Fairport Brewing Company and Meadery Brewery • $$
1044 University Ave, Rochester

“We hosted our daughter's first birthday party here. The venue was very spacious with plenty of room to hang and put out decorations. The bar is very large with a great space to place food and have it out of the way of the main area where guests can order drinks. Games available for guests of all ages to play, as well as TV's for sports lovers. There were multiple comments of how great the venue was and plans to host other family events there in the future. The staff were friendly and accommodating, enjoyed having them handle our party. We will definitely host future events there!“

Strangebird Brewery • $$
62 Marshall St, Rochester

“Strangebird is a beautiful space and was bursting with energy when I stopped in for dinner. The decor reminded me of NYC or San Francisco, inspired design. The beers on tap are not your ordinary IPAs although they have a few of those. Sours, Belgians, and other interesting brews. I took home Mount Hope which is a lager with Pinot Noir grapes. I enjoyed the beers I tried, it pays to experiment. The food for me was decent, I opted for the smash-burger, which was serviceable, but the pizza looks like a good option. I would return to Strangebird. Outstanding service at the bar.“

Fifth Frame Brewing Co. Coffee Roasteries • $$

“Amazing beer! Great fried pickles! Wonderful and engaging customer service! My only regret is the we couldn't bring back beer for the amazing chef because they were out of it (she'll know what I'm talking about and hopefully forgive us because we can't wait to come back for more delicious beer and the best chicken noodle soup with biscuits we've ever tasted!). Great taproot with amazing beer, food, and staff! Can't wait to come back!“

Nine Spot Brewing Brewery • $$
190 Monroe Ave, Rochester

“Ok- I'm a beer snob, so I'm fine with the food options, they looked fine and tasted fine. The space is also wonderful- comfy booths, tables, bar stools. There is also a small 'private' room, on one visit there was what looked like an office party happening. Ok now the important part.,. THE BEER! Fantastic! Again, as a snob I can easily roll my eyes, plug my nose and run from a place. But at 9-Spot I want to set up a home. The brewer here knows what they are doing and they do it very well. From porters to lagers and pils and IPAs they are all well crafted. They also partner with places and create joint efforts and the carry brews from other breweries. Don't delay- go now - no matter what time of day.“

Heroes Brewing Company Brewery • $$
543 Atlantic Ave, Rochester

“Don't judge a book by it's cover. Hero's Brewing is a tribute to local hero's. non-profits or other charitable causes. The décor matches the name. There is a long bar, tables and a relaxing area with sofa's by the fire place. Pets are welcome as well. From the outside (not knowing the area), it seemed a little sketchy (saw a lot of cameras on poles, stickers all over (from the music venue next door etc.). But make no mistake, when you walk in Hero's is really nice inside. We saw that they had popcorn on other reviews, but when we went, they said they did not have it (bummer). They do carry a nice variety of beers and also had some wines (canned) from a Finger Lakes Winery (Zugibe). However the sparkling wine lacked bubbles as the date on the bottom of the can was pushing almost 2 years. But I was there for the beer (as are most folks). But they really should check to keep fresh stock.“

The Richmond by Mortalis Brewing Bar & Grill • $
21 Richmond St, Rochester

“Gluten free pizza and mocktails! What a fun place for food and drinks! They have a wood oven they make all their pizzas in, minus the gluten free.Gluten free is prepared and cooked separately to reduce cross contamination. Be prepared to wait +20 minutes for a gf pizza.I ordered the pizza special on the gluten free crust. Not bad! It’s a bit thicker (not full Detroit but not NYC thin). Overall, not bad. I would order it again, but this wouldn’t be my first choice for a GF pizza. The crust fine, a little dense and premade. They have a couple of fun mocktail options that aren’t some overpriced lemonade junk. I would recommend going for the atmosphere and drinks (alcoholic or not). I’m excited to see what else I can try on the menu. The staff are so friendly and helpful! All my questions were answered and it was so fun watching everyone cook at the pizza oven!Street parking only.“

