“Great!! As someone who grew up in TX, I’m usually disappointed in Manhattan’s Mexican food options, but this is actually authentic and delicious! The consumé in particular was phenomenal. Only way this could be better is if they also sold horchata or tamarindo aquas frescas?“
“La Casa never fails to amaze me with their incredible cuisine, and my recent visit was no exception. The carne asada dish I ordered was an absolute delight from the first bite to the last. Tender, succulent, and bursting with flavor, each mouthful was a testament to the chef's expertise and dedication to quality ingredients. Not only was the food exceptional, but the ambiance of La Casa added to the overall experience. The warm, inviting atmosphere combined with attentive service made for a memorable dining experience that I won't soon forget. If you're in search of authentic, mouthwatering Mexican cuisine, look no further than La Casa. With dishes like the carne asada showcasing the best of Mexican flavors, it's no wonder this restaurant is a local favorite. I can't wait to return and explore more of their delicious menu offerings.Highly recommended for anyone craving a culinary journey through Mexico's vibrant flavors!“
“The food here is Delicious. Guacamole was Delicious. The Gentleman serving us was wonderful. He saw that my Mom, who has Dementia, was a little confused about how to eat her food, Tacos, and she didn't really like her drink. For her it was too sweet, without asking he gave her water and served her something easier for her to eat. Very, very kind and attentive. Will Definitely return.“
“This place right here is IT!!! The burritos, the tacos, the nachos, the grilled chicken & veggies. It’s incredibly delicious. Burritos are huge and literally & figuratively PACKED with flavor. Hard shell tacos are so yummy. Beware of their chipotle sauce—it’s kickass! This place has great reviews in Zagats too. Pricing is a little high but food is expensive. Parking sucks in this area but I would not pass it up. Dining in is tight but fast service & cute little atmosphere. Other than that, it’s def worth the try & you will go back!!“
“We ordered the food for takeout, and Don Chuys sure did not disappoint. We got a shrimp and beef chimichanga, side of chips and churros for dessert. The chimichangas were a pretty big size, we were able to save half for dinner. The churros were the perfect taste and consistency. All super delicious!! The salsa is homemade as well as the chips. Can’t wait to try other items from their menu.“
“Lovely place for breakfast! There is a lilting Mexican music playing while the host and hostess go about serving their guests, all with a smile. Food is simple but tasty. Priced reasonably, you cannot go wrong ordering any one of their dishes.Tea is served as well as coffee and soft drinks.Nice decent tables and chairs. Good ambience.“
“I have been going to G's for over 20 years. The food is excellent. I love the breakfast burrito with chorizo, and their tortas, and their flautas. Everything thing is outstanding. They make great coffee The service is awesome. Very nice.“
“My boyfriend and I had lunch here and were completely blown away! The food was delicious and fresh, but our favorite part was the exceptional service and hospitality provided by John and Pavel. We will 1000% be back and recommend this place to everyone!!“
“I've been here many times and the service and food quality has been consistent every time! I told my dad to try the Huatulco Enchiladas and he said they were amazing. I finally tried something other than those myself and I thoroughly enjoyed the shrimp Alambre Chilangos! The drinks are always on point and they have a very nice mezcal selection. Ruta Oaxaca never disappoints!“
“Absolutely excellent! This place did not disappoint AT ALL. Having multiple Mexican restaurants very close to their location they stand out for their authenticity to the Mexican flavors. Julio was an excellent host as one of the owners/managers. So happy I had that experience at mayahuel, definitely going back.“
“Came here today for lunch with my husband and it was not only delicious food, but the service was amazing. The women were so kind and the restaurant was beautiful, colorful, and cozy. We ordered the Quesabirria and it was out of this world 10/10 stars! I highly recommend coming to this place for some fresh flavors and for a nice and friendly atmosphere.“
“The Margherita pizza is made with whole diced tomatoes, it's very refreshing and not greasy at all. The pepperoni is generously portioned, and as an end to the day, I feel very satisfied. I'm glad to have such a great pizza place in Astoria.“
“The owner of this restaurant, Victor, is the main star here. I have never met a restaurant owner that has shown such incredible hospitality like Victor has. He is incredible and the main reason we will always come back. The food is outstanding as well. The shrimp enchiladas are my go to every time. The shrimp is always cooked perfectly and cut into small pieces which I love. The sauce on the enchiladas is so flavorful and delicious that I dip my chips in it as well. My boyfriend loves the burrito! He gets it every time as well. The restaurant is cozy and has a rei Mexican authentic feel to it. We're so grateful to have Victor and his amazing restaurant so close to us!“
