“I ordered the porchetta sandwich. It looked better than it tasted. The ciabatta was not a true ciabatta and did not go with the sandwich. The porchetta was just crisped up pork belly and was skimpy on the portion considering the price of the sandwich. The waitress said I can substitute the fries for any of the sides but didn't state there would be an upcharge. There was tiny fine print under the sandwiches that says they'll be an upcharge but it's very easy to overlook. I opted for the warm cabbage side which was very tasty and would order again.My friend ordered the beet salad and that looked amazing. I'd suggest trying that and if I go again I'll order that instead.Lastly, the water glass had lipstick on it. I wasn't wearing any. When I asked for a fresh and clean water glass, there was no acknowledgement about the lipstick, even after I pointed it out. That was unprofessional, in my opinion as a former waitress and bartender.Overall, will I go back? Eventually, yes but it's towards the bottom of the list of things to do.“

“I went there 4 times already and I must say that for a recent new comer to the US, this place is a hidden gem. Great craft beer selection and Evan (the owner) is a pretty awesome dude. I am a punk rock sound mixer and filmmaker from Lisbon, Portugal that has been touring the world since 1996 and I really thought that now living in corky expensive Westchester that it would be rare to feel and get in touch with “real scrappy people”, I guess I was wrong so thank you Growlers for having me, much appreciated. “Last week, my wife and I had the pleasure of dining at Il Villagio. The restaurant was highly recomended to us by my wife's coworker. We were greeted warmly and sat promptly. We had a 6:30 reservation. The service from start to finish was warm, friendly and professional. We started with a crisp tender fried calamari and the roasted beet salad. So many times calamari is a hit or miss. This was an excellent version. The beet salad was tender, earthy and sweet. The crunchy pistacios and orange vinaigrette were a nice touch. My wife ordered Chicken Millanese and I ordered Gnocchi Bolognese. Both were excellent. The chicken was crisp and tender. The arrugula was peppery with a drizzle of lemon and virgin olive oil. Great balance. The Gnocchi was a great choice as there was a chill in the air. My definition of comfort food. Recently I have notice some resturants are going with a cheaper grated cheese, not Il Villagio. The Peccorino was perfectly salty and sharp. During our meal several people came over to check on us including the owner. I told he should be very proud of his staff. This restaurant is doing a great job. The provide quality service, excellent food and a warm friendly staff. It was a 25-30 drive for us. A drive I will be doing again real soon. Thank you to all“

“Came here on a whim with a large group (19 of us) after we had dinner up the street. They were super accommodating even though they were very busy. Service and drinks were great, we really enjoyed ourselves! We’ve been here several times before and the service and drinks are always top notch. Can’t wait to go back for a date night with my husband soon!“

“Situated in an old ammunition depot, the recently renovated first class, or "firstie", club has a much more exclusive and bespoke feeling than the days of yore. Gone are the sticky floors, the dripping roof from the back room, the broken foosball tables, the jukebox that seemed to host only various versions of the song, "Wagon Wheel", or the bartenders that would serve you a pitcher of Jack and a pitcher of Coke on a Thursday just because you asked for it. taco Tuesday and wing Wednesday are pretty popular, as is Thursday evening following spirit dinner when the place is packed with the sons and daughters of slum and gravy. Extensive selection of beer on tap, and the menu is generally very good. Their version of a clucking Russian is as good and attempt at re-creating perfection as I have seen. Worth a visit.“

“Char is a great place to eat. Incredible attention to detail, service is great even at a busy time. Great cocktails - Fizzy Peach! Not in the menu any more but they’ll still make it. You’ll see the man who runs the place everywhere shaping everything that’s happening all the time. Runs a tight ship but staffed properly so they have the time to do a good job. Men’s room is in perfect condition always - looks and smells new. You know that if that is so right then all the things you can’t see must be perfect too.“

“The food was great. I ordered the pork chop with spinach and roasted potatoes. The food came out hot just the way I like it. My friend ordered the chicken Mona Lisa. I tried my Friends entree and I will say what I tried was fabulous. I love Norca the bartender and she gives wonderful service. Norca makes you feel like you don't want to leave, she is very welcoming and warm. I like to visit this restaurant when Norca is working. When Norca doesn't work I don't show up and neither does my friends. Very nice decor comfortable atmosphere great vibes all the way around. The pizza is also great too. If you're in the mountains kisco area. Happy eating and Happy dining“

“The new owners are basically doing their best to try to create a little music venue on the weekends. Jungle Love was on tonight and the place was hopping. We've eaten here a couple of times in the food's been good. I was a little disappointed in the chicken scarp as the potatoes were cold in the middle was kind of strange. Otherwise everything there is excellent“

“I took my daughters there for a 7 year old birthday party. It was cool for the kids, and the pizza was good. I would have liked some more game options, especially since they have a sports bar section for adults. They also have an axe throwing setup as well. Part of this place is under renovation. I would definitely go back for an adult night out after renovations are complete. Looks like it may be even more fun.“

“Hubby and I came here to meet our friend for brunch. It's a spacious, cozy, pleasant cafe with enough room for small and big groups. Alexa was our server. She's fast and attentive. Good! We'll eat slowly. We ordered mussels for appetizer. Then I had a wild fish taco, Hubby had a Village burger, and our friend had a duck quesadilla; I am not kidding; it's a duck quesadilla! Of course, I had my hot green tea! I love my hot tea during brunch or lunch. The mussel was phenomenal! The food was exceptional! We loved everything that we ordered. The homemade creamy sauce that they used on top of my taco was fantastic. I don't usually like creamy sauce or anything with my food, but I definitely enjoyed this one. “A cool local bar. our waiter/bartender was so sweet ? wish I could remember her name. We had mozzarella sticks, dirty tater tots, and teriyaki garlic wings. Portions were big ! Flavor on point. We had Jack and cokes that were perfect ! May not look like anything when you walk in, but don't judge a book by its cover! I almost did, and I'm glad I didn't. The tables had all New york sports teams. Sorry, I missed that because I would have picked the Knicks one, lol. Thank you for a great time and great bar food.“

“Everything was great, but I would recommend the place knock down the smell of their floor cleaner. I found it overwhelming throughout the place. Some people like me are sensitive to chemical scents and it conflicts with the aroma of the food and drink.“

I was last here about 20 years ago but to be honest, like most, I have zero reason to ever be in Verplanck. This evening I was down there and made the immediate decision to dine-in the second I saw their big sign on Broadway. The place looks basically the same as I remember, very neat, clean and of course with a stellar menu. I observed Carmine (at the bar) preparing some amazing looking cocktails! Great service, well priced, friendly staff and great dishes! One thing I want to point out is how the first forkful of my cold antipasto salad appetizer immediately tasted soooo different. I wasn't expecting fresh, 'sharp' provolone -- no sliced ham here kids. Tonight was an unexpected treat! I will again grab my passport and cross the border into Westchester to spend more time here! “Great dive bar that I stopped at spontaneously after walking around Peekskill. Ordered the French Onion soup and a cheeseburger with fries. Food was great (although I prefer swiss cheese on my F.O.S. and not provolone) and the bartender was very nice, too. It was fun chatting with her. The place was empty (for lunch anyway) but I didn't mind as I don't like crowds. It was me and another guy at the bar. He was annoying but she handled him well. I'm guessing this is more of a nighttime hangout, but I definitely liked the vibe here.“
