“This restaurant has been around for a long time. They always have the best quality and best portions when it comes to Chinese food up here in Albany. Service is always very quick unless it's a holiday and they get really busy. They will usually give you a a time frame of when the food will be ready for pick up. My favorite is their general Tso's chicken and cheese wontons. Prices are insanely cheap for today's economy. I can't even go to McDonald's without spending $50 on my family of four. At double dragon, $50 goes a very long way! Cash only!! Great customer service by the family who runs the whole restaurant.“

“Juliana(hope I'm spelling it right) was absolutely wonderful! Excellent service, very friendly, great prices, and super clean! Juliana helped me figure out what I wanted to eat as I was out for a stroll just getting fresh air and wasn't really planning on getting anything from anywhere and everything sounded so good! Ended up getting the boyfriend his usual (general tso's chicken) and I got the hunan chicken. Got home, tried it, loved it and it's officially one of my favorite places now! Tonight was our first time trying it and I can't say enough good things about it! Hands down THE BEST general tso's chicken I have ever had in my entire life and the hunan chicken was also amazing. I was nervous because it's always a hit or miss when you try new places and they definitely earned three new lifelong customers! The chicken was cooked perfectly, the texture was amazing and the sauce was so fresh and flavorful and everything was fresh! Normally I hate babycorn but even that was delicious and didn't have that weird dirt after taste you normally expect. And I finally found the veggie egg rolls that remind me of the place I used to go as a kid! I can't wait to go back and try more items on the menu!“

“From my 9 year old: This is the best place in the city, EVER. I love it so much, the food is so good and the people are so nice. It has a perfect name complimented by the water feature in the lobby. I would rate it one thousand million stars if I could. The staff is genuine and warm, just the best. I wish there were more places like this.“

“This is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Albany. Each dish that I’ve tried has been delicious. We go here regularly when our family is in town because they always request to eat here. Their offerings are authentic flavored to perfection!“

“No matter how busy they are, you are always greeted with a smile. Your order is taken quickly and the wait time is minimal. We ALWAYS place huge orders, when family comes to Ravena to visit (over $100) and no matter what we order, the food is piping hot & delicious. We have some food allergies and a family member with Asperger Syndrome (Autism) who will not eat certain foods and EVERYTIME they are willing to accommodate our order by adding/subtracting ingredients to fit their request. Here's an example: This person wanted fried rice with no onions, vegetables or eggs (basically rice that is in their special sauce/seasonings) and without any problems, it was cooked just as requested... with a smile! We LOVE the family that runs this place and have come here for years without once being disappointed in any item we have ordered. Even when we are being "adventurous" and try items from the menu that we've never tried before, we ALWAYS receive the same high quality meal, with fresh ingredients. Lately, we've been ordering extra (Like the awesome chicken & broccoli) and freezing it so we can have it when that "craving hits" when the restaurant isn't open. I know this is a long comment, but there are not enough good things I can say about this restaurant. Even though there are several other Chinese Restaurants within 10 miles of our home (at least 9 other establishments between Delmar and Glenmont to the north and Coxsackie to the south) China King is the ONLY one we patronize. They are THAT good!Vegetarian options: They have many vegetarian options and, as said above, are willing to adjust their regular menu items, to meet any and all requests.Parking: The restaurant is located in the Faith Plaza shopping center with a huge, free parking lot available for use.Dietary restrictions: As mentioned above, we have family members who cannot/will not eat certain foods and they will adjust their menu item to exactly meet your order requests... no matter how busy they are.“

“I am not a Chinese food person. However, I actually enjoy this restaurant. So far, I have tried the house fried rice, house noodles, orange chicken, curry chicken, chicken Satay and crab rangoon. I actually think crab rangoon was tasty and crunchy. It has authentic flavor. I thought the curry chicken was flavorful and not heavy. I say my fave so far is the house noodles. It has all beef, chicken and seafood. I also want to mention, the portions are huge and the price is reasonable. I have only had take outs but I will be a repeat customer. I would recommend as Chinese food go, there is above average.“

“About 18% of the world's population lives in China while the U.S. has approximately 4.5% of the population. I've tended to think of Chinese cuisine as a monolithic entity rather than a dynamic mix of regional cuisines. I've been trying to address my ignorance by eating at Chinese restaurants that advertise their regionality. Hong Kong Bakery & Bistro is Cantonese/Guangdong. From my very limited research, the cuisine is light and mild, steamed rather than stir fried. This is certainly a simplification but it is a starting point. One of the more famous dishes from the region is dim sum. Dim sum means "touch the heart". They are small steamed or fried savory items, snacks. These are the items I focused on during my visits to the bakery/bistro. Each item was different enough from the other to make for a pleasant and satisfying meal. Steamed dishes - beef ball with bean curd skin, shrimp with spinach dumpling, roast duck dumpling, rice rolls with roast duck. Fried dishes included deep fried pork dumpling and fried shrimp ball. Most of the rolls were made with glutinous rice of varying thickness or cornstarch, either steamed or deep fried. The sauces were also wide-ranging, savory to sweet, and added much to the meal. What I didn't know - dim sum is usually accompanied with tea. I can see how that can elevate the experience. Since it is a bakery, I also tried some of those items. Custard buns, coconut custard buns, coconut pudding, dried pork buns, and even tiramisu were tested. Some notes - The dried pork buns added pork floss (dried pork manipulated to the texture of rough cotton candy) to the outside of the bun. Coconut pudding - subtle fragrance and flavor of coconut coagulated with agar agar as the gelling agent. It's more "bouncy" than jello - not my favorite. I think some of the baked items were bought from a wholesaler - there's a whole lot there. The most underwhelming item was the tiramisu. Well, who gets tiramisu at a Cantonese place? I guess I do. This taught me a lesson as this item seemed to have languished in the display case for a bit longer than it should. Overall, it's a really good place to try different dim sum. A word of warning - Italian desserts might be saved for another place.“