“No matter the season, always a great atmosphere either inside or outside. Had Sunday "brunch" with a couple of pints. The salty breakfast pizza was perfect for two. The beer cheese adds great flavor to it. IBC is becoming one of my favorite venues!“

Rising Storm Brewing Company at The Mill Brewery •
1880 Blossom Rd, Rochester

“Stopped in for lunch. We had the roni stark pizza and the Superfly sandwich. And a few flights of beer.Pizza was delicious. The roni stark pizza has honey. The honey was pronounced, but paired well with the spiciness of the pepperoni. The Superfly was excellent. The braised beef was so tender and the onion confit and Verde added layers of flavor. We had 4 beers in the flight. Amber lager was flavorful and thank God not hoppy. The scotch ale wasn't over the top strong, very drinkable.Finished with the vanilla porter and hot Mexican chocolate stout. Just a little heat in the hot Mexican stout nothing too crazy. The location is nice, with views of the park and brook. No table service, you have to go up to the bar and food counter to order and bring back to your table.Rising storm is worth a check.“

Three Heads Brewing Brewery • $$
186 Atlantic Ave, Rochester

“First time here on NYE and it was awesome. Really cool atmosphere. Yummy draft beers and drinks.Only complaint is there could of been more indoor seating but they had a ton of people in there. It was fun. Food truck had really good pizzas. I will definitely go back sometime and try more of the IPAs. Beer flight and food across the street looked good but it was closed that night. Plenty of outdoor seating which is awesome but not when it's snowing so I definitely recommend this place in the summertime. I bet it's awesome. Really chill place. I like it.“

Blue Toad Hard Cider NY Brewery • $

“Great selection of ciders (and even a few beers), inviting ambiance and next level service. They have a awesome rotation of seasonal flavors so there's always something new ro try. They often have random food items ordered for patrons and also offer giant pretzels, nachos, and popcorn regularly. The flights are six 6oz pours, so be careful if you're a lightweight, haha! The seasonal waterlemon cider was amazing!“

“Went here on a whim the day of the eclipse.Since it was so cloudy we were looking for distraction and heard the beautiful sound of Leecy & Greg's live music. Wow! We decided to stay for dinner and drinks and to watch the darkness of the totality from the beer garten. Service was amazing not even taking into account the size of the crowd. Our food was so delish and the apricot cider and the Ruby Red Kolsch, which we ended up getting a 12 pack to take home with us, were ?‍??If I'm ever in Rochester again I'll be hitting up this gem on the Genesee River by the falls!Dietary restrictions: They have a helpful section on their online menu that shows the dietary restrictions of each dish if any.“

Genesee Beer & Ale Brewery • $$

“What a great can. So simple. So apealing. What a great date.. 1878. A very nice logo. Red and white. This is what dad used to drink. Lotta nostalgia here. Gotta find some Genesee gear. Hopefully with a reference to the 1878 year. I have a little time. So I share this rhyme. Drink it in a box. Drink it with a fox. Drink it at your house share it with a mouse... Or your spouse.... Genesee I am.“

Iron Tug Brewing Brewery • $$

“Stopped after the 2023 St. Patricks parade with friends from the area. Super cool little place with a great selection of beers to try. We had flights, pints, and great conversations hanging out at Iron Tug. Staff was excellent and attentive. Good crowd from parade traffic, but still comfortable and could hear each other talk. While touring breweries in the area, definitely add this stop.“

K2 Brothers Brewing Brewery • $$
1221 Empire Blvd, Rochester

“K2 is one of our favorite breweries in Rochester! We've never had a bad meal here, whether it's the K2 Burger, Burrito or Shawarma Wrap, they're all great and the fries are delicious! The beer is even better though! It's hard not to get a flight every time we come here because there are too many awesome options to choose from. Their sours are the best but don't sleep on the jalapeno cream ale, which is underrated! They have live music occasionally and corn hole leagues during the summer as well. K2 is outstanding and highly recommended!“
