“The food here is absolutely amazing! It is definitely the best pita bread I have ever had and the falafel is absolutely amazing as well. I highly recommend this place to everyoneVegetarian options: Plenty of falafel or vegetable options that are equally delicious! I imagine a lot of the food is vegan but I am not entirely sure.Dietary restrictions: The food is all kosher and I believe it is halal as wellParking: The location is on a street right off of Broadway so it's a busy area but the street it's on always seems to have parking.“
“I was super skeptical to try this at first because it didn’t seem authentic but after i gave it a try i had to come back 2 more times because it was GREAT. Jerk chicken over rice is on top. I’d recommend this to anyone especially if you’re tired of a basic chicken over rice platter. Make sure to get their dragon sauce.“
“Exceptional dining experience! From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance was inviting, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was absolutely divine. Every dish was prepared to perfection, bursting with flavor and presented beautifully. The attention to detail and quality of ingredients truly set this restaurant apart. We can't wait to return and explore more of their menu. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience!“
“A-mazing!! Tiny little hole in the wall Mediterran lunch spot. Only six tables and the chef was on his own that day. No servers or cleanup staff that I could see. He did it all! But Best was the Food!! Tasty and Huge, we had falafel, wraps in handmade thin bread. I ordered the Vegan sandwich, which included roasted eggplant, and cauliflower, hummus, lettuce tomatoes, and french fries! It was warm with a juice or gravy of some sort. It was delicious, if messy.! I look forward to my next visit.“
“I've been eating here for years, but I've taking a break but yesterday i went back an taste just like I had a year ago. Everything tasted fresh an light ugh I don't really know how to explain it but my mouth is watering just thinking about. I love there white sauce!!! Like ?, I'm going back “
“This is a halal Algerian spot with very authentic food. They have sandwiches and platters and some flavorful side dishes. I had the merguez sandwich and chicken sandwich, and a couple side dishes. The Merguez was amazing, very delicious sausage type dish in a hero roll with fries inside. There's not a lot of seating space so it's a great takeout spot.“
“I recently tried this halal food in the hood, and it exceeded all my expectations! The flavors were rich, the portions generous, and the staff incredibly friendly ,Onik my favourite guy always treats me well , his professionalism is praiseworthy . A true gem for anyone looking for delicious halal options in the neighborhood. Five stars without a doubt!“
“it was pretty empty when we got there but overall it was delicious, the service is great and the workers were very kind, the place looked clean. the fish was delicious, and tastes fresh, the rice is sooo good, i think it was my favorite thing ??. overall 8/10, would visit again.“
“My kids, who are young, don't even like falafel. They each inhaled three (one complimentary at the truck, and two from the kabab platter) and it really is the best falafel I've ever had. I'm sad we didn't get to try the beef kabab but they were basically sold out of almost everything, so we had the chicken and it was AMAZING. I've passed by this truck multiple times when I come into Queens to visit my parents and never tried it and now I don't think I can ever go home without buying some to take with me.“
“Just Halal Fusion is a win/win for the local community and the consumer. The food is made with great care using high quality fresh ingredients and the highest standard of handling practices. The quality of the food, quantity, price, and highly varied selection translates to tremendous value for the customer. Not many establishments in the area are able to check all of these boxes. My whole family and many of my friends frequent this restaurant many times a week for this reason. All of their offerings are the perfect combination of delicious, affordable, and filling. The food preparers will always make your food exactly to your request and will quickly remedy any mishaps. The restaurant is always kept clean and all staff are extremely courteous. I couldn't recommend Just Halal and their wide array of tasty options enough. From Quesadillas to Kebabs, you will not be disappointed.Parking: Free parking allowed at the strip mall across the street.Kid-friendliness: Options for kids (kid-sized meals and beverages)“
“This was one of the most delicious experiences I’ve had. I’m vegetarian and the appetizers were flavorful, and each unique in taste. The main dish I had (cauliflower shawarma on frena bread) was also flavorful and filling. Ah, and the hummus was unbelievable. The young lady that served us was super hospitable and knowledgeable about the dishes, and recommended some great options. Can’t wait to go back there again.“
“Lovely welcome by hostess and owner and waitesss which set the tone for our brunch today Had the Rothschild breakfast which was delicious especially with my double order of labne! My husband had the Ahi Tuna burger which was also very tasty Will definitely be back!“
