn and put some sweet soy sauce on it... And ask for the sweet and spicy sauce on the side, it makes any dish 50 times better lol. There's two other locations in New York, apparently one is in Manhattan, I'm not a local so I can't remember where the other location is... Either way I'm coming back to the Flushing location as I just really love the atmosphere, the location, and the staff...If you see the owner, tell them that the Black nerdy girl from Mississauga recommended the place and said to say hi ?“
“A MUST TRY! I’ve been coming here for the past couple months and I can’t get enough! Safe to say, the BEST BBQ I’ve ever had! My favorite is a full rack and ask to get of them deep fried. Super friendly staff give this place a shot you won’t be disappointed.“
“After visiting the Museum of Moving Image in Astoria we walked up the block and had a nice lunch at Pig Beach BBQ. My husband and I split the sampler platter which we both enjoyed. My favorite was the pulled pork and my husband’s favorite was the ribs.We were both surprised that it was more of a cafeteria style set up instead of sit down. To me that was probably the only drawback. But it was a very laid back casual atmosphere which a lot of people may find appealing.“
“The staff was incredibly sweet and welcoming. This was my first experience doing Japanese Style BBQ where a server helps prepare the meat for you, and they made the experience very special. Both the server and the chef, who was preparing the cuts of meat for us in an open style serving area, would introduce the cut and the kind of sauce or condiment it goes well with, while giving enough time for us to chat and eat before coming back with the next round of cuts. Overall the service, cuts of meat, quality, atmosphere, and service were excellent and I can’t wait to go back again!“
“I’ve tried my fair share of ayce bbq, and this is easily the BEST. From the meat selection to the dessert bar, it’s so clear how much thought was put into the curation of this restaurant. The service was, also, just exceptional. We came right before the last seating time, and the staff made it known that we shouldn’t rush ourselves. They guided us through what to try, what tastes best etc. Left here incredibly stuffed with not just food, but also the love of the welcoming staff - will definitely be back! Could not recommend more.“
“Slightly hard to write this review as I arrived a bit late to the meal. I went here months upon months ago. Not knowing that this was part of Dun Huang, I thought I went to the wrong restaurant but it turned out it was one and the same which was surprising. I was here with a group of nine others. As I arrived a bit late, the soup dumplings had already been there a while but they were still of very good quality. My favorite of the night was the Salted Egg Yolk & Shrimp Stir-Fried Rice Cakes. The texture of the rice cakes were perfect and the egg yolk complimented it well. I also liked the Dry Fried Shredded Eel & Chives. I also would have preferred them less shredded as I couldn't taste much of the eel texture but the sauce was nice and the blend with the chives added some good depth. The Fried Dough Twist Spicy Chicken or Laziji with Mahua was also surprisingly spicy for a restaurant which is primarily Shanghainese now so I guess they still have some influence from the old Dun Huang. I've had it before with these dough twists from the excellent Peppercorn Station and these rivaled that place even though the chicken there was a bit pricier but then again there was larger pieces of chicken in the latter. The Fish Fillets in Sour Cabbage Soup was also pretty solid as well as the Grilled Lamb Kebabs. You can essentially see Andie's review for the rest of my thoughts as they essentially reiterate hers. Yes it was too hot inside and as I was rushing to get there, I got warmer than most but oh well. Would go back but maybe go during the fall or winter if the AC isn't fixed yet. Mid 4“
“*Went on a Saturday*Food came out suspiciously fast, but it was ok, no complaints.*Yes, music is loud - but fun loud, not annoying loud*Music was fun. Live DJ was a fun touch to the vibe*Service was attentive and quick, even as the place packed in*I would say, go for a good time, not a chill relaxing time/ Brunch on a Saturday is more vibrant than that.*Lots of all girl tables, hands up, bottomless mimosas... Def a good time ?“
“My coworker can to work today and we started talking about good tasting food, so she stated"have you ever taste John Brown BBQ, she made it sound so delicious that we decided to go after work. She couldn't wait to get the cornbread. Long story short... we went and when I tell you everything was delicious... I mean everything was delicious ? lol nice cozy atmosphere, not too pricey. Friendly host AND within walking distance ( i don't have to keep going to Wendy's and the neighborhood deli.. so... moving along i brought an order of burnt brisket. Collards greens ( that S#×t was Delicious oops excuse me in getting off track.lol. I got the ribs and the cornbread. I was planning on sharing with my daughter but I'll get her next time. Lol by the way I don't do reviews “
“We haven’t been to Lenny’s in a few years and decided to go for dinner on a Thursday night. The food was just as good as I remembered it. The fried calamari was great. My son devoured the mozzarella sticks. My husband got the linguini alfredo with breaded chicken and I got the penne ala vodka with grilled chicken. The portions were huge, we could have definitely shared. But the food really was fantastic.“