“I have been in love with this restaurant since they opened. They used to have a truck. The shrimp tacos are to die for. The guac is fresh and tangy. The intrincadas are another fav. Margaritas are just right especially the spicy one. Their homemade hot sauces are the best I’ve ever had! The cajeta buñuelo dessert is so yummy! My fav Mexican restaurant in Queens!“
“Five star for me !!! They never ever disappoint. The quesadilla with shrimp is my go to absolute favorite. Every time I order it's just so good. They are quick to deliver, pleasant on the phone if u have a question and also have great desserts that are not overly priced like other places. Thank u for a Delicious dinner.“
“Can you say “las Catrinas” after a few of these delicious must cocktails , in a gringo acento ?This is and will be an Astoria icon. When the aliens arrive , this will be their first stop , bc the food and drinks its out of this world.GPAR our sever (hard to rsvp as well ) just an amazing person, always smiling always there when you need him , just like Superman!Cheers and thank you guys !“
“Loved the Tacos and cocktails we had here this last taco Tuesday. We loved the vibes at this spot too, fun artwork lines the walls and it’s super cozy!Highly recommend trying the Salmon Dish, the Birria tacos and the Azteca soup — it is perfectly seasoned!“
“I ordered pollo asado Tacos & birria con queso. Everything was fresh and well season. The meats from both tacos you can taste quality & freshness. The guacamole medium hot was perfectly made and chips are fresh and crispy. Place was clean and order was ready in ten minutes. Definitely worth the money & food.“
“It was such a pleasure to meet the owner (Jose from Oaxaca) who takes pride in his 3-year-old taqueria. He gave a sample of poblano rice, black beans and tinga. For lunch, I had the alambre tepito (3 tacos with pork, chicken and beef) and a drink for $14.92. Of the sauces, I prefer the green one (habanero) which is slightly hotter than the red one. I would definitely go back to try their other dishes.“
“This is the best restaurant in whole Westchester, the burrito California, the bistec with onions and the camaronês an la plancha are amazing. Not even my mom can cook so good like that,The place is clean, the environment fantastic, the owner is always over there and comes to the table to talkThanks a lot ?Parking: There are plenty of parking spaces“
“The place was great, as well as the food. Service was good, only downside.. I ordered 2 rounds of Don Julio shots. Each on a separate check and tipped gwnerously. The second round of shots, the bartender (or waiter), poured an extra shot. When delivered to the table, they asked if we wanted the shot. Well, sure...so I thought. The gentlemen explained he had to charge me. I declined. There was no need for another shot as we ordered a round of drinks with our food, as well. Other than that little awkward moment, the place was great. Grilled octopus was good, mac n cheese creamy and cheesy, and tuna tostados, really good. One friend had the muscles, and she raved about them. My other friend had the chilaquiles, and she said it tasted like mom's. Overall, highly recommend. (FRIDA drink shown in photo....delicious!)“
“This is a very underrated truck in the city. One of the best birria spots I've tried in a while. I tried this place on new years, and it was sooo good, I dragged any of my friends that mentioned anything about food that day. I first got the birria torta, which was a heavenly sandwich, and a great deal for 10$. I also went back for a birria quesadilla, which was also really good! The service was quick both times, and I really appreciate them keeping reasonable prices on new years, with 1 dollar waters and 2 dollar sodas! I can't speak too much about the ambiance because I assume this was a temporary location for new years, but I would follow this truck anywhere. No food pics, food was gone way before I ever thought about taking a picture.“
“I had the Torta Cubana, and it was actually pretty good. Even the tortilla chips and salsa that they give you before ordering were delicious, which alone can tell you how good the food can be. I will be back to try other items. Keep up the good work!“
“Recently came here and the burgers are good! It’s the sister store to George’s Deli on 28th and 37th street. But anyways the place is relatively new but it has way more to offer it’s not just a place where you get deli food but now they offer Mexican dishes. On top of that they have a variety of Mexican products! I feel right at home here. Also one of the employees told me they sell specific mexican dishes on the weekends like barbacoa. Definitely recommend you visit!“
“Always have such a good experience when I dine here. The food is incredible. Drinks are tasty and fun. The staff is always so welcoming and lovely. Definitely recommend for a date night or a night out with friends! Oh and the churros are out of this world!“
“I was there for brunch and my experience was amazing. The food is more than 5 stars and the service as well. This restaurant is in the bronx and it matches any restaurant in manhattan, Paris , or London. Great restaurant!! Thank you Tobala team.“
“I discovered this gem via a google search and needed a same day order for 16 people. They open early and when I called they were SO helpful and confirmed they could have the food ready later that day. The food was neatly packaged and hot when picked up. The group loved everything - burritos; tacos; quesadillas; guacamole; and pico de gallo. Food was authentic and delicious - highly recommend!!!“