“What a fun experience and the food was fabulous! I ordered the baba ghanoush, which came with the best pita I’ve ever had. I didn’t see any menus, so you should ask the staff to guide you for a selection or read reviews before you go! I luckily had seen the tagine recommended, so I got the tagine with calamari and shrimp. Definitely a portion for two or more! I went as a solo diner and it was much too filling for just me. I would definitely recommend this as a place to go with a group, so you can order a few different things to share. The tagine came bubbling in a clay pot, and was very intensely flavored! Weirdly, I almost liked the vegetables more than the seafood! The shrimp seemed a little over cooked, but I think that’s the nature of this dish with shrimp. I would love to try again with a fish that could handle more intense heat. The tagine came with this wonderful onion rice that was a great pair. The meal came out to about $60 (with bottled water), which again would be a better situation for two! Next time, I’d love to try a whole fish and the fried calamari! Highly recommend making the trip to Astoria—it was walkable from the N and then walkable to the Museum of the Moving Image.“
“OMG so delicious! It was my first time trying Indian food and the butter chicken with rice and garlic naan was like a warm hug to my soul. This place is great can’t wait to come back. My only critique is that I would’ve loved more chicken with my order it’s sliced thin and a little too sparse. But it was so yummy I wouldn’t take off a star for this.“
“I lived in Astoria for 5 years and never tried this place. Just had it and I am blown away by how good it is. It's so hard to differentiate between these shawarma/gyro places, but this one is a gem. I got the chicken kebab falafel platter. The chicken is flavorful, rice is fluffy, white sauce is tasty and not overpowering, and the falafel was outstanding - super light and crispy. I'm so glad I tried and will come back when I'm in Astoria again.“
“Literally one of the best restaurants I've eaten at in NYC (and I've been to a lot)! We ordered 5 Mezze options (potato, cauliflower , baba ganouj, labne, and hummus) to form a platter and everything was phenomenal. My boyfriend thought he didn't like baba ganoush until he tried it at this restaurant! This will definitely become a regular spot for us!Vegetarian options: All of the Mezze options are vegetarian, and they have many veg entrees and sides as well!“
“First time to ever try pizza shawarma, definitely a great choice! Will be ordering again also I ordered the chicken parm and Philly cheese steak sandwiches for a quick lunch. Both were delicious and very fresh. The chicken was not soggy like most chicken parm sandwiches I've ordered from other places . The service was very fast and friendly. The restaurant was clean and well maintained. I' definitely come back to try other things from the menu. I saw someone having the shawarma platter and it looked delicious.“
“We have tried their food multiple times. It's best when you dine in. They give you a big portion of rice, and meat is fresher. We love their lamb/chicken haneeth. Lamb/chicken mandi and grilled salmon. We have taken a takeout a couple of times. First of all, the rice portion is less compared to what they serve you in restaurant, and meat wasn't fresh both time, sadly. Meat was dry, felt warmed up, and went bad in fridge in one night.I hope they serve equally good quality food for dining in and taking out customers.Parking is a bit hard around them. Restaurant is usually clean. Mostly men are sitting there to eat, so it doesn't give you a family Restaurant vibes. bit, we went in with family multiple times, and the staff was kind, friendly, and accommodating.“
“What a welcoming authentic place! You feel like home here. Every single dish that I tried was particularly delectable. The service is always above and beyond. Such a fair price for hefty portions of food. I highly recommend to everyone and anyone.“
“Food was delicious! I ordered something I wouldn’t normally get at a shawarma spot (chicken caesar wrap) and it was SO GOOD. Sauce and flavor were on point. I got to try the chicken shawarma sandwich with my husband’s order and, again, sauce and flavor were on point. To top it off, I was curious about the dolma but it was cold vs warm (which is how I prefer dolma) so they let me try it on the house. They were confident in their product, as they should be it turned out! Also delicious. Perfect soft texture. All in all, a great food experience! Definitely recommend.“
“Living work of incredibly sincere art, in which the artist generously allows visitors to sit and have a meal. Really incredible. He has the daily menu memorized. We had hummus, cauliflower with a light pomegranate sauce, lamb shank, and koshary.“
“Following up on my previous review from 4 years ago, these guys have only gotten better. The falafel and kabobs are so delicious and my go-tos, but I find it hard to not get a Schwarma plate every time I’m there. I never specify sides when I order a plate because everything is delicious.“