“This place is such a gem! Price is not bad, and the food is amazing! I don't know what authentic Tibetan food should taste like, but this place is a family-owned business so I would inclined to believe that they serve authentic food. I came here for lunch today at around 1PM. The place was empty but as I began devouring my lunch, more people showed up for a late lunch, and guessing from the language they speak, they are all Tibetans/Himalayans. The menu is not necessarily friendly to non-Tibetans but my server was kind enough to explain menu items. I did also google some of the names of the food to figure out my order. I settled with an appetizer, a dropa khatsa. It's stir fried beef tripe. It's got a hint of curry but not overpowering and it doesn't remind you of Indian food. I The main dish I ordered was the mala dry pot with rice noodle fan (similar to Korean japchae noodles) with beef stomach (beef tripe but the bible tripe kind), fish balls, and mushrooms. The dry pot was spicy but not overly spicy. I caught a hint of Chinese Five Spice in it. Will definitely come back to try more food!“
“Amazing Filipino restaurant in Queens. We ordered tapsilog, tocilog, batangas style lomi and ube coconut bar. They were delicious and very affordable. We also ordered bangsilog to go. THE UBE COCONUT BAR IS SOOOOOO GOOD! Will definitely come back and try the other food on the menu and the ube coconut bar again!!!“
“delicious food. really really yum. everything came quickly too. almost 5 stars other then the chinese elevator music. i’d rather eat glass than hear that. other than that place was top :) make a rezo. can’t just pop in…Be ready to spend. not joseph’s burger…“
“On March 25,2024, My first time visiting this restaurant. I was in New York visiting. I ordered the two meat combo (BBQ Ribs & Chicken) with collard greens, macaroni and cheese, and I added the sweet potatoes. The atmosphere was mellow. It was trivia night. Had a few participants. It was fun. I sat at the bar watching the women’s college basketball game. The BBQ barbecue ribs was overcook. When I bit into them it fell off the bone. They were overcooked. They may have been reheated. They were very chewy; like chewing bubblegum. The drumsticks were not cook fully. The barbecue sauce was delicious and tasty. The collard greens were bland no seasoning. The macaroni and cheese was like velveeta out of the box. It was creamy, but still delicious and tasty. The sweet potatoes were unique it had walnuts in it. My drinks were very delicious. The staff, (Gisele, Karen, Alex and Jason) all was outstanding and friendly.Kid-friendliness: The staff (Giselle, Karen, Alex & Jason) all outstanding & friendly.“
“Food is always excellent. Service is great, and the atmosphere is family oriented. Sometimes they are a few patrons that display disrespect toward others with the use of their cell phones on speaker either when watching videos or having private personal conversations that the rest of the costumers have no need to be subjected to. Management should try to keep a policy of no speaker allowed .“
“First time hear. Read good things. But a couple basic issues for me that don't seem that difficult to change. The pulled pork was delicious. Maybe best I'd ever had with one exception, it was stone cold.My baked beans were piping hot. Why not the pork? The Hawaiian bread rolls, also stone cold. On a cold day why not serve a hot meal to your customers who won't get out for jnder $30. When i nicely asked why it wasn't possible, her response really didn't cut the spicy hot mustard sauce, (which was also very good.). Anyway she was kinda flip and terse. "whaddya want honey, I'm in a garage."Pretty spacious garage that could easily accommodate a bread warmer and a hot meal. Bottom line, they need to raise theirgame.“
“This restaurant was seriously fantastic! The marinated chicken? Absolutely mouthwatering. And let me tell you, the kalbi marinated steak? It was beyond flavorful and savory, words just don't do it justice. But what really impressed me was how clean the place was, and the staff? They were incredibly friendly and attentive. And with the all-you-can-eat deal, you definitely feel like you're getting your money's worth.“
“Outstanding. This establishment is a perfect embodiment of a simple place that serves incredible food. Forget about the fancy chairs, seats and decor...none of that here (the wall tapestry is actually amazing...though)... It's food packed with intelligent flavor, genuine spirit and love. Nothing more, nothing less. I'd go here any day over the millions of 'fancy' restaurants that look great, but have absolutely no soul, are generously rude to customers and serve insipid food. Do yourself a favor and take the train, car, whatever you need to do...to get here!“
“So we did delivery and pick up from this spot right here!!!!PLEASE PEOPLE! Check them out!!!Food is 100/10Service is 50/10Atmosphere is 50/10This is the best food spot on far rockaway in my eyes !!Their pullpork, brisket, Mac and cheeszy! Bussin bussin bussin!!!Hit them up asap!“
“The staff is friendly, the food is good and a sizable portion. The bar staff is always more than willing to give the customers the remote so they can change the channels to watch a game or show. They also approach the customers and ask if they would like a particular style of music to be played.“
