“I can't give Sans Bakery enough compliments! Their service and care about items shipped is better than anyone I have dealt with past present and probably future.My sister wanted to order a Lamington cakes for my birthday. Brian made sure I was shipped what my sister had ordered; the six individual cakes that are wrapped(I thought it was the cake). However, UPS in their divine wisdom, deemed it necessary to ship them on a scenic tour. They didn't arrive on time for my birthday but that was NO FAULT of the bakery's. I want that to be perfectly clear. I reached out to Brian and while I was disappointed that I wouldn't get them on time he was so kind and empathetic that I couldn't stay upset for long. Again, I thought it was the regular cake and not the individual ones. Brian said he would ship replacements but once I saw they were the individual ones and confirmed they were still fine to eat, I was happy, my sister was happy, all was well. But Brian wasn't having it, he was unhappy that UPS failed us both. Imagine my surprise when a few days later I received another box of the Lamington cakes! I was not expecting that. I was perfectly fine with the outcome but Brian again is an amazing person and he didn't appreciate that this was a representation of his bakery by UPS's failings. So now I have plenty of Lamington cakes and they are freezable so I put a few away so I can enjoy them later.As far as being true Lamington cake like the original in Australia, it took me right back to Adelaide where I had my very first one! Oh my goodness they're so good! And did I mention they're gluten-free?!I cannot thank Brian and Sans Bakery enough for making my Unbirthday amazing and tickling my palette enough that I sent pictures to my cousin in Melbourne Australia taunting her a little. “I ordered a custom cake for a friend. The price of a custom 6-inch cake with 3 flavors, including flavors outside of the general list of selections (oolong cake, egg custard filling, matcha cream top frosting) was $60, which is a great deal considering how customizable the cakes are. You get to choose the type of cake and frosting as well, and the cake is so beautifully decorated (even if you don't have any ideas on what you want it to look like). I sent in a list of different flavors my friend likes, and the trio of flavors was expertly selected from the list. It's a combination of flavors you can't get anywhere else. The cake isn't too dry, and the frosting, filling, and cake mixed well together texture and flavor-wise. The attention to detail is amazing. This might be my go-to custom cake place. My friend bought me an Almond Hojicha Blondie, which was so good, even without it being warmed up. The texture is my favorite part because it's not too soft that it falls apart like a cake, it's not overly sweet and fudgey, and it's not too crispy and messy. It has a good chew to it, and you can taste the tea flavor. The almond complements the hojicha flavor well.“

The Brooklyn Blackout Cake is a Much Better Version of a classic 1940's - 1970’s? Brooklyn cake from now long gone Ebingers Bakery. Their carrot cake is also one of the best I've ever had. The local Union Market chain n Park Slope carry their cakes in their fresh bakery sections because they know their products are consistently of excellent quality. “Vegan baked goods??!! Let's give it a try. Dulce de leche - not too sweet at all, a good nutty flavor. Buttercream is not sweet and the cupcake itself is very moist Oreo - a bit dry on the outside, the buttercream has mashed up oreos in it, which doesn't make it creamy but with a crunchier texture. There isn't much of a chocolate taste. My least favorite Dark chocolate - the cupcake itself is on the dry side and less chocolate taste. The buttercream is smooth and a rich dark chocolate. Carrot cake - very moist and soft. You can see shaved pieces of carrots. I think it needs a pinch more of cinnamon. The cream cheese buttercream on top is on a sweeter side but really creamy. I didn't like the carrot decorations bc it's too much food coloring in it. Overall, I'm a fan of vegan cupcakes as it's not on the sweet side. There is a balanced ration of buttercream to cupcake. The chocolate cupcakes needs to be baked a bit less and need more chocolate taste.“

But have confidence and you will earn your baked reward - and what a reward! We chose the cinnamon buns which were perfection. I should note that this bakery is more of a "buy a loaf of bread or a tray of cakes and take them home" rather than a "grab a singular bun and eat it there and then" place (although the baker kindly prepared a couple of buns from our tray of buns for us to enjoy right away).
