Sam offered me samples, which helped me make my decision. She was very professional even though I was standing there for a while, trying to decide what to get with asking for multiple samples. In my personal experience, some people get impatient when you can't decide right away. You can't go wrong with any flavor! The ice cream was super tasty and amazing. The seating area is very cozy and organized. It feels like you got teleported to your living room. One thing that caught my eye was the chess board on the table. “We got a fantastic meal here late on a Thursday. We had a view of the kitchen from where we were seated at the bar. The from-scratch cooking looked so good that it had two vegetarians salivating over ham hocks. We split a loaded veggie burger (note that they can make this vegan, because everything is made to order) and an opera cake and I enjoyed an amari flight. I'm looking forward to our next visit!“

Venezuelan arepas and cachacas are a true delicacy, and not always easy to find, so to have a spot here in the 518 that's just killing it is a really wonderful thing. I went with my girlfriend and we tried several things: the yuca fries, pork empanadas, sweet and crispy cachacha and pork arepa. We literally inhaled it. The only pauses were to groan with delight. “Forts Ferry Farm (FFF) is hard to define. It changes from season to season and as a farm, that seems befitting. For Fun Foods, now shuttered, used to offer prepared and frozen foods on site. There was also a selection of produce from the farm and pantry items like extra virgin olive oil sold in their store. Issues with the town of Colonie put an end to that venture. Not to worry, FFF, has a presence at both the Delmar and Troy Farmers' Markets for retail. They also have farmers' market pop ups at the farm on occasion. They seem to have a burgeoning wholesale market with several restaurants in the area. The wholesale market is open to everyone using the fortsferryfarmwholesale.… website. I believe they have plans to open a retail store in Hudson. I once emailed a question through their website about mycology (watching too much The Last of Us) and one of the owners, Emma Hearst, replied almost immediately to my question. Both she and her husband, John Barker, are chefs. I believe their restaurant's name in NYC was Sorella. They moved back upstate to grow food and share it with their community, both fellow chefs and consumers. The produce grown on the farm is top notch. I remember eating different heirloom tomatoes from the farm. It was simply cut, drizzled with a little olive oil, and sprinkled with a pinch of salt. The taste of those tomatoes defines summer. Another discover for me was honeynut squash. It has a thinner skin which is edible and the flesh seems much sweeter than butternut squash. The salad mixes are generous and bagged for convenience. The ginger they're growing seems to be a different varietal. They offer the tried and true classics but also venture out to offer different options to their patrons. The brand of Forts Ferry Farm is managed very well. They have both designers and farmers on staff. Check out the photos created by the staff on this site, they're gorgeous. I believe their cookbook will also be out for sale soon. Whatever Forts Ferry Farm grows into, I'm sure it will be innovative yet also founded on cultivating "goodness".By the way, if you ever have the opportunity to get one of their salted chocolate chip cookies, do not hesitate. Honestly, it's probably the best I've ever had.“

“Never let's you down! Dinosaur BBQ is synonymous to Troy waterfront. I have been coming to this place for a decade now and it's beautiful in the summer, specifically during sunset. “2 person family owned restaurant. They don't have dine in currently. Front of staff guy is really friendly and nice. Had braised minced pork, fried roast pork, and salt and pepper chicken. The salt and pepper chicken is kinda mid but everything else is good. Portion size is good for price and wait time is alright too. They take cash and use square pos.Edit: Came back here the next day, tried fried chicken cutlet and the chicken curry. Fried chicken cutlet is the same as the pork one. The curry chicken has a separate container for the curry and rice.Overall still think the best one out of the ones I've tried is braised minced pork“

Relaxed atmosphere- we’ve eaten both inside and out in the garden, which is hidden from the street and a nice surprise to find after walking through the black gates. “We spent three glorious days at June Farms. We occupied a Wellness Hut, which was absolutely exquisite in design, comfort, and beautiful privacy amongst the rolling hills and trees. It was much larger than we ever expected with at least 16ft. ceilings. We cooked each meal ourselves, took luxurious saunas, and enjoyed the perfect tub and open shower with amazing views of the snow kissed trees. I can go on further, but I will stop here to leave room for the amazing staff who were all absolutely lovely to us and obviously very very good at what they do. Sarah was outstanding, and knowledgeable and brought us so close to the cows and horses, and I will not soon forget her kindness. Also thanks to Joe who guided us on our sheep walk with a smile, and welcoming demeanor on our first day. Thank you to Michele, our Concierge, and Joshua. Great People. The service was very slow and made us late. They kept saying they were busy for the concert but that was the entire point. So would go back when not rushed. Good food. However, I've learned from my food trucking, that fries can be somewhat of a challenge. Either soggy, dried, or just not right. I hate suffering through that, so instead, I ordered the tots they have. Being a chemist by nature, I don't know what it is with tots, but you can hardly mess them up. They always come out crispy on outside and nice and hot inside. Michele's did not disappoint. I ordered my 0.3lb burger with cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion. The film broke loose and this movie came to a screeching halt when I heard, "We are out of onions." "Ahhhhgg," I thought, as in my opinion a burger just isn't a burger without onions. Before I could complete my sigh of disbelief, the server said, "We can put some fried onions on it, if you want. Will take a little longer." I was ecstatic. Not because I got my onions, albeit in a different form, but the food truck guy did not have to offer this, but he did. Why? I don't know, ask him, but I can guess it is because they have that food truck service mentality of "Let's take care of our special customers." It did take a little longer but was worth it. The cook handed me a freshly cooked cheeseburger with fried onions and tater tots. He even warned me that the tots were piping hot just out of the fryer. Really nice touch. I will definitely be back and try their other menu items which look really good including the clam, even though I am not a big clam fan.“
