“I've driven past Vero probably 20+ times, but never set foot inside the establishment due to the intimidating lines I would always see forming outside. It's been on my try list for the longest time since it's the favorite restaurant of some of my friend in Cleveland. In my last trip to the city, I finally decided to brave the line to try to get a seat. We were quoted a 40 minute wait time a bit before 6, but we were in luck as a table cleared up within 5 minutes. Margherita ($24) - The crust (or rather the cornicione) is seriously amazing. It has a bit of a char, is bubbly with a very nice rise, superb bouncy chew, and yet also a tenderness that collapses when you take a bite. There are blackened spots on the cornicione, but there is no bitterness. It's sprinkled with sea salt, giving an extra salty bite in some areas - be a bit careful, some of the salt is in larger crystals and if bitten the wrong way, they can hurt your teeth. The inner crust area soaks up the tomato sauce and becomes floppy, but is delicious. The tomato sauce is very fresh, acidic, and sweet. There's fresh basil to give an herbal note and the mozzarella adds a great dairy milkiness. The toppings are perfectly proportioned and each ingredient is fresh and high quality, allowing the pure flavors really shine and stand out. If you don't like eating crust, you should probably avoid eating at Vero - it will save you both time and money. I only mention this because we saw another party throwing out the cornicione. (5/5) Sausage and Rapini ($26) - Again, a fantastic crust. The sausage is a bit spicy but adds much needed meaty flavors. The rapini adds some bitterness and sweetness and is cooked perfectly. There's a good amount of cheese as well. Since there isn't really any sauce here, we drizzled some olive oil on top to add moisture. (5/5) The pizzas are not cut for you, instead they provide a pair of pizza shears so you can cut the pizza to your liking. You can get pepper flakes, oil, or hot honey brought over to add to the pizza. We went with the oil. The olive oil is quite fresh and has a bit of a peppery kick as well as vegetal notes. They also serve a spicier olive oil that tastes kind of like hot buffalo sauce. One thing that could be improved is the oil dispenser bottle. The design they have allows a lot of drippage along the outer sides, which makes pools of olive oil on the table. Also it seems that the waiters will sometimes forget to offer condiments - the patrons at the table next to us asked if they could borrow our bottles as they were not given the option. We went to Citizen Pie the next day to do a comparison. Vero has by far the best cornicione and the toppings and construction are better. The taste of the Vero pizza is fresh and pure, while the taste of Citizen Pie is much more muddled in comparison. That's not to say that Citizen Pie is bad. In fact, it's pretty good. Vero is just better in most aspects. The pizzas at Vero are absolutely delicious, but it's not all roses here. According to reviews the restaurant was renovated and expanded over the last couple of months. I was researching menus and comparisons between Vero and other Neapolitan pizza shops around Cleveland and it seems like the prices at Vero immediately before the renovation were already on the higher end ($20 for margherita vs $13-$18 at other places). They rose 20% immediately after the renovation ($24), making them cost way more than the competition. The pizzas take forever to come out. I feel like Vero expanded the dining room but didn't increase throughput. There are two people in the back prepping the pizzas while only one person (I assume the owner) operates the oven. Our pizza took over 45 minutes to arrive and this wasn't a fluke; The patrons at the table beside ours complained loudly as they had finished their appetizers and wine and were still without pizza almost half an hour afterwards. The restaurant also has some odd music choices. They play really loud, booming music - I found it hard to hear“

“I've been wanting to try for a while and finally went in. Customer service was great. They're patient and friendly. The lemon mint tea is delicious. The tiramisu ice cream was delectable. And let's not forget the dark chocolate waffle, to die for.“

“My daughter and her friend picked up a coffee gelato for me. It was Divine. Smooth and creamy without any artificial taste. I will be going back again and sometime the stack was wonderful so friendly that you felt like you were having dessert with your family.“

“Tasty ice cream, friendly staff and modern atmosphere. We had a cookies and cream milkshake and the seasonal cinnamon ice cream. Both were delicious but I did wish the ice cream was a little bit more frozen. The train around the top of the restaurant was cute. The tables all needed some cleaning and attention though.“

“We were in town for Final Four and happened upon this restaurant as we were walking back to the hotel. Will Bolduc and Owner Nick Kostis were so very welcoming and gracious hosting our large group. The service was top notch and the food was scrumptious. We were greeted by everyone there with heartfelt hellos and congratulations for the championship game. If you are ever in the area, this is an absolute MUST STOP for you! Thank you Mr. Kostis... as you said, BE KIND in everything you do... I will never forget how you made my Paopao family & I feel while we were there! Thank you!!!“

“Stopped at Park place today because I realize they have more than ice cream! The sandwich that I had was made fresh and was served hot! It was great! I was greeted warmly and the menu options were explained nicely- I wasn't left guessing. The prices weren't bad. I hope they will be able to add more indoor seating as they grow! For the nice weather months the outdoor seating is really nice!“

“I needed to take a break from dairy and tried out their seasonal Vegan Chocolate Cookie Butter Ice Cream and it is, hands down, the best ice cream I've ever had, dairy or non-dairy! There were five people in our party and everyone was happy with their choices, which is unbelievably rare. I had to take a picture because less than 5 minutes after purchase, I was almost done. Generous serving size too! One scoop was enough to satisfy. I would walk from Queens, NY to get more. It's that good! ?Dietary restrictions: Great ice cream for vegans“

