“Stumbled upon this hidden gem in Middletown NY. Small menu, so that makes it easier to decide what to eat. The Korean pancake and radish appetizer were delicious. I had the beef bibimpap, not a huge dish but perfect for me and BF had the bulgogi and enjoyed it. My dinner came with seaweed soup and I loved it. They also have one of the best kimchi I've ever had. Some of the Banchans were just okay, fish cake didn't have much taste and the pickled radish. Service was friendly, you order at the counter and they bring the food to you.“

“We'd driven by quite a few times and decided it was time to give Ray's Place a try. I'm very happy we did. First of all, the owner greets you so warmly upon entering. We were new to this restaurant, yet he treated us like old friends. We both decided to try the cheesesteak sandwiches and we split an order of fries and onion rings. You can easily see how much care he puts in to his menu items. The cheesesteaks are wonderful- the bread is so fresh and delicious! Onion rings are perfectly crispy! Regular sized fries are more than enough for 2 to share. I'm definitely looking forward to trying breakfast items and the soups. You definitely have 2 new loyal customers!!“

“My husband on a whim decided to stop and grab a quick bite while we were on our way to visit family. He came across Empanada Master randomly while doing a quick search. I'm so happy we stopped here. Their Puerto Rican owned, and the empanada's were sp delicious. Fried but not oily, and the filling was savory and delicious. We got beef and cheese and pernil. The pernil was perfect. Soft, tender, and flavorful, and then beef and cheese wasn't greasy or overly salty the way some places over season their ground beef. Absolutely stop and pick these up if you're in the area.“

He always got back to me almost instantly! The food was amazing, and anytime anything ran out there was someone right there to fill it so there was never a time anyone was looking for food. I had the party in their private room, and if there was something that wasn't readily available at that bar, they got it from the upstairs bar that was open to the public with no issue. “We had a last minute party of seven on a weekend. We were seated within 20 minutes and our server John was delightful. Food was excellent as always. I was returning from a trip with my girlfriend from Otsego County and we are both huge fans of "Restaurant Impossible" and wanted to check this place out along our way home to Long Island. It was the Monday after Easter and the restaurant wasn't very busy at all. We both recognized the owner, Franco, immediately. He sat us right away in the beautiful dining area and brought out our entrees. I was very impressed that the owner was waiting on us, and he did an amazing job. Franco couldn't have been more friendly and personable. We asked him about his experience on "Restaurant Impossible" and he was very forthcoming and honest. It was fascinating to hear his side. The food itself was absolutely phenomenal, maybe the best penne garlic and oil with chicken I have ever had. My girlfriend also absolutely loved her meal. The place has an old school Italian restaurant vibe to it and Franco gives it added personality. We will absolutely return on our next trip through Orange County. Keep up the great work, Franco!!“

“It’s very rare I ever give review but take it from me. The environment is very clean compared to the rest in Middletown that are so dirty. The attitude professional and nice people. Food taste way better than others. The give u spoon and sauces. Other places in Middletown 6/10 food wise, they have nasty attitudes charge for everything like even sauce this tiny sauce??. If u want good Chinese food better order from them and they will deliver to you.“

Our go to spot for years now and no matter what the circumstances are ( crowded or as so many businesses are these days , short staffed) the wait and the mild chaos are NOTHING in comparison with the quality of the food and the great feeling of being welcomed each and every time.
