“If you are a diner person, this WWII-era establishment is a great breakfast spot. The hot chocolate is out of this world, and the usual diner standbys are all on the menu. This is a Hyde Park institution, with regular customers. This morning when I was there, the waitress got a gift from a regular customer— an outfit for the baby the server is expecting. It’s that kind of neighborhood place, which warms my heart.“
“This is a great place with excellent food, great presentation, and quality ingredients.I had their eggs Benedict and a side English muffin with strawberry preserves. As the same muffin is used for the eggs Benedict I will say it is a quality muffin that came out split warm and buttered inside with the strawberry preserves soft and delicious. The eggs Benedict was wonderful as it has cubed hashbrowns that are both dense and moist, but moist inside not greasy with a crisp outside reminiscent of a home fried potatoes exterior. DeliciousThen there is a mini fruit cupThe eggs Benedict themselves start with a base of that excellent muffin then a ham that is perfect for this application... then you have a nice hollandaise and attop it is a perfectly poached egg; that when split flows nicely over the entrée.I would recommend a side of their toast to sop in the egg as the tost is very nice and tasted excellent. The mushroom and Jack cheese Omelet is a beautiful example of an Omelet as the ingredients are not just in the Omelet but present In a way that they don't seem over cooked into the egg. It's almost like they were able to make sure they all stood out and you could taste them unlike other omelets where they can be bland ingredients. It shows they know when to add the ingredients to the egg properly so you can get the flavors that contrast in texture but compliments the others flavor... came with that wonderful toast and the hashbrown cubes; it also came with that mini fruit cup. This was a pleasurable brunch...Vegetarian options: Many of the dishes are easily vegetarian friendly or can be slightly modified to accommodate.Parking: Open free lotWheelchair accessibility: Has sidewalk ramp and tables that can accommodate.“
“Happy that the new owners were able to keep the same charm and quality of food. The hostess/waitress at the front though was mean, rude, and borderline verbally abusive. Breakfast sets the tone for the rest of the day, I didn't appreciate being spoken down to by the waitress first thing in the morning. I met her back with kindness and a smile but she persisted in being rude. And made comments that made my friend and I very uncomfortable. Also, bring back the banana peppers!!“
“Omg! I got to say this was one of the best Brunch spots Ive been to. The food and service was amazing. So flavorful and the seasoning… Lets just say no salt or pepper is needed. I can’t wait to try the other menu items. Today we tried the steak and eggs, chicken and waffles, and Banana French Toast. I also had a Mimosa.“
“We are transplants from New Jersey and finding pork roll and marble rye out here is next to impossible, so this place gets 5 stars just for having that!Love the atmosphere in here, it’s very cozy feeling and nicely decorated. Service is good. Food is delicious! Pork Roll slices are thick! Marble rye is perfection. Potatoes and eggs were cooked very well- again, so good!Their speciality coffees/lattes and bakery items upstairs are on the pricey end, just as a heads up, but the meal itself was well priced and worth every penny. Always look forward to going back!“
“Went here for brunch and found absolutely phenomenal crêpes that are reasonable price, both sweet and savory selection choices. Very impressed by the food quality and taste and presentation. Not ostentatious or snooty but delicious. Communal seating with a few two or four person tables so room is limited, it’s a classic Cincinnati shotgun style establishment so you may have to wait to get a seat. The food was well worth it. Highly recommend for brunch!“