“Thank you to the wonderful staff at Kake Kutters. I sent my husband to pick up some cupcakes (last minute) for our son's birthday. We thought they opened at 11 AM (they open at noon) and the open sign was on, he tried to open the door. When the employees came to the door, they politely advised that they were due to open at noon. He understood but they still asked if he wanted to come in to make his purchase. This was our first time patronizing this establishment, but will certainly not be the last. They answered every question and even engaged with me via facetime. The level of customer service was beyond superior. You've earned our support and will highly recommend this black, woman owned bakery and sweet shop every time. Oh, we tried the banana pudding, which was light and airy, plus not overly sweet. Definitely made from scratch. I'll be back for my husband's cake in a few weeks. Wishing you continued success.“

“Fabulous & locally owned! They started many years ago on the westside of Cleveland. When I moved east, it was one of the many things I sorely missed, so i'm very glad they have branched out onto the Eastside finally. Their honey pecan is better than anything at Mitchell's. Now that Honey Hut is on the east side. I don't understand why there are still lines at Mitchell's. Highly recommended.“

“It's fine. It's not really the unique "hole in the wall" coffee spot many reviews claim it is. It's just a really, really small space which results in little more than customers having no place to stand. The drink offerings are the standard menu items you'd find anywhere, including the spacious Starbucks that is pretty much directly across the street. The staff seems nice and everything was clean. Nothing overwhelmingly negative or positive to add. I left feeling like are definitely more convenient places to grab a cup of coffee from.“

“This is one of the first places I take out-of-towners. You cannot go wrong with Honey Hut -- it's the most affordable, tasty, and quintessential ice cream in Cleveland. Their seasonal flavors are a delight, but I almost always come back to chocolate chocolate-chip.“

“We went to Mason's Creamery on the Sunday before the eclipse and got Eclipse Shakes. So fun! The place was busy, so it took us a while to get our treats, but the crowd was in a festive mood and the servers were hustling, so we didn't mind the wait at all. We were lucky enough to snag an inside table for the four of us, which provided for excellent people watching. The Eclipse Shake itself was worth the wait, as we knew it would be. All of Mason's ice cream treats are top notch. This novelty shake was lemon cream ice cream blended into a shake and topped with black-dyed vanilla whip cream. Nom nom nom! It turned our tongues black, but it was worth it!“

“A great local ice cream chain! I visited here on the solar eclipse day and while the line was out the door, it moved quickly. I had been here before and got the chocolate peanut butter cup, which I found underwhelming. This time, I got the peanut butter fudge sundae with caramel fudge brownie ice cream. The sundae was reasonably priced ($7) with a good portion size, and it was delicious. The peanut butter and hot fudge were delicious, and the ice cream was rich and creamy, with plenty of hearty fudge chunks. I highly recommend Mitchell's if you are looking for good, local ice cream in Cleveland!“

“10/10! Amazing choices and flavors. When my family went here we always got the blue moon or Superman, the blue moon is to kill for! (Maybe an overstatement but still) The atmosphere is always friendly and there are no cons except bees but when it's summer and there is a lot of sugar that's to be expected.Kid-friendliness: Great options and taste for kids.“

“Adorable cafe with delicious food and amazing employees! I've been there a few times, and it's always been a delight. I love the classic tiramisu, Hershey mochi balls, ube soft serve, and caramel creme brulee. The decor is so cute and pretty, and they have a big whiteboard and markers for anyone to use to write and draw. There's also some claw machines with some cure plushies. I tried them with some friends, and we all won stuff. The workers are all very kind, too. They're very welcoming and super fast with making food and drinks. I can't wait to come here again!“

“I love their custard. My favorite is a kid sized turtle with whipped cream and a cherry. The hot fudge is always hot and that's important. Most places don't bother with the hot fudge actually being hot and that's just wrong on so many levels. The only thing I don't like about the place is the weird smell. Might be disinfectant, but whatever it is it's too strong.“
“Oh my. I didn't realize this ice cream place would be such a delight. And it's right around the corner! The flavors are traditional and unique. I had a Capaccino Crunch cone. Huge dips and amazing flavor. My new go-to place for ice cream.“

“This is a very well maintained ice cream place. While the place is easy to pass up if your not familiar with it's location, I really enjoy the options of sitting at a bench to enjoy your treat with family and friends. More marketing sogne would really help with the 5th star.“

“Lots of ice cream flavors. All fun and unique. Staff is very nice and accommodating. Plenty of parking. The only real downside is that it's a bit pricey compared to your local dairy whatever. But your getting good quality ingredients and fun flavors. Portion is pretty generous, so not skimpy. So your gonna pay a bit more. Go for it. As a treat it's good and worth it. Plenty of parking. You can eat inside or outside. Tables are available.“

“The sugar cookies are Pavlovian! The staff is unusually nice/polite. Nolan has been there the last 2 times I've been there. He simply asked, "how are you doing today?" It caught me off guard cause it didn't sound/feel like typical customer service talk.If the cookies didn't draw me in anytime I'm in the area, the service/staff definitely would!!!“