“Great bar food in a great atmosphere. My husband and I end up here for dinner at least once a week and always have a good time. Bartenders are nice, we love the mug club, and the food is consistent.Kid-friendliness: We see lots of kids in here in the earlier hours of the day!“
“After waiting approximately 15 minutes, I had to verbally make my presence known although one of the employees just kept packing orders WITHOUT ACKNOWLEDGING ME! It seems like your only concern is with your online orders. I've been a customer since the 90's when you were located on Halsey St. “
“Mashallah alhamdulliah everything was amazing biryani was perfect kebab delicious I give ? May Allah bless all the hand who are preparing this delicious meal over there I’m satisfied with everything the delivery was perfect as well jazakAllah “
“i came because my favorite spot was closed but this is now my favorite spot lol. food was AMAZING 10/10 , the ribs are bomb. Rebecca was a sweetheart! she made our drinks at the bar she was very attentive and fast. I am definitely coming here againParking: there was street parking but i was mid day on a weekday, so it might be hard on a weekend. there was a parking lot across the street though .“
“Food here was quite amazing. You want to try to be adventurers when trying new types of food. We arrived with a large part in the back enjoying a fund time. We attempted to try a large portion of the menu. Some items may throw some people off but I wanted to try everything. What we didn’t realize the desert wasn’t on the main menu and by the time we finished our main course the kitchen was closed. Take the train it wasn’t that far from the restaurant. Pork chicken beef fish it alls works well. Various rice dishes were also amazing.Parking: There is free or paid street parking if you can find it. Train ride wasn’t that bad from the 4 train to the 7 train.“
“Mr. Flava did it again!!! Great food at great prices. I lived in brooklyn for a few months and would hit this spot with my girlfriend weekly. Highly recommend doing the too good to go app here as well because you get a big bowl of food for $5.99. Best thing available is the jerk chicken!“
“I'm a customer of this place since the 90's. The quality of the food is great, with portions for leftovers if not devoured in one sitting on an extremely hungry day. Love and longevity is put into the food that's made for the masses.“
“We was there on Monday evening the food was so delicious ????? and yummy ?? I was together with my friend ??? I'm going crazy for it I really really enjoyed it so much ???? thank you so much ? for your yummy ?? foodParking: I'm looking forward to come back again soon ???? together with my friend“
“First time trying this place, I found this awesome combo deal $9.99 on little red book. I wanted to see what all the hype was all about. The combo came with lamb noodle soup and 5 lamb bbq skewers. This was a great deal and awesome combination. I've had and tried many lamb noodle soup in many places, the favor of lamb is very tricky. As for this soup base it covered the tacky taste of lamb which was a plus on my end. Service was acceptable, they deal is before 5pm, I stopped in around 12pm. They offered warm water, but didn't come out till I finished my meal, due to no hot water. Overall I had a good experience, I definitely would come back and try their other combos.“
“It was amazing here the Roast Pig and the Roast Duck are to die for. The food is healthy and hearty as well as delicious. The servers are nice and remember us. I am not Cantonese but I love Cantonese food and this really opened a door deep inside of my soul. Amazing 5/5!“
“Known as "Party BBQ" in English: Located on Broadway, between 45th Ave & Whitney Ave., in Elmhurst (in front of the Asian Supermarket which has its own parking lot). This BBQ lot has been here for years and has quite a large following. There's always a line of ppl patiently waiting for their BBQ goodness! On this Tuesday evening at around 7:30pm, it was no exception; there were about 8 ppl on line. But don't let that deter you from ordering your BBQ Skewers! The line moves surprisingly quickly. This is a one man show and he was hustling! Kudos to the hardworking gentleman making our BBQ Kebabs, and don't forget to tip him!On this visit, we tried their Beef and Lamb Kebabs ($1.75 each). We asked for the kebabs with cumin and extra spicy. These were so flavorful and delicious! My only complaint is that some pieces were very fatty but very good nonetheless.I will definitely be looking for this cart the next time I'm in the area. Looking forward to trying their other skewers! (See my photos for their menu offerings).“
“Great place nearby for Chinese bbq! The food has been consistently good. I like to come here for brunch congee and roast meats over rice. Every time I've dined in, the food has been delicious. One time I got an order of roast pork to go and didn't like it as much but feel like that was a one off. The service has been good for us. It's also been the same gentleman that has waited our table and he's always been helpful and nice.“
“A hidden gem in Queens. Word of mouth is really how one finds out about this great establishment for smoked salmon. Competes equally with the bigger well known one in Brooklyn. Carmen is great. Friendly, great service and cuts the salmon like a pro. The smoked salmon is full of flavor. Other highlights here are the sturgeon and baked salmon but the lox is the go to. Decent prices and will be back for all my lox cravings.“