“The last time I passed by the bright green food truck parked on the corner of 31st and Ditmars, I had just eaten a massive meal at Hamido's but I made a mental note to return because the food smelled so good even from across the street. I recently was able to return, with an empty stomach, to try the King of Falafel & Shawarma. The vendor greeted me with a falafel to try, and I immediately noticed it was oval shaped. It did taste significantly crunchier, which I am attributing the larger surface area to, and the spices were fantastic. I had my heart set on trying their kefta but unfortunately by the time I arrived late Saturday evening, they were out of everything except their chicken and falafel, so I had a platter of that instead ($12). My plate was absolutely packed and smothered with their white sauce (highly recommend the red sauce as well as it packs a subtle punch), and the salad was a very welcome addition to the rice and mound of marinated and shaved chicken shawarma. There is so much flavor packed in every single bite, and the way the chicken was marinated definitely sets it apart from other shawarma carts I've tried thus far. Everyone I spoke to, including the other patrons waiting for their order, had only amazing praises to sing for KoF and I can easily understand why. I'm very happy to discover that they also have a truck on 53rd and Park, as Astoria is a bit of a trek for me.PS- An update: I have now finally managed to sample their chicken and beef shawarma, as well as their kefta too. My favorite still remains the chicken shawarma, which edges out the beef because it remains juicer and better marinated. I found the kefta a little too dry for my preference and it lacked that smoky grilled flavor. If you are going to order one thing, get their chicken or chicken and falafel platter with white sauce, red sauce, and extra tahini. And maybe a side order of falafels (4 for $3 to munch on the way home).“
“Typically I use the Uber eats specials buy one get one free because the food is amazing. Combo with rice and salad how you want it and so fresh. They are very generous with their sauces. Staff is always helpful, friendly and polite. I've had their cheesesteak sandwich which is delicious as well. The slices of cake are super delicious.“
“1st time here and i will be back the jerk chicken over rice was delicious great portion & price the establishment was clean the staff was helpful, welcoming, & friendly i wish i ordered 2 instead of 1 i sent my coworker there the same day she had the salmon over rice & the avocado fries she enjoyed her meal as well“
“Very cute location. Came in with a friend for some lite bites. We tried the trio dip; falafel, labneh and roast cauliflower & a side of pita (which was excellent!). Looking forward to returning and trying more items off their menu. Service was great, super attentive and kind.“
“Some of the best Georgian and Russian food in NYC. Everything I've had here is bursting with flavor and the soups never disappoint. Fried pelmeni from the side orders is my favorite appetizer and the boneless chicken breast Shish Kabob is some of the best chicken I've eaten in my entire life. While not "cheap" everything on the menu is great value. It's one of the most affordable restaurants in the city and the quality is amazing.“
“So good!! The harissa aioli is great with the fries. I loved the falafel sandwich!! The hummus and pita are super delicious- the pita is super fluffy, if you have a couple people I would get an extra pita. Would love to try the drinks sometime. Delivery was fast!“

The moment you step through the door, you're greeted with a welcoming warmth and familiarity that instantly sets the tone for a memorable experience. It's also a sanctuary where productivity thrives. Let's start with the food. Their menu is a delightful fusion of comfort classics and inventive dishes that never fail to impress. Whether you're craving a hearty burger, a flavorful salad, or some delicious bar snacks to share with friends, there's something for everyone here. The quality of ingredients shines through in every dish, and the chefs' attention to detail is evident in every bite. And then there are the drinks. Oh, the drinks! Let's highlight the impressive selection of beers on tap and the carefully curated wine list, ensuring there's always something to suit your taste. But what truly sets Inwood Local apart is the atmosphere. It's the kind of place where strangers become friends, and regulars become family. The staff here go above and beyond to make you feel welcome, whether popping in for a quick drink after work or settling in for a leisurely evening with friends. The cozy interior and inviting outdoor patio provide the perfect backdrop for intimate conversations and lively gatherings, and the live music and events on special occasions only add to the charm. In short, do yourself a favor and pay them a visit - you won't be disappointed! #keepitlocal“
“This food is amazing. I don't have a picture because I eat it too quickly. I had a lamb kebob pita with the four salad options. You are tasting like 6 delicious flavors all at the same time. The portions are generous, service is friendly (been here a couple times).“
“The food is delicious! Stopped by the grill house and had delicious chicken shawarma and tabouleh salad. The baba ganoush was excellent with the most amazing falafel I’ve ever had ever! It was moist and so full of flavor! The bronzino was cooked to perfection! The knafeh is ok. This place gets super busy but so worth the time to get the food as it’s made fresh to order.“
“Most of the gyro carts are nasty, unhygienic and awful. However, Mahoud’s Corner Halal Food Cart is exceptional. Their food is very delicious with variety options. We came here twice, each times we ordered chicken, lamb or mixed gyro. Whatever your preference is you will enjoy every bite. Their gyro is very flavorful, not too overwhelming or not too bland, just right. They also provide hot sauce/white sauce if you want to add more spice. I would highly recommend this halal gyro over almost any others in queens.“
