“My husband and I went to burrata for dinner today. It was a Saturday so we did have to wait around 50 minutes, so I would suggest making a reservation online if possible. We grabbed a drink at the bar next door while we waited. I really liked a the ambiance of the place- modern yet homey feel. Service was excellent, food came in a timely manner. We ordered the Araninci which was delicious, the burrata - yum. For mains we ordered the pappardelle which was really good, and the mushroom jalapeño pizza which we also enjoyed. For dessert we had the tiramisu which from a distance I thought looked like a store bought tiramisu because they wrap it in one of those plastic pieces to keep it together, but once the waiter opened it up all of the cream at the top fell to the sides like lava! It was really good- coming from someone who is very picky about tiramisu! Drinks- I had an espresso martini (no baileys) which was also good Definitely will be coming back here- with a reservation next time!“

It was easily one of our favorite meal experiences, as everything was made to perfection. For dessert we ordered the cheesecakes.. “Don’t know if it’s the best pizza I’ve had but it’s definitely the best in the neighborhood. It had the right amount of cheese and sauce. I had a nice window seat while I enjoyed a pepperoni slice and the buffalo chicken slice both of them big slices. It was leaking in there from the ceiling that day but the place was clean I doubt that’s a common occurrence. “We found this place on a spur of the moment lunch date decision and so glad we did as we really enjoyed ourselves so much. The pizza is fantastic and we also enjoyed a shrimp app with this incredible tomato sauce and got cheese served with some crust to soak up that yummy sauce. The owner Stephanie I think is her name was so welcoming and even let our dog come join us as it was late and not crowded in the front. Our service was perfect too and I will return for sure maybe for dinner to try the other pasta dishes and more pizza.“

Today my friend I went for brunch and it was everything. I think they make the nest pancakes in NYC. If you come here and don't try the pancake, you're missing out. It's delicious. Buttery, crunchy on the outside but soft in the inside. Everyone loves it here. The lentil soup with a side of sourdough bread was perfect, hearty, and fulfilling. The kale salad is my favorite salad. It's delicious. My friend loved her avocado toast with eggs on top. They also made the best cappuccino and Chai lattes. I had the fettuccine carbonara, which was certainly above average in quality. I find that carbonara is a difficult and unusual dish to make, so it's a good way to test an Italian restaurant. This place certainly passed the carbonara test. The portion size was absolutely enormous! It was better than the carbonara I had at a certain Michelin-starred restaurant in New Rochelle! I also had the opportunity to taste the fagioli soup, spinach pizza, and eggplant pizza. Everything was delicious. All of this, and the bill was under $50, with the tip included. Can't beat that.“

As for the pizza ? we traveled here from Cape Cod in search of the best pizza from Rockland County NY through Bergen County NJ. We eventually landed here at Petrillos and met John and his parents working behind the counter. An old school hard-working family making traditional pizzas. We were blown away by what they had created, a super tasty combination of classic sauce and the perfect amount of cheese on a slightly crispy underbody with a soft but crisp crust. We ordered 13 pizzas that day, 10 plain,1 green pepper & onion, and 2 chicken cutlet and cherry pepper. After trying the Chicken cutlet and cherry pepper I called the next morning and ordered 3 more...wow it was awesome. Upon picking up the pizzas Sunday morning we discovered John making breakfast on the flat-top grill so my wife ordered French toast and bacon, yum! We gave this establishment a 5-star review but on a scale of 1-10 we gave our highest review 9.8 only because there has to be room for something higher, we just haven't found it yet.
