“This place is great. It’s like a log cabin and has lots of Abe Lincoln memorabilia on the walls. It’s no frills but that’s the best part. You read the paper menu and then go to the register and order and pay. The guy taking your order will bring your food to you. We have never been here but we learned the guy who took our orders name was Tom and he was a great guy.The food came out fast and was everything you want in a diner. This place doesn’t overload the grill with butter like some diners and I appreciate that. This place is cash only and they have an ATM if you didn’t know that. You have to have great food to do business this way. This helps them keep the prices lower than a lot of places around.I ordered the steak and eggs. And if you look at the picture and think they didn’t cook my steak just know I always ask for my steak “as rare as you will cook it” and to me this was perfect. Thanks Tom for not being afraid to do it as I say.Everything else was great and the home fries have good flavor and are cooked through if you’re a home fries eater you’ll know what that means.Excellent place you will not be disappointed if this is the style of place you dig.”
“Fabulous St. Paddy's weekend Irish lunch. Corned beef and cabbage of course. It was delicious. My granddaughter enjoyed the bangers and mash and my wife had the Reuben. Everyone was happy with their meal.”
“My second dining experience at Bad Apples BistroIt was Ginny's birthday and she chose the place. It was her third time dining there. There is no full bar service -only beer and wine are available. We both had interesting salads. My $14 Vegan Capri salad was tasty but a bit pricey. Ginny's Beet and Apple salad at $9 was a relative bargain and should be touted as a Bistro signature salad. My $17 Fish Fry was a relative bargain. The Haddock was encased in a crisp crunchy coating reminiscent of pre-breaded frozen fish that seemed oven-baked. The shoestring-cut Sweet Potato fries were an over-salted side. The Green Apple Slaw was interesting.Ginny's $42 center-cut 8oz. Filet Mignon served with roasted garlic mashed potatoes and charred asparagus, finished with Cabernet demi was good with one exception -It was way over-salted!Along with our meals, Ginny had a $10 glass of wine, and I had an $8 The Kind India Pale Ale from Three Heads Brewery.Ginny chose to sit on a bench-style seat that lined the west wall of the dining area. I sat opposite her on a spartan steel-legged padded chair. There was a tiny table between us. Overall the indoor dining facility is tiny and spartan. When we arrived at 4 pm we had the place to ourselves and it remained so through the course of our dining experience. Still, there was a somewhat disturbing level of commotion from the proprietors and what seemed like their immediate family. When we were seated I mentioned to our server that it was Ginny's Birthday. At the end of the meal, our server pleasantly surprised us by comping Ginny with a serving of Chocolate Lava cake that had a scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream with a candle on top.The total bill with tax and tip was $122”
“I called in my order and the man on the phone taking my order seemed like I was putting him out calling my order in! We ordered a large pizza, light sauce, 1/2 pepperoni, 1/2 plain cheese. When we get there, there is a sign on the register 'Cash Only'. Now, I thought why did this grown man taking my order not tell me on the phone. A surprising coincidence they have an ATM in the store. Are they getting a cut of the ATM surcharge? Luckily I had enough cash. The pizza was flat and looked like old dough was used. The crust took up about 2 inches of the pizza, then about 1 inch of just dried red sauce. With a light sprinkle of cheese in the center. Only a few pepperonis were on half. Across the street behind the firehouse is the best pizza Rochester has had since Bay and Goodman pizza... Perri's. So- pass by Pizza Shack and go directly to Perri's!”
“Such a cute coffee shop. The have the best chai around and it's my go to everytime. The workers are so sweet and the owners are so kind. Bummed I didn't start coming here sooner. Way better quality than Dunkin or Starbucks.”
“They have the BEST plates around. Hands down!! The Mac salad and hot sauce are top tier. The burgers are a good quality too. There is so much to choose from so I really like the variety of the menu. This place is such a gem. I love the atmosphere too, from the moment you walk in this place is so welcoming and the workers are so nice. Very clean too.”
“I went there for dinner while visiting my daughter in spencerport. I made a reservation with a Google Assistant. It's a small space and looked very busy, understandably since their food was very good. We started with bruschetta, and it had a wonderful balsamic tang. My daughter ordered chicken Cesar salad, while i got mushroom ravioli, which was to die for! It also came with salad and garlic bread with seasoned oil. The staff was wonderful, very friendly.Parking: The parking lot is on the back of the restaurant. There's no parking or standing on main st”
“WOW... 1st time going, won't be the last.. I had a specially (Alyssa) sub.. so pleasantly surprised at how good it was.. and the toasted bread was phenomenal.. as with anything made fresh.. 15 mins wait for the sub n it was a little pricey, but worth it... yes, I'll be back when the opportunity is there..”
“Stopped in last night to check the place out after an event next door and ordered myself some cream soda in a growler. First off it was great they stayed open a little past close to accomodate us. Lemme say I drank half the growler when I got home it was incredible. It wasnt heavy and over sugary and was very smooth. My only critique is that maybe it could be slightly more creamy tasting. My friend tried a couple flights and said he enjoyed them as well. Definetly some interesting brews on tap but since I dont drink much I didnt try any of them. They could use a small prep area for basic foods like sandwiches and maybe a grill for summer which may be difficult due to the setup they got but would be a fantastic addition to the brewery. Definetly will be back to refill my growler in the future with some more NA options as they did have a nice sounding ginger ale as well. If you guys make orange cream soda ever I will buy you out of that!!!”
“We absolutely love coming to Brindle Haus every time we're in town visiting family! They have a combo of standards (German pilsner, Brindle IPA, etc) and unique flavors that we love to try (personal favorite is their Key Lime Pie Sour). Moose is the best bartender, and the dogs are an added plus ?”
“Perri's has consistently great wings! I'm picky about my wings and I'm always happy with them. They also offer oversized single slices of pizza which is perfect for my son who only likes cheese pizza. Our favorite by far is the fried dough!”
“Excellent Chinese food and prices. They make sure to call you whenever your food is ready! Not really meant to be a dine- in place. I really like their general pso chicken. Their lo mein is excellent. Great portion sizes for the price.”
“The cute little diner scene that you're looking for! Excellent food and service. I love the French dip, and my fiance loves the Union burger! They know how to temp their meat, and they always have great specials! The prices are totally reasonable too. It's a perfect place for a quick meal.”
“Had a turkey panini which tasted good but was just a little dry. There was very little cheese on the sandwich and it had not been melted. It could have used a little more of the basil pesto also. With the large amount of bread and lack of cheese and sauce, it was a bit dry. The fries were excellent!”
“I've been to Johnny D's twice. Both times have been excellent. The food and the service are definitely top notch. I will continue to frequent this fine establishment. I have to bring my co-worker next time I come.”