“Super tasty and friendly people working here. It’s for takeaway only and I arrived on a busy night so there were a few orders ahead of me and just one Mama cooking and another person working. But each order seems to be made with love and attention. I will probably order ahead next time and pickup.“
“I came here with a friend and we were both amazed by the decór (Dia de los Muertos theme) that they had set up in the restaurant. She pointed out all the small details of each skeleton and the different coloured iguanas on the wall. We shared laughs and had an overall good time ! ?Great space for sitting down for either casual or intimate conversation -- The waitress was eager on whatever was needed, and as well as a passionate chef that adds the needed character in the kitchen. It's safe to say that this is a restaurant worth visiting or making those evening taco runs in which they were tasty & robustly flavourful ?.“
“I ordered two beef steak quesadillas with the flour taco and those were absolutely fantastic!! Tender bits of steak, and a green chile sauce and a red hot sauce served in small plastic cups to pour all over these heavenly dishes! Enter the Tacos; I want you guys to know that you cannot order just ONE taco, they need to be ordered two at a time. So if you want just ONE taco they won't sell it to you! I ordered two chicken tacos and two steak (carnitas) tacos WITHOUT CILANTRO ! I'm allergic to cilantro. They did a great job of cleaning the stove top before they prepared and heated my food order. Also I told them my wife is allergic to pork, (she's Muslim & it's just easier to tell chefs at these type of establishments that my wife has "allergies" to any pork products. The Tacos were good. Not amazing, but satisfying. I then ordered the chicken fingers which came with a HUGE portion of hot, steamy, French fries! The fries were fried to perfection and the potato flavor was not overpowered by the oil it was fried in. The fries were pretty much perfection. The chicken fingers were square pieces of fried chicken covered in a dark brown bread crumb with some green herbs in the bread crumbs that I could not identify. I didn't like the chicken fingers. They were not what I was expecting. The breading was not tasty and there were short and stubby cuts of flat chicken. I didn't like the looks or the taste. All of this came out to 41$ and some change. I thought overall the food, minus the chicken fingers was fresh- well prepared - and appetizing. The price is a little steep for my pockets. So I probably wouldn't be going here all the time because of pricing alone. Overall the place is very clean and the food appears to be fresh and delicious; but skip the chicken fingers.... Buon Provecho! Buon Appetito!“
“Went for brunch with my sister and future Brother in law. Service was great as well as all the decor. The food was flavorful and fresh. The portions were generous. Definitely try their homemade/house made hot sauce it is wonderful. As I said we went for brunch but will definitely come back to try their normal menu.“
“Small, cozy atmosphere with yummy food and drinks. Guacamole was fresh, chips crisp. Chuleta al pastor amazing with its pineapple jam, moro and shaved brussel sprouts salad. The corn was yummy. I expected the maple maduros to be sweeter because of the maple but they were regular maduros which was still perfectly fine. Tamarind margarita and mezcal drink were perfect. I will definitely recommend and be back.“
“Awesome place!! We loved the ceviche and the server gave us a great recommendation for quaesedillas. The dishes were slightly expensive, but they were very big and just about every dish was big enough for multiple people. The pork meat was a little bit dry but everything else was amazing. The service was super fast and the waiters were very polite, and the music and decorations were amazing. Also, the plantains were AMAZING. This place was awesome, and I would definitely recommend!!“
“This is my first Yelp review ever but this modest little restaurant deserves it. Not only is the food surprisingly delicious but the owners and staff are warm, welcoming and generous. They always offer something while waiting for take out and when eating in they take the time to talk to you and make you feel part of things. They even remember me from one visit to another which is something I never experienced before. I fully recommend. Everything is good but we particularly love the Burria tacos only served on weekends as well as the specials they offer which are always .. well... special!“
“Nachos are DELICIOUS!! Food in general was very good and portions are abundant. Also they are generous with the grated cheese in top and I challenge anyone to find something wrong with that! Highly recommend. I'll come back again. And again. And again.“

“when you enter the interior is kind of odd with one table inside along with a few window seats (two tables outside) but don’t let that turn you away. the food was fresh & tasty.I ordered the Chilaquiles & the grilled chicken caesar wrap. the Chilaquiles had a wonderful green sauce & lots of yummy cheese. the caesar wrap was jam packed with fresh crunchy lettuce, avocado, caesar dressing, & grilled chicken.(side note, the fries were delicious too! thin, crispy, & seasoned well!)it’s a small business folks…food takes time. this isn’t fast food mediocrity!the service was great & attentive. it’s a solid choice! Will come again :)“