“My friend and I visited the restaurant on Saturday night and were pleased to find ample street parking. The restaurant was clean and tastefully decorated. We were most impressed by the soup - it was delicious! The rest of the menu was also good, although the portions were a bit small for the price. The tea and the dessert were both delicious! The tea came in a small, adorable kettle with two cups, enough for two people, and it was only $4 !I enjoyed my dessert, Lavsh, which was something I had never heard of before, but it was really good. The only downside was the inclusion of a 20% service fee already added to the bill - this type of business should not charge a 20% fee. A more reasonable 12% service fee should be included, and customers can add extra if they feel it is deserved.Overall, the restaurant was a great place with a good location. The food was affordable and tasty, and the atmosphere was pleasant. However, a more reasonable service fee should be included on the bill, as customers should be given the choice to reward the staff more if they feel it is deserved.“
“The flavors here were amazing. I loved their rice bowl, hummus & the pita bread. Everything was so fresh. The hummus was so good. I’ll be ordering it instead of store bought. Will definitely be trying dessert in the near future. All of them look outstanding.“
“King Of Falafel has been my favorite falafel spot in NY for years, and it never lets me down. The falafel is consistently excellent, with a perfect balance of flavors and that satisfying crispiness. Beyond the falafel, I can't resist mentioning the Chicken Shawarma chicken shawarma and the delicious grape leaves - both equally impressive. If you're looking for a reliable go-to for top-notch Middle Eastern flavors, King Of Falafel is the place to be.“
“This was one of the top 2 dinners we had both in the City and in the Hamptons this week and was also the least expensive. We couldn’t believe they have Chilean Sea Bass kabobs, and they are only $13 or $20 for a meal. Excellent. Also the dumpling chicken broth dill soup, baklava, hummus, pickles, fries, hot tea- literally everything was fresh and prepared to perfection. As other reviewers have written, this is a hole in the wall find, and I would come all the way to Queens to eat here again! Very near JFK. Service was fairly quick, clientele mostly large families, takes credit cards. Wonderful Israeli/middle eastern cuisine in a very casual atmosphere at very reasonable prices!“
“Great food! Unfortunately my favorite lamb chop is often burned to the point it’s charcoal and they are cheap on the sauce. If I forget to ask for extra sauce and go home with a takeout, it’s a pretty bad experience since the food is dry. Can definitely become way better restaurant with minor changes.“
“Zyara Restaurant offers a delightful dining experience with its delicious cuisine and inviting atmosphere. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with a warm ambiance that sets the stage for a memorable meal with family and friends. The food here is undeniably great, boasting freshness and flavor that leave taste buds craving more. Whether you're craving traditional favorites or eager to try something new, Zyara delivers on both fronts. The service at Zyara is commendable, with attentive staff ensuring that orders are taken promptly and meals are served without delay. This makes it an ideal spot for those seeking a quick bite or a leisurely meal with loved ones. However, one downside is the absence of popular soda options like Coca-Cola or Sprite, which may disappoint some guests.Another drawback is the extended wait times, particularly during peak hours, which can test the patience of hungry diners. Additionally, it's disappointing to discover that sharing dishes incurs an additional charge of nearly $8, which seems excessive and detracts from the overall dining experience.Despite these drawbacks, Zyara remains a top choice for those seeking delicious Middle Eastern cuisine in a vibrant setting. With its delectable food, welcoming atmosphere, and efficient service, it's no wonder that Zyara continues to attract diners looking for a great meal shared among friends and family. However, improvements in wait times and pricing policies for shared dishes would undoubtedly enhance the overall dining experience for guests.“
“Amazing food! The falafel was crispy on the outside but moist and flavorful on the inside. I had the chicken kabab platter with hummus. I devoured every bite! I loved the generous portions! The tender chicken combined with the salad, rice, and white sauce was so delicious. I highly recommend!“
“Amazing I was put on by a friend and the I got the loaded fries with the jerk chicken and it was straight gas. Get the spicy white sauce on it the dragon and green I got on the side. I got everything on it. Guys I was crying it was so good. I’m a foodie I know all the spots and I’m so hyped I found another go “
“This is a small restaurant that serves tremendous flavor. The food was absolutely perfection. I decided to have the rotisserie chicken with rice topped with vegetables and it came with soup (marag) and salad, side of lemon and Yemeni hot sauce. Very generous portion and delicious. Hands down would go back to Bronx just to eat here. The rice was fluffy and aromatic and the chicken was roasted well and juicy. Service was fast and nice. Lots of drinks to choose from including Yemeni products and a self serve tea station. Basbousa was sweet and soft.“
