Sent family to HFC because unfortunately I couldn't join them and I've heard wonderful things throughout the years. I'm in hospitality myself and I wouldn't send anyone to a place I didn't properly vet first. My family had a wonderful time and were absolutely floored by the service ! Glad to know my industry folk were looking out :)
We were 3 women celebrating a birthday. I indicated that on my reservation. We were greeted warmly and our coats were taken. We were led to a table in a great location. There was a personal hand-written card to the birthday person which was lovely. The ambience of the bar and room has an air of sophistication which is very welcome in a NY restaurant. I went to celebrate my wedding anniversary and they treated my wife and I like royalty. However I was underwhelmed with the food, personally. The lobster bisque had an abundance of fresh lobster, but it didn't have the flavor I was craving in a bisque. The same went for the scallops, which sounded very good but didn't quite meet my expectations. Overall, this is a great restaurant for it's proximity to Broadway, but the food left something to be desired.