“Best spot in the neighborhood for delicious, authentic Mexican food! A small storefront with a mighty team - the wonderful woman who usually works the front (Maria) is very friendly and helpful! The food is always made quickly, and always tastes amazing! Gracias, Trocitos De Mexico for being my favorite go-to neighborhood fix! ❤️“
“Hidden gem! I got the carne asada torta and it was poetry in food form. Perfect subtle layers of cheese and beans, with avocado ? that added depth, fresh chipotle peppers with sauce, and we watched the meat and all the warm ingredients like fries get cooked right in front of us!“
“Nice local owned restaurant serving Mexican and Peruvian cuisine. The server was very sweet and friendly. Definitely try their local inca drinks. Mine was made with Passion fruit. It was so refreshing and good. Loved their ceviche had a great kick of spice and lemon to it. Also the salted steak was very good too. Portions were large so i wrapped half of my meal to take home.“
“Very cute place that I randomly stumbled upon while in little Italy, Arthur Avenue searching for somewhere to have lunch. They served Authentic Mexican juices like horchatas and Jamaica. As well as different Mexican dishes and ramen. The server who was also the owners son was really nice. I enjoyed the food. The place was very vibrant and welcoming.“
“Honestly this place is officially in my top 3.I went on a Monday night, wasn’t aware they had happy hour so that was definitely a plus. The corn ribs were delicious!! For our meals I ordered tacos, tried one chicken taco, shrimp & birria. They all have a little spice to it, but they were all good. The margaritas were also great, specifically passion fruit. My date had half a chicken entree and also enjoyed their meal. Service was really good, and I will definitely go back“
“Was visiting from Miami and had the pleasure of having Eddie take care of me. He made sure to take note of my food allergies, and recommended some amazing drinks. He also gave me tons of great recommendations of what to do while here on vacation. Thank you for everything!“
“1st of all, I recommend just walking in to view this place. They have decorations everywhere, and it works. They maximized the space to have a decent amount of seating plus tables, indoors and outdoors. Yes, they have a rear outdoor patio. The staff was very polite, greeting us as we entered and when exiting. I opted for the Salmon Ceviche on the menu as Tiradito de Salmon, which was very tasty, I definitely recommend it. Since the serving sizes were smaller fine dining portions, I ordered the hard shell fish taco, Tacos Dorados, which were decent, but the Ceviche was much better.“
“I love this spot. You can see them throw the meats on the grill from the pot they are marinating it in. The quality is great and big portions. Highly suggest! I need to stop JUST getting burritos but they are so much better than any other place nearby.“
“Visiting family in Westchester from Los Angeles - Molcajete definitely passed the bar. The shrimp was big, juicy and fresh, the steak (we got the Molcajete, so it came with everything) was a nice cut and well cooked. Salsas were all super tasty and the guac was legit. Only slight LA pickiness is that it was missing the nopal.“
“This place is so underrated! Incredible service and a beautiful atmosphere. They make the guac right in the center of the dining room. The portions are perfect and you'll walk away feeling perfectly full. We've been needing a good Mexican spot in the area for a while!“
“Yummy Tamales!!I had the Adobo tamal and Raja Pollo tamal. I also had champurrado, but I would not recommend it because it taste like straight up flour and water with a pinch of chocolate in which you do not taste (please improve the recipe). I say this with much love ?“
“I ate here yesterday September 23rd, 2023 between 10:30pm 11:15pmSo I need to address the ELEPHANT in the room…..Was I served JOLLOF RICE?!! Because when I had seen my plate come out the kitchen… I won’t lie i literally thought it was JOLLOF RICE… but after tasting it, I immediately knew it wasn’t. But LET IT BE KNOWN SAN JOSE’s RICE AND BEANS WAS PHENOMENAL! Perfectly cooked fluffy rice; beans was cooked amazingly! My chips and salsa tasted fresh and homemade so that was enjoyable! Now for the MAIN EVENT….After a long day of mailman business and dropping off supplies at my family’s spot. I was craving A WRAP OR SOMETHING SIMILAR WITH EXTRA CONDIMENTS(y’all know how I do). So I had to dig deep and remember I’ve eaten at this establishment before but never reviewed this place yet.I ordered the chicken and chorizo quesadilla (homemade corn tortilla)… FLAWLESS. The chicken was seasoned well balanced. Chorizo didn’t taste like it was cheap packaged meat. Everything to my point of view was fresh and good quality. But I must say I’d wish the ratio of bread to meat. I would of preferred a bit more meat…but there is an option for that. Bathroom was decent.. overall the night was ended beautifully with a live performance from some local artist who was singing karaoke which was also beautiful. Yeah I was mostly paying attention to my late dinner but anyway. It was goood. It’s all good. The staff were good. Food high quality made to order. Please support the locals !Dietary restrictions: You have lots of alternatives.Kid-friendliness: Just make sure you order for the kid. But it is family friendly.“
“Best experience on 11/5/23 at 6:44pm. The (lady) manager on site was great. I waited for the sneak because the sneak was finished. But the manager came back after the sneak was ready and took my order with a smile and gave it to me for free.“