“I’m a truck driver passing through Albany NY. Stopped at this place and ordered Lo Mein with Chicken and Beef. The food turned out amazing. The best lo mein I have ever had. On top of that, their service was really great. Nice people. Definitely recommend this “
“Wow! Most Chinese takeout is all the same. But whatever these guys are doing has kicked out up a notch. The chicken was hot and crispy yet tender, the sauces were flavorful, crab Rangoon were excellent! Well done. It looks like there might be a couple tables to sit at, but the atmosphere is takeout friendly. There is only street parking.“

“It's takeout Chinese, nothing fancy, but the egg rolls are always crispy and I am impressed that they seem to use fresh vegetables in their dishes. I got the cashew shrimp recently and it was loaded with fresh chopped zucchini and carrots, versus other places where it's just a handful of celery and pre-frozen diced carrots.“

“I ordered a Spicy Salmon roll and a Philadelphia roll. They were excellent. Also ordered some wonton soup and shrimp spring rolls. Wonton filling was a little fattier than I like, but everything was good. Definitely ordering sushi from here again.“

“This Chinese Northern Eastern style restaurant is generally rated 4.5 stars, and being in Albany bumps it up to 5 stars.Must-try: five-color Chinese salad (五彩大拉皮)Recommendation: fried eggplant with minced pork (肉沫茄子) and the stir-fried taro with sugar coat (翻沙芋头).Food: I've visited twice and tried the five-color Chinese salad, fried eggplant with minced pork, stir-fried taro with sugar coat, stewed baby chicken with Chinese mushrooms (小鸡炖蘑菇), and stewed pork bones with bean sauce (酱大骨). The five color salad is a delightful mix of mung bean noodles, vegetables, and a standout sauce. The "mino" (a traditional Chinese raincoat makes out of straw) eggplant dish showcases the chef's skill, with the eggplant sliced thinly and connected. The sugar-coated taro was surprisingly good, tastier than the candied version. While the stewed pork bones with bean sauce and stewed baby chicken were decent, the pork bones are not leg bones and the chicken portion in the soup was small.Note: They offer a discount for cash payments.Parking: free parking in the plaza parking lot.“

“Mom and I stopped here for lunch and enjoyed lunch specials of hunan chicken as well as garlic chicken and shrimp. Portions were big and the food was good. This is pretty much a takeout joint with only 1 table for dining in. We asked for water while eating in and were given water in Styrofoam bowls. ?“

“I've been coming to them for years! Food is always delicious and crispy. They look like a typical hole in the wall. But they're truly a gem. As it stands they will have our business indefinitely.Kid-friendliness: They're a family run business with their kids helping when they can. They're pleasant people who are very sweet with children who are in their shop.“
“Absolutely love them here! My family will frequently request a visit to the mall food court solely for the purpose of grabbing a delicious meal here! The ladies who are usually at the counter are always super friendly and always greet us with a smile! My son refuses to eat Chinese food anywhere but here and is always his 1st choice!“

“Ken has a great place. Don't judge a book by its cover, the exterior of the place is nothing fancy, but the food and service are wonderful. My 14 year old daughter loves sushi, I brought her here for a lunch date and she was very happy! That's all the review I need! Definitely will be back regularly.“

“I am a very very picky eater for American Chinese and I will say that this place is the best buffet you will get in the capital region. I have tried all the Chinese food and buffets in Albany Troy etc and they ALL SUCK. But this one I give it a 4 for several reason. 1.) the food is a good balance of sweet and savory and if you have a heightened taste like me you will taste a LOT of sugar. If your a calorie counter I hope it’s you’re cheat day. The only inedible too sugary food was the general Tsos. I’ll repeat it again IT HAS A LOT OF SUGAR. The food for cost is worth it and if you want good bang for your buck for this type of Chinese food I highly recommend this place cause if you eat here you won’t regret spending money or even eating the food but you will potentially take a long nap/be hyper from all the sugar in the food. Honestly the only thing I would change is the amount of sugar in the food.Edit: This has become a 4 to a 5. Definitely less sugar.“
