“Oldest bar in the Bronx, bartender and all the regulars rule. Great drinks, borderline best value-for-the-drink on the basics in the whole friggin' city. I couldn't get ahold of anyone via phone or online to confirm they were open at 8 am like Yelp said (they were, turns out!), otherwise I would have been there earlier.“

“My wife and I have been coming here for the past several years and have never been disappointed with either the food or service. We love the ambiance and chatting with the help, It makes you feel as if you are part of a family. They have a top notch kitchen. Both the regular and specials menu have great offerings and a nice variety. And let's not forget the Guinness,,, It's spot on.“
“I was there for a family gathering. Our entire party had the sampler platter. The entrees were divided with fish and chips, the rib dinner, and the salmon salad. The Guinness was from the tap and not Stout as asked for. It was not good. The fish was cod but not seasoned. Needed malt vinegar which was brought to the table. Wished for some hot sauce. The servers were really nice and took care of us.Parking: We parked in the street a block from the pub.“

The wings are on the larger side so if you're more into the smaller wings with less meat on the bone you may not love them.My kids love the pizza. I'm a little more neutral on it due to the crust leaning a little towards a "store bought" type. But the sauce and toppings are spot on.The employees are great across the board. They all seem to enjoy working there vs just "having a job". Good place to hang with some friends or eat with the family.Parking: Depending on the time of day can be a little challenging.Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly in the dining room for sure. The bar area has high tops but I wouldn't say that space is kid friendly.Wheelchair accessibility: Not the easiest to access for people with disabilities.“

The place was clean and the lady who was the bartender and waitress was awesome and she was such a pleasure serving everyone.. “Despite its proximity to the train and its potential for takeover by transient out-of-towners (myself included), Village Station feels like one of the most well-worn and solidly-established neighborhood bars for miles. Behind the taps, Nicole serves 20-30 people solo like it’s nothing - not just pouring the tastiest $6 pints during happy hour, but remembering names, greeting regulars by name as they walk in, cashing checks, all, seemingly at once. Don’t be fooled by the reasonable prices. The wings are stupidly delicious, and though I haven’t tried everything on the menu, I’ve walked past enough tables to get a divine whiff of just about every dish on the menu. Pub grub of the most delicious kind served next to folks from every profession, who’ll chat sports, work, or leave you in peace - whatever floats your boat. Skip every pub on Mamaroneck Avenue for Village Station… just remember to cash out (and tip well) before your train pulls in!“