“Really great food and dim sum! I've eaten here at least twice a month for the past half a year and I'm always satisfied with the meal. Definitely try the triple meat meal to kind of hash out what meat they make is your favorite (I love them all).Pork buns, dumplings and fish balls are great too. Just do yourself a favor - order!“
“Tried Chicken over rice, Spicy chicken sandwich and hot wings. Loved them, the flavor and juiciness of the sandwich and hot wings are perfect. Especially their own sausage of the spicy chicken sandwich and their white sauce for chicken over rice is just superb!!“
“Came here for lunch with my mom a few weeks ago. We ordered Salt and Pepper Squid and it came out piping hot but too bready and not enough flavor. The. Duck Congee was okay it just needed some seasoning. The beef chow fun and Cambodian noodle soup had great flavor and we thoroughly enjoyed those. Our server was great and attentive. We would come back again but not order the squid.“
“They are (in my opinion) better than other fried chicken spots in the area. The food is good. Not only the chicken but other things like the side dishes as well as some other mains. The place is a little distance away from my place of residence so I drive kind of far to get here. They have a small parking area on the side which is good. Decent size establishment. When I went in I was greeted. He took my order and I asked a few questions about a couple of items and got positive answers. I went back a second and third time. That means I liked it. Thank you.“
“To start off, this place had a great vibe to it. If you were to go out with friends to this place, it’s great for a drinking atmosphere. The projectors project onto the walls some sort of images I don’t quite remember. It’s nicely lit inside with colorful blueish lights and other colors. The seating arrangement’s alright. A bit too close to other tables. The food was alright. I personally enjoyed the garlic that came with the main dish. I think that the main dish tasted very interesting? Like it’s an acquired taste. The dish was also very oily though.. (Highly recommended the pork wrapped enoki mushroom skewers! They were lovely.)The service was fine. The food took a long time to come out and when we ordered take-out afterwards to bring home and it took around 30 minutes to be done. Considering how it wasn’t very busy, it took a little too long in my opinion.“
“Just moved here and this is the second time I’ve been here for a burger in 2 weeks… and that’s me holding back? burger meat was fresh as h*ll, and the taste and texture was stupendous. Jennifer was my server and she held it down!!!! With excellent and prompt service, as well as some good convo… ours was about animal rescues ;) couldn’t have had a better lunch. Super wholesome experience.“
“We were so surprised that a chain restaurant could feel so cozy and comfortable! The food was superbly prepared and presented! Our server Bruno and his colleagues were friendly and accommodating providing a most enjoyable dining experience!“
“It's the only fried chicken place in the neighborhood so prices are higher than what you'd get at a Kennedy fried chicken. Nonetheless the chicken is pretty good and it comes out pretty fast once you order. The place looks very clean as well.“
“The environment is not very special, but luckily I like the taste very much? This is the most appetizing barbecue I have ever eaten. There are hot pot and barbecue restaurants everywhere in Flushing. This is the first restaurant I have come across that makes me love food so much. The landlady said that they have been open for more than 5 years. How did I just discover it?Parking: We parked on the street that day and there were many parking spaces.“
“This place is great to have late night meal with friends. Average price for their skewers are about $2 which is alright but they do have cheap beers. We love their bean curd salad. Good and fast service. The place isn't super clean but not too bad.“
“This restaurant serves very old fashioned soul food. It offers a wide selection of southern dishes most people would like. The drinks are excellent and diverse ranging from lemonade, juices, and coke. All of the waiters are sharp and courteous. The wait times are normal with a 20 minute wait for the main courses to arrive. Highly recommend“
“Best barbecue in NYC by a country mile. Ribs are tender, flavorful and have a nice crisp to them. The pulled pork is just as tender and sets a high bar for comfort food excellence. The sides tonight were collard greens and beans, both of which have a good level of spice/kick to them. Two mets and two sides is $25 and could easily feed two people.Fyim there's going to be a (long) wait, but it's well worth it!“
“I had their coquito French toast. Those were delicious. I also enjoyed their fried fish with plantain fries? since I was there for a few hours for an event, I also ordered their salmon and grits? The grits were a little runny for my taste but overall, good eats!“
“Probably the best Barbeque food you can ever try. Me and my wife have taken out food from here since it first opened. We are probably their most loyal customers if anything. 100 out of 10 in our book. Only way to believe is to try this place.“
“I went here with a group of friends. It is a small intimate bar. They occasionally have a kitchen that serves homemade dishes. Lots of inexpensive bottles of icy cold beers, as well as mixed drinks. There is a pool table and a dart board, music from cd's. I had fun but I knew a lot of people in the bar. Very friendly staff. They also have "guest bartender night". A frequent patron acts like the bartender for the evening.“
