Cheli is a Chinese Restaurant (specifically Shanghainese) located in East Village (Manhattan) and Flushing (Queens). My friend, his girlfriend, and I went to the Flushing Location. According to their website, Che Li presents a distinctive dining experience, weaving together the rich tapestry of Song Dynasty banquet culture with the authentic and sophisticated flavors of Shanghai cuisine. Their culinary philosophy is deeply rooted in the heritage of Jiangnan--a region known for its delicate beauty, culinary finesse, and the origin of Shanghai's gastronomic excellence. Characterized by its subtle yet profound flavors, meticulous preparation, and elegant presentation, their cuisine pays tribute to this heritage while celebrating the refined communal spirit of Song Dynasty feasts. My favorite part is that no matter how much I eat I never feel sick afterwards. I've dined at plenty of BBQ spots and no matter what the meat makes me feel bloated but not here. “Great place if you can be bothered to wait for entry. Security and staff were unprofessional. Queues were extremely disorganized and the attendants were young and not trained well for crowd control. I didn’t feel safe (if a fight or emergency broke out) once inside the atmosphere for the first night return was great. Many vendors. I will become a regular this summer if the entry is sorted out.“

I came in for brunch, and I think this place is super cute, and I got such a great view of the water while dining outdoors. Owen was my server, and he was very friendly. The service getting my food and drink was a tad slow, which was understandable as I saw the restaurant was having a private event inside. They have a decent sized menu with reasonable prices, and the Meatlover Omelet I ordered tasted really good. They also make a great bloody mary as well. I was surprised that I didn't have an issue finding street parking in this area as they don't have a parking lot. Overall, I was happy with my first experience, and I will definitely stop in again the next time I drive to the Rockaways.“

The nasi bungkus was a nice variety of spices carbs and protein, wrapped up in a banana leaf and cooked, enjoyed the variety of spices and items there. The batagor was a nice assortment of a variety of fried items that were smothered in peanut sauce, super interesting and really tasty. It's located kind of away from flushing proper so the restaurant itself is pretty big unlike some of the more cramped spots. The food was pretty good honestly, you can tell it's very genuine Szechuan style cooking. We had the spicy beef and string beans they were both so flavorful. I have never been so excited about any vegetable dishes but the beans were one of the favorite Chinese vegetable dishes ever. We also got spicy fish, the fish was fried first then put into spicy soup. The cooking style is amazing and everything was delicious. The spice they use are fresh and not too much for my taste. Our service though was a bit slow and I think at some point they forgot to make our fish and we had to ask multiple times before it finally came out. “I had a great time on Friday night at our friend's birthday celebration at Marbella. The staff is wonderful, so friendly ! Marcello was very attentive and made sure we had a great time AND we always had a drink. A++ The room is very spacious and festive. The cocktail hour was great! Dinner was lovely, buffet with items such as pork loin, arroz con pollo and stuffed filet of sole which I really enjoyed.
