“Came to L'incontro for a casual lunch on a Saturday around 2p. Did not have a reservation and was immediately seated. I gotta say, the service was excellent! Many waiters were serving us and they were constantly checking if we needed something. They were refilling out waters all the time and it was just very polite. What was interesting is the "daily special menu", the waiter was standing their reading about the daily special for like at least 5 mins and we had to stop him from continuing. Either way, we got the bucatini cacio e pepe and it was very yummy. My husband got the veal and it was not the most photogenic dish, but tasted much better than it looked. We also got the octopus, which was soaked in balsamic, also very nice. Overall a very nice traditional Italian place.“
“I hosted 25 people here, in the back patio, and Avoca was fantastic. So accommodating, allowed everyone to have separate tabs, got the heaters out, and lent us speakers (it was a trivia night). The food and drinks are excellent (get the truffle fries and the Smokey Oaxaca cocktail!), and the service truly could not have been better. The vibe inside is swanky but chill, cozy and also a little fancy, not like a pub. Avoca is definitely one of my fave UES bars and restaurants.“

When I sat down, I was greeted right away and provided with the menus. Chu Ros offers many different food options and cocktails & they have an amazing happy hour. “Since moving to the area, Nana's is one place that is consistently fantastic and everyone I bring here raves about it. Simple, yes, but freshly made, flavorful, and healthy isn't always easy to find when you're trying to grab a quick bite.I think the way the menu is laid out is a bit confusing if you've never been. Once you understand how to navigate that, it's smooth sailing.My regular order is the Mu'shwarma, pita or platter depending on how I feel that day. I am pescatarian and love that they don't use artificial fake meat, but this dish is just really well flavored mushrooms. Their platters are great because you can choose so many sides, and they REALLY stuff their pitas, so I think either one works, depending on what mood I'm in. If you get the platter, you can choose pita or pita chips on the side. Their pita chips are fresh and the best I've ever tasted. I'm not usually a drink gal, but I love their Limonana so I do order it quite frequently. Very refreshing and made with all fresh ingredients. Not overly sugary or anything. I've tried a bunch of their salads/salatim and they are all amazing, but the Babaganoush is a MUST. I'm not always a fan of the dish because of the texture but theirs is the best I've ever had. So flavorful and fantastic. Any of the spicy salads (spicy tomato) are actually quite spicy, so be aware. There isn't so much of an ambiance here as there's 1-2 tight tables and it's definitely more of a to go place, although I have dined in and eaten outside when weather permits. There is no table service. The prices are definitely on the higher side, but I can often stretch one of their meals to 2 and the ingredients are so fresh and so delicious, so it is worth the price. Don't expect any $7 street cart pitas here though! I've taken my parents and several friends and everyone that has been has only raved about how fresh and delicious it is, so it's a must go to and a neighborhood staple for me.“

The staff was very polite, greeting us as we entered and when exiting. I opted for the Salmon Ceviche on the menu as Tiradito de Salmon, which was very tasty, I definitely recommend it. Since the serving sizes were smaller fine dining portions, I ordered the hard shell fish taco, Tacos Dorados, which were decent, but the Ceviche was much better.“

The service was quick and everything was very tasty. I ordered the panino al Crudo and the focaccia was crunchy yet soft, nicely toasted. There did it right here. I tried one of there Burger doubles with all the fixings. Its was outstanding. The burger was moist, juicy and full of flavor. Decent size and priced right. A meal form two will run you about $20 to $25 dollars. Not bad in todays ridiculous prices. The location was clean and the staff was responsive. The bathrooms were rather clean and functional. The is a school near by and the location was full with teens enjoying frozen yogurts and milkshakes. I had nom issues what so ever. What won me over was the taste of the food. Excellent I will say. If you are in the Riverdale area like I was, I highly recommend this burger spot and try their double cheese burger with cheese. You will not be disappointed any all. Trust me.“

The bagels themselves are delicious, and they're generous w the cream cheese (but the cream cheese itself is nice and light so it doesn't feel overwhelming). They're also super efficient and very quick, which is nice. I asked what the eggs / meat were cooked in because I don't eat sunflower / canola oil (and honestly, think seed oils are generally pretty bad for you) - and they offered to cook my eggs / sausage in butter, which was so wonderful!!!!! It's also a nice, bustling shop - feels like a real neighborhood stop. Would recommend to everyone - it's worth the trek to UES!“

The bay window seats allow you to relax, sip a hot drink, nibble on a scone, while people watching on the main street of this historic town from a somewhat vantage point (the shop is a few steps up from street level).“