“For more than a decade, I've been a loyal patron of Grill Point, and their signature Shawarma sandwich continues to impress with its consistent deliciousness over time. The fact that everyone I introduce to this gem enjoys it speaks volumes about the consistent quality of their food. I wholeheartedly endorse Grill Point to anyone seeking the finest Shawarma around.“
“When you first walk in you are greeted with champs which set the tone for the evening. Definitely a vibe and great experience. The food was traditional Levantine. Would be great for a private event as well. I look forward to coming back in the summer!“
“10/10 halal food experience!! Phenomenal chicken over rice! Everything from the rice to salad and chicken to the white sauce was amazing. As a Native New Yorker, I'm a stickler for Halal food and this was quality. Sitting right in the border between Queens and LI, worth the stop.Pro tip:Save your leftovers for the morning, heat in the oven and throw an over easy egg on top and you have a wonderful breakfast!“
“Wow was I surprised by this place. Went with a girlfriend for lunch and had a great time. We got the Shurpa soup, it only had one piece of meat in it so even though it's cooked with beef & lamb, you don't get both. The fresh herbs in it were delicious! We also got the fresh homemade salad and Korean carrot salads which were both good and grew on you as you eat them, so they just get better during the meal. The steamed dumplings were good and the kabobs were so good! We eat got 3! We stayed for probably close to 2.5 hours and the restaurant didn't mind. It's a great place to meet up with an old friend and catch up on life!“
“Delicious, fresh chicken and lamb, perfectly seasoned and cooked, and served with a smile. Quality of the meats is above the usual cart fare, and it makes a big difference. We eat a LOT of halal cart food, and Abdul offers some of the best we’ve had. If you’re in the area (or flying out of JFK and have some extra time), it’s worth a small detour.“
“My wife and I ate at this restaurant a couple of days ago with friends. The restaurant is self serve and you pay at the counter. My wife had a slice of pizza with tomatoes and onions, I had the eggplant parmesan and fried breaded cauliflower and we shared a leafy put together yourself salad and vegetarian sushi. The food was excellent, very tasty and filling. The atmosphere was what you'd expect from a self serve midtown/downtown business lunch place--not a place to take a romantic first date that you want to impress--but we'd highly recommend this restaurant if you want some quick great food at a reasonable price.“
“Best israeli restaurant in NYC, this place is a hidden gem.My wife and I love hummus, and it was as good as the one we had in Israel. Also, the owners are very kind, they actually watched over my kid while I took the other one the bathroom ?Go!!!“
“Amazing I had the Mix kabob platter chicken and lamb, with rice, super good They gave me this white sauce and green sauce that complemented the whole meal Served with bread and this spinach that made it all come together, definitely recommend, the older lady that makes the food is such a sweetheart, definitely coming back Thank you Pamir Kabab“
“Since moving to the area, Nana's is one place that is consistently fantastic and everyone I bring here raves about it. Simple, yes, but freshly made, flavorful, and healthy isn't always easy to find when you're trying to grab a quick bite.I think the way the menu is laid out is a bit confusing if you've never been. Once you understand how to navigate that, it's smooth sailing. My regular order is the Mu'shwarma, pita or platter depending on how I feel that day. I am pescatarian and love that they don't use artificial fake meat, but this dish is just really well flavored mushrooms. Their platters are great because you can choose so many sides, and they REALLY stuff their pitas, so I think either one works, depending on what mood I'm in. If you get the platter, you can choose pita or pita chips on the side. Their pita chips are fresh and the best I've ever tasted. I'm not usually a drink gal, but I love their Limonana so I do order it quite frequently. Very refreshing and made with all fresh ingredients. Not overly sugary or anything. I've tried a bunch of their salads/salatim and they are all amazing, but the Babaganoush is a MUST. I'm not always a fan of the dish because of the texture but theirs is the best I've ever had. So flavorful and fantastic. Any of the spicy salads (spicy tomato) are actually quite spicy, so be aware. There isn't so much of an ambiance here as there's 1-2 tight tables and it's definitely more of a to go place, although I have dined in and eaten outside when weather permits. There is no table service. The prices are definitely on the higher side, but I can often stretch one of their meals to 2 and the ingredients are so fresh and so delicious, so it is worth the price. Don't expect any $7 street cart pitas here though! I've taken my parents and several friends and everyone that has been has only raved about how fresh and delicious it is, so it's a must go to and a neighborhood staple for me.“
