It’s so hard to find a good sheet cake for special occasions. The flavor and texture of the cake was so delicious. We chose a chocolate mouse filling and it exceeded our expectations. If your map is taking you somewhere questionable, Le Pain Quotidien is located at the Roosevelt field mall right next to Neiman Marcus and Vince. There's plenty of parking during brunch time. If you're shopping, you can find them on the first floor near the entrance to the mall between those two stores. Le Pain Quotidien is beautiful inside and clean. There are plenty of seating and different tables to choose from. They have flowers on every table and I think that's quite lovely. You enter, seat yourself. If you're on the go, you can stand in line to order. The staff is very friendly. It can be busy. It took them quite some time to bring out our food. If you've never been there, I suggest taking a look at their menu beforehand. There were a lot of delicious choices so it took us a while to decide on what we want. We ordered the organic mini Dutch pancakes with berries to share, Chicken mozzarella melt tartine with avocado (extra charge), turkey bacon & avocado tartine with an organic egg (extra charge), and a toasted paris ham & Gruyère croissant. For drinks, we ordered apple juice, an americano, and an iced latte. Everything was delicious and full of flavor! I highly recommend the mini Dutch pancakes with berries. It was light and scrumptious! The dishes were quite big so I'm sure you can share. We didn't. We were too busy devouring it. We became very quiet when the food came out. I believe I was breathing in my food.. For those who are watching their calories, their calorie count is pretty low. I had a hard time looking for something that was over 500 calories.. That's why I added the extra side order of organic egg with my meal! I thought it was very helpful to see the calories on the menu next to the dish. It would've been nice if the macros would've been posted but I'm not complaining! I plan on coming here more often to try out the different menu items and to read. I'm not sure what the time limit is to stay there but I guess I'll find out and update this review!“

The entire neighborhood smells delicious from their baking. You walk in and are overwhelmed with the huge variety of delicious looking baked treats. “A million stars! First, let me start by saying that I’ve never been to a bakery that entices you with the most delicious smell upon walking in! The bakery is gorgeous filled with lots of antique fixtures and vintage wallpaper. Everything has beautiful storage and you feel like you’re transported into a different time era. The staff is so nice and so accommodating. The maple scones are excellent! I’ve never had scones in my life that were so soft on the inside and perfection on the outside. They weren’t overtly sweet either which was perfect! The thumbprints are fantastic. The chocolate cookie sandwich was also excellent! If you park a few blocks away, apparently this five-star place, and that just further tempts you to save those dollars for food instead of easier parking. I have never tried this particular cuisine before so this was an easy choice. With a nice small selection that makes it easy to choose, I went for a selection of Haitian Patties and a douce for dessert. So, for $6, I got a meal that filled me plus a dessert munch. I think for the amount you pay to park at UBC, you could buy an entire family dinner here! Now the food.* Patties: They were out of spinach so I had chicken, beef, herring, codfish. The difference in the two fish patties was subtle - I think the codfish is a little "whiter" tasting (in fish terms, less fishy and a little... more like flour?) but I could definitely tell there were two different patties. The chicken and beef were easier to tell apart. All had a unique balance of flavor that made them unmistakably Haitian and a great value. It only took a few minutes to heat up the patties that were made that same day and hand them over, too. So no delay for gameday.* Douce: A unique dessert, it's quite hard and crumbly to bite into, but isn't actually a crunch dessert. It gets a little softer and sticker as you get into it. Something totally outside North American cuisine but totally authentic and again, that unique Haitian flavor to it. I kinda wish I had tried all the flavors of this one too.Atmosphere is just a storefront, no eat-in. Service is very friendly and fast, and you do get a selection of other Haitian and Caribbean foods/drinks, not just the baked goods.
